Planning to take the WELL AP exam later this year. Posting here because I dont have any idea where can I post about WELL AP

I'm looking for study guides or reviewers but honestly can't afford to drop a huge amount of cash on expensive prep packages right now.

For anyone who’s passed it:
- What study guides, practice tests, or resources are actually worth buying? Are there any good budget-friendly or free ones, or should I just stick to the official free WELL v2 PDFs?

- How long did you study for it? Realistically, how many weeks or months of prep am I looking at to pass on the first try?

- How brutal is the memorization? Do I need to memorize every single metric and threshold, or is it more about understanding the concepts?

- In comparison to LEED GA exam, is the type of question similar? Not heavy on terms but more of a practical question

Any tips or strategies would be awesome. Thanks!

I’m a structural engineer with three years of bridge experience, recently passed the PE exam, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s. I can take the LEED Green Associate exam for around $100 with the student discount. Is it worth getting if I don’t currently work on LEED projects but may pursue broader structural opportunities later?

Hi, everyone. I'm looking to purchase a hardcopy text book/prep book to prep for the LEED V5 GA. I don't have much money to spare (a max of 130 usd perhaps which is about 500 in my currency) but I'd still like to purchase a hardcopy book and supplement my studies with other more affordable or free online resources. If there's one comprehensive hardcopy book, which would you absolutely recommend? Also appreciate any preparatory tips or free/affordable (under 50 usd) online resources that has helped you pass the exams. Thank you so much

I'd appreciate some advice. I purchased the LEED AP BD+C v4 study and exam resources before the transition to v5. Had to delay my exam and I'm now wondering whether those materials are still sufficient to prepare for and pass the current exam, or if I should purchase additional resources to cover the changes introduced in v5.

If anyone has recently passed the exam V5 using only the v4 preparation materials, I'd love to hear about your experience and how you approached your studying.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share my experience with the LEED V5 GA exam I completed today online with Prometric. The Reddit community really helped me prepare for this exam. It was fairly easy if you understand the concepts well. I took the exam online from the comfort of my home and completed in under 45 minutes.

I highly recommend taking the Udemy LEED V5 GA exam prep course by Shadi (I believe it's the same as his Archiroots course) which I found very helpful for my prep. In addition, if you have some funds to spend, I highly recommend the GBES practice exams ($87.50 with discount) as the content was very helpful for this exam. I also used the free GreenCE LEED V5 exam prep course and practice exams. I also gave in and did buy the exam relay study deck and practice exams ($37) but frankly did not use the material too much for this exam.

I did not buy the official LEED Core Concepts Guide, 5th edition, and was able to complete the exam with the above mentioned Udemy course and practice exams. I spent about 2 weeks for my prep. I work full-time so everyday after work, spent about 2-3 hours reviewing content and taking practice exams.

I hope this is helpful info! I plan to take my LEED AP BD+C eventually but have to wait until I get my final score for the LEED GA exam which is schedule for release in Oct 2026 after the beta testing is completed.

took the LEED GA v5 exam this mid-June, and I’d say it’s fairly easy as long as you understand the concepts. I studied using the LEED Green Associate Study Guide. The practice questions are quite different from the actual exam, but if you’ve read and understood the concepts in the book, answering the questions is pretty straightforward. There were a few questions that were a bit confusing because some of the choices were really similar to each other. Hoping for the best since the results won’t be released until October.

I wanted so much to share a positive result with this community. But with some personal things and ongoing world cup, my proocrastination has been at its all time high. I registered for the exam with exactly one month in hand. Ended up studying only 4 days (this Monday through Thursday). Was so angry upon myself that I didn't care studying on Friday. Attended the exam today and somehow I passed with a 173.

I don't recommend anyone taking it for granted like me. I work as a Mechanical Consultant and also passed my GA a few weeks back. These might be the reasons that it worked out for me. But if you are serious of being an AP, consider giving it your best for atleast 3-4 weeks.

With the base that was created from passing GA, I only went through 2 practice tests from GBES. While I never spend/recommend spending money on 3rd party exam prep resources, I have to be honest that those Q&A were really helpful and I got few of them in the exam too.

Has anyone had experience with the Udemy LEED study material? It's relatively inexpensive and has pretty good reviews. I just don't really hear people talking about it.

I passed the LEED AP BD+C exam yesterday—right under the wire on the penultimate day before the v5 transition! 🏁

It was noticeably tougher than the Green Associate. Since so many people here helped me along the way, I wanted to share a quick debrief for anyone currently prepping:

🔹 The Surprises: There was a much heavier focus on Integrative Process (IP), Commissioning (Cx), and Minimum Program Requirements (MPR) than I expected. Don't skim these just because the other categories are larger!

🔹 The Format: Zero multiple-select questions on my draw.

🔹 The Strategy: I took my time, finishing the initial 100 questions in 1.5 hours. I used the remaining time to review every single question, submitting with just 5 minutes left.

Thank you to everyone in this community who answered my questions and shared insights. Combining this with my PMP, I am incredibly excited to bring a sustainability-driven management mindset to my upcoming projects. Time to get to work as this is just the beginning!

Hello, I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on managing / submitting a LEED BD+C project. Or maybe there's a guide or an example project somewhere?

I've started at a firm recently and there's no one at the company working on LEED projects. We somehow got a LEED client and the company doesn't have anyone with experience. It's my first LEED project and I'm the main PM. I'm doing my best but it's honestly overwhelming and I'm not sure if I'm missing stuff or what final submittals will look like.

I've been going through sample forms on LO and Arc but I always feel like I'm dropping the ball on something or another.

Ah where do i start. Grueling for the past 2 weeks has paid off handsomely.

trust me it was not a walkthrough but im sure if i can do, anyone can achieve this certification.

Coming to the exam, i dont think it was that difficult as i imagined it to be. Loris credit sheet was a game changer. trust me when i say this, GBES has the best practice tests wrt this exam.

dont run around by hearting all the standard for everything. i think i got 3 question just to identify ASHRAE 62.1, 90.1 and 55. rest didnt even show up on the test. Also IAQ and MR had me worried but its was kind off easy comparing to the overall.

Hello All,

Today I was supposed to take me LeedAP BD+C V4 exam. I began the check-in process at approximately half our ago before my appointed time and successfully completed all required security and verification steps. However, when I reached the final stage before exam starts, the system repeatedly redirected me restart the application to try again instead of connecting me to a proctor, saying unable to connect to a proctor. I attempted to proceed more than 50 times and spent a significant amount of time troubleshooting the issue, but unfortunately I was never able to enter the exam session. As a result, I was unable to sit for the exam despite being present and ready well before the scheduled start time. I tried to reach ProProctor support, all they could do was make me reinstall the application, of course it did nothing. Long story short, I couldn't take my exam.

I sent e-mails to everywhere, GCBI, Proctor, still waiting for response. Is there anyone else encountered a problem like that and is there anything anyone recommend me to do? Thank you.

What do people recommend for study materials for the GA V5 beta?

I've registered last minute to take the exam June 29th, but feel reasonably confident about cramming for it over the next week. Want to make sure the materials I'm using are up to par though.

I don't really want to shell out 200 for the GBES platinum pack but will if I have to. It's more economical to just get the official LEED core concepts guide but unsure if one of these packages will do better. Have heard bad things about ExamRelay

I'm also planning on taking the AP BD+C in the fall, so should I bite the bullet and just get the Archiroots package for both for $300??

Done with the exam, and took it in Prometric Centre.

No Pass/ Fail remarks as immediate result after clicking the Finished Test Button. They will just send you a NOTICE OF COMPLETION, to your e-mail which you used for registering.

We will need to wait til October to see result.

I have high hopes I pass it. Quite tricky but not too difficult.

Has anyone passed LEED AP Neighborhood Development? How close was the exam to the GBES practice questions?

I used the practice exam packages from both Archiroots and GBES

I kept procrastinating and putting off studying until May 2nd, when I decided to officially book the exam to force myself to start. I scheduled the test for May 25th, which left me with only 22 days to prepare.

During this period, I relied entirely on the practice exams for my preparation and did not use any other books or references. The great thing about these questions is that after every answer, they explain why a choice is correct or incorrect, which helped me actually understand the material rather than just memorize it. For questions that included specific numbers and standards, I just memorized them as they were.

With repeated practice, the information stuck in my head until I started scoring 90% on the practice tests. Thank God, I passed the real exam on May 25, 2026, after just 22 days of preparation.

The reason I rushed to take it now was my desire to pass the exam before the current LEED version changes on June 28th. Studying for a brand-new version would be difficult due to the lack of past questions or available explanations. Based on my experience, the remaining time until June 28 is more than enough for anyone who wants to prepare and pass.

I recently passed my LEED Green Associate Exam last March. I just read the article from USGBC that they are extending the registrations of
LEED v4 Projects to June 2027. I was just wondering if it also encompasses the LEED AP Examinations for v4 or are they still proceeding to do
LEED v5 AP Beta Exams?
