AdventHealth Merging with Good Sam, Others

From the PR:

AdventHealth and Intermountain Health plan to unite their Denver-area services to bring more accessible, connected care to the area’s growing communities. The two healthcare systems have signed a letter of intent and anticipate signing a definitive agreement in the coming weeks to form a joint venture that will improve access to high-quality healthcare in the greater Denver metro area, serve the growing population, and provide care for future generations.

The proposed affiliation will bring together AdventHealth’s five hospitals in the Denver area (AdventHealth Avista, AdventHealth Castle Rock, AdventHealth Littleton, AdventHealth Parker, and AdventHealth Porter, along with offsite emergency and urgent care centers and dozens of medical practices) and three Intermountain hospitals (Good Samaritan Hospital, Lutheran Hospital and Platte Valley Hospital, along with their related physician practices and clinics).

“Partnering with Intermountain Health represents an opportunity to build on our shared commitment to deliver high-quality, compassionate care,” said David Banks, president and CEO of AdventHealth. “By bringing together the capabilities of our organizations, we can expand access, augment services, enhance clinical quality, and continue improving the health and well-being of people across the greater Denver metro, guided by our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ.”

“At Intermountain, our mission is helping people live the healthiest lives possible — patients and all those in the communities we serve. AdventHealth is strongly aligned on this focus,” said Rob Allen, president and CEO of Intermountain Health. "We are excited about the prospect of a joint venture that would expand access to high-quality care and create a more connected experience for patients and care teams across the greater Denver area.”

Under the agreement, AdventHealth will manage and lead daily operations, utilizing its whole-person care approach and aligned care platforms to support a connected experience for patients and care teams across the area.

Both organizations share a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and are thoughtfully evaluating how they plan to build on their respective capabilities to better serve patients, care teams, and the broader community. The transaction is expected to close in early 2027 and remains subject to regulatory approvals.

Intermountain Health’s Saint Joseph Hospital and affiliated clinics are not included in this joint venture. These facilities remain committed to their Catholic mission: We reveal and foster God's healing love by improving the health of the people and communities we serve, especially those who are poor and vulnerable. Intermountain continues to explore options for Saint Joseph Hospital and affiliated clinics, including potential partnerships.

Heavy police presence last night

Basically the title- does anyone have a clue as to why there were half a dozen or so police officers driving around and watching people at the apartment complexes near the 3 leaf farm? Had a buddy over and they were driving around our complex and through the parking lots, and when my friend left they were watching him to the point of creeping their cars forward and even driving into one of the fields over there and shutting all their lights off. Anyone know why?

Water tasting bad

The water at our house has been tasting like marsh for the last month. We flushed the water heater, but both cold and hot smell too. We have a filter in the kitchen, so it doesn't taste as much if you drink it immediately, but if it sits for an hour it tastes like pond water. Anybody else?

LD1 Proposed to be Eliminated in RTD's 2027 Budget

https://denverite.com/2026/07/14/rtd-16th-street-free-bus-budget-cuts/

Please take a look at either of these posts to understand that LD1 is on the chopping block for the 2027 budget year due to RTD's massive budget hole. As a weekly rider of the LD1, it would be highly disappointing. The LD1 is one of the main reasons I decided to settle down in Lafayette so I could easily commute to my job downtown.

The biggest question is why it is an all or none question. In 2025, the LD1 and LX1 vastly expanded, so why can't it be reduced back to the pre-'25, 2x per day, which always was almost full.

This would be something to bring up to our RTD Regional Board member, Karen Benker, as well as Rep Brown, Sen Wallace and City Council.

I need help managing the mowing and weeding in my yard. Will offer weekly cash ($50/week) OR can trade for meal prep, grocery shopping, home cooked meals, dog walking, or open to other conversations about trade. Life and work is insane right now we just can’t keep up.

FOUND CAT: Kimbark & S Roosevelt

UPDATE: Charlie the cat was identified by microchip and returned to his family!

We found this sweet fellow last night near Kimbark and S Roosevelt. He followed us home meowing and was very happy to eat a full meal.

Anyone know if he has a home or what his story is? We are going to check for a microchip today. He had a matte on his back and was very dirty, but is very friendly so definitely not a feral.

Please let me know if you’ve seen him before or know any details!

Does anyone know what happened to Paul from Alaska?

He used to hang out at Liquid Mechanics and West End. Sometimes you'd see him at Nissi's.... He just disappeared and nobody I've talked to knows what happened to him. I feel like he would have told someone if he was going back to Alaska for the summer and nobody knows where he is....

Mega Church Noise

Question for those of you who have lived in Southwest Old Town for a while.

Is the bass from Flatirons Community Church something everyone has accepted? I’m genuinely curious because I searched around and only found a petition from about five years ago, so I wasn’t sure if anything ever came of it.

I have no issue with people worshipping however they choose. It’s just the bass that seems to carry really far and can be pretty noticeable inside the house and makes sitting on the patio with a morning coffee annoying.

I’m mostly trying to understand whether this is just considered part of living in the area, or if other neighbors have had similar experiences. Also, has anyone had any success reaching out to the church or the city about it? Is there anything that can realistically be done to turn the bass down a bit, or is it simply within the allowed noise limits?

Edit #1:Guys…..

Bad news, they have a permit to make that much noise every weekend. They are allowed by the city to have base that loud Saturday at 5 and Sundays around 8 and 10. Again Lafayette city/ council/ who ever passes permits approved this. Noise complaints do nothing. I am willing to take this to city council and maybe start a petition, first time I’ve ever done something like this so any help would be appreciated.

Edit #2:

I’ve been given incorrect information, from a police officer…, so I’m editing again to correct it for anyone who is still paying attention. A permit only shields them from being cited for simply having an event; it does not protect them if the sound levels are objectively "detrimental to the health and welfare of the citizenry". With that new information I will be filing complaints with code enforcement when the disturbances occur. I have also emailed city council for public comment at one of the Tuesday meetings. I’ve never done anything like this and I’m just figuring out as I go. I can keep updating this as the battle progresses.

Hi all, I have some pretty uncomfortable and persistent tennis elbow. I've been to an Orthopedist and PT, but it's going on two years now, and still pretty painful. Does anyone have a recommendation for a practitioner in the area who has helped you or a friend recover? Thanks!
