I’m elated to finally be scoring in the 170s after months of studying. I’ve taken the LSAT three times already (twice in 2023 and once in 2024) and scored below 160 each time. I knew I wanted this cycle to be different and completely shifted my approach to the test, essentially started studying anew (after a year long break following the 2024-25 application cycle). My goal score is 175, and I scored a 172 with a merged section test last week. Pic is of my test that I took yesterday, timed under testing conditions.

I’m registered for the September administration and really want this next one to be THE one, but with the registration cutoff looming, should I proceed forward to September or delay until October? I haven’t gotten my goal score on a PT yet. Appreciate any advice anyone is willing to share! This has been a hell of a journey and I’m finally starting to feel good about this test 😅

I am not by any means good at this test but I have been working my ASS off lately while managing the end of my undergraduate studies ahead of Fall 2026 graduation and being a full time single Mom.

A couple weeks ago I hit my first -8 section. Today I hit my first -6.

While I still have a bit of work to do and my other sections including RC are stuck at 15 correct and vary from -11/-12 wrong, I’m very pleased to see another section where I’ve done well despite a bit of variance. I know with more review and enhanced strategy and approach I will be okay. I went from feeling like I couldn’t do this at all a couple of months ago to feeling like I can do this as long as I continue working towards it.

I’m currently stuck scoring in the low-mid 150s however I’m writing October or November (signed up for October will lock in firm Aug 27 as that’s the last day to make any changes). So I have a bit of time to improve.

I set a goal of 155 for October or November and 160 for January (planning to take again in January since I know I can do better, want to maximize my chances and in Canada - the last test admin for the 2027 application cycle is January). I’ll likely take AGAIN in June of 2027 even if it doesn’t count for the 2027 application cycle in aims to continue on the journey and get the highest score possible and finally see my LSAT journey come to an end in June of 2027.

But now I feel optimistic in thinking that if I continue to study well with meaningful review (since I’m past the fundamental stage entirely) I might be able to snag a 158 in October or November and a 160+ in January. I just know I need to keep working and I’m happy with where I am right now. I could do even better than what I expect in the fall but I like to be realistic.

So if you’re reading this and you struggle with the LSAT, please don’t give up but remember your approach, strategy and meaningful review mean so much more during this process than anything else.

I KNOW I CAN DO THIS. I KNOW I CAN MAKE IT INTO THE 160s (which makes me competitive alongside my strong CGPA and mature student status for my target schools in Canada).

Hi, everyone. In short, I have a turbulent academic record due to mental health issues that have since been resolved, leaving me with a poor GPA. How bad is it? I may not even be able to raise my cumulative to a 3.0 by the end of my Bachelor’s. I know I can get through law school if given the chance, but that’s the hard part; I need someone to give me a chance. I already know I’m out on a limb by being in this position, so I’m looking for a reality check. Give me some numbers - if I have a 2.6-2.8 GPA, graduating from a local college, how high does my LSAT score need to be, and is there a point in trying?

I am trying to implement a much more intensive review process for Reading Comprehension because my goal is to break into the 170s by September. Right now, I am struggling with how to review RC passages and questions I got wrong in a way that actually improves my skills instead of just confirming the correct answer.

For people who made significant improvements in RC, what did your review process look like after completing a passage?

More specifically:

• Did you reread the entire passage without time pressure?
• Did you create a passage summary, paragraph summaries, or a map of the author’s argument?
• For missed questions, did you write out why your answer was wrong and why the correct answer was right?
• How did you identify the exact mistake you made, such as misreading the passage, overlooking a viewpoint, misunderstanding the question stem, or choosing an answer that was too strong?
• Did you review questions you got right but were uncertain about?
• Did you redo the passage later, and if so, how long did you wait?

My biggest question is how to know when the review is complete. What should I be able to explain or demonstrate before moving on from a passage? Should I be able to justify every answer choice, summarize the passage from memory, identify the author’s purpose and attitude, and explain exactly where my reasoning went wrong?

I would really appreciate specific examples of your review routine, especially from anyone who improved RC enough to reach the high 160s or 170s.

I know there's a lot of negativity going around regarding the new interface. However, is there anything in the new interface that you find beneficial? It's not going away, so might as find ways to make life easier or just to have a brighter outlook on it.

I'll go first:

- I love how the text-search input is now displayed by default without having to toggle it on and off (as the banner could be distracting if left on).

- I love how I can highlight text without having to toggle the highlighters. Granted, I only really need one color for my purposes, and I can see how it may be more difficult for those who use multiple colors.

I guess the title is pretty self-explanatory, but I was wondering what you guys did to study for the LSAT. For context, I am a rising junior in college, so I feel I have a decent amount of time (but I know how quickly I could end up with very little time to study).I plan on taking a true diagnostic this week and I occasionally listen to an LSAT podcast while at work, but besides that I feel kind of lost on how to best utilize my time.

i've done practice problems equating to full sections, but never a complete timed test! i'm so relieved and pleasantly surprised. hopefully the trend continues

I started with a cold diagnostic of 165 in May with an RC score of -3. Since then, I have improved LR greatly and tend to get -1 or -2 on my LR sections. However, my RC scores are much more volatile, and I’m yet to do better than my diagnostic score in RC. I average around -4 but sometimes do worse. I’ve read and tried incorporating any and all advice I’ve come across but nothing seems to be working. I scored a perfect 36 on ACT reading and English in high school and have always considered myself a strong reader. Any advice on what helped people master RC is greatly appreciated!

Has anyone that is taking it remotely scheduled your exam on any day other than Friday??

It let me schedule to take it remote on Wednesday and I think it was a glitch so i dont know what to do.

Hello! I work full time (about 45-50 hours a week) and things are finally settling down at my job, so I plan to hunker down and study for the LSAT these next couple of months. I am familiar with the exam as I studied for it a few years back before I ended up joining corporate and working full time. I would like to apply for Fall 2027 and know that priority/early decision deadlines for most schools is November whereas regular deadline is early 2027. With that being said, would it be best to study for 2 months and take the October LSAT so I can apply for priority/ED, or would it be better to study an extra month and take the November LSAT but only be able to meet the regular deadline?

For context, I graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA from UCLA and have about 5 years of full-time work experience in HR.

CAN you guys provide me with few negation techniques in LR? I suck badly at it, it'll be really helpful for me if you guys do that. I'd be grateful, I'm not preparing for LSAT but a similar one which has LR so if you guys are experienced just dm me Or Comment on this post regarding negation techniques in LR.

Tbh I lose my marks because of LR so my accuracy isn't improving so please try to help me Or suggest me a better way even starting with basics again also I'll be okay, but yeah help me please

Okay I started out with a strong PT in March, and was making really good progress. Then after the 180 was finals week and I took too much time off before starting to study again. Now I just started my job and I'm studying after work but doing way worse. I'm supposed to take this in August which is like 2.5 weeks away and I'm kinda freaking out.

Granted, as you can see most of my scores are from merged sections, so I'm probably not as strong as they suggest. But I'm getting like really easy questions wrong now, it's not just that 6 point drop from the 178 -> 172. And it's probably a lot of mental exhaustion and not sleeping and so forth but I don't really have a choice I can't just stop working and now I feel like I'm gonna blow it on the test in August and I don't know what to do. I guess my plan is to just do drills on weekdays instead of timed sections and take full PT's on weekends.

Idk I'm just kinda super bummed and idk what to do. I know 172 is still strong but I thought I would be able to get higher. Hopefully this doesn't come off as like woe is me. Maybe there's no good answer but thought maybe some people have experience with this and were able to figure it out.

I’ve been thinking about going to law school and took two full length LSAT prep tests. The first one I took was prep test 140 timed as a diagnostic. I got a raw score of 167. I plugged my score report into Claude and also analyzed it myself and saw I had some general weaknesses in reading comprehension (as an engineering major I haven’t been reading long passages in a while). My LR seemed a little weird in that I got a higher number of low difficulty questions wrong and the time per question indicated that I moved through them too fast.

Using the knowledge from this, I took April 2025 disclosed test PDF. This was also strictly timed but I tried to maintain a strict pace where I didn’t rush through any question. I got -2 on LR section 1, -3 on LR section 2, and -3 on RC for a 170 total. Reading comprehension seems like straightforward practice. However LR seems like a pacing only issue. In LR section 1 I had to blind guess the last two questions and In LR section 2 the last 3. Out of the total -5 on LE questions, 4 were from guesses and only 1 from actual error (and I did get on guess right). How can I improve LR pacing and how fast can I get this done?

I am very scared because the exam that’s closest is an hour away and parking is really bad. If I have multi day and pause time accommodations is it possible that LSAT will allow me to take it remote because it may be disturbing to others.

I thought I could self study, but I’m worse off than when I started like my LR is declining. I need some sort of guidance because clearly I’m studying or doing something wrong or feeding into some blind spot. I don’t know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Whether it be tutor or just someone who was also in the same boat. The more I study, the worse my overthinking gets. I’ll start getting Level 3–4 Flaw questions right, but then turn around and miss Level 1s because I’m hyper-analyzing basic words or talking myself into ridiculous "what-if" scenarios.
