Peak parking ticket
Has anyone gone through the parking appeal proces? I got a citation yesterday and I am wondering if they wave it for a discounted price for first time offense when you appeal.

I'm kind of stuck deciding what to do and would love to hear from people who've been in a similar situation.
I'm currently registered to start at CSUN this fall as a biology major freshman, but lately I've realized I'm not even sure biology is what I want to do anymore. My long-term goal has always been to transfer to a school like SDSU or a UC, and I also really want the experience of living in a new city and being on a more traditional college campus.
The thing is, CSUN seems like a great school, so part of me feels like I should just stay. On the other hand, I'm wondering if starting at Pierce College would make more sense since I'd have more time to figure out my major, save money, and possibly have a better chance of transferring somewhere I'd be excited to spend my last two years.
One thing I've been thinking about is that I've heard CSUN is a commuter school, and I'm worried it might not feel much different socially from going to Pierce since I'd probably be commuting either way. I don't know if that's actually true, so I'd love to hear from people who've attended either school.
I've also thought about just trying CSUN for one semester and then switching to Pierce if it doesn't feel right.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If you had the choice between starting at a CSU or going to community college with the goal of transferring, what would you do? Do you regret either decision?

Why is this program already a mess! First of all they don’t tell us what the passwords or codes are and when you email back to them they completely ignore . The vibe is already getting ruined and the teachers have horrible reviews and I feel like that’s my sign to drop out ?? The energy of the cohort is like not it and I feel like I can go somewhere else that respects there students and doesn’t try to “ Weed out” the weak 🚩 my experience so far is a 2/10

I have been having trouble with fafsa over the couple weeks and this past week Fafsa said that I need to take verification at pierce college forms and it asked me questions of my parents 2024 taxes and my parents 2024 tax transcript. Well yesterday I got my pagents 2024 tax transcript and uploaded. Since I uploaded it took the further action required and I got an emailed that I submitted it. Now in the morning of today my portal said that further action required again even though I did everything they told me to do, and when I check in the pierce college forms it said you’re all caught up. So I don’t understand why it still says forget action required on my portal.

Auuugh I’m so nervous. I submitted my SAP appeal on Thursday…
For context, I received a Financial Appeal Needed email on Thursday because I haven’t completed enough + I think my gpa… It was recommended to appeal, so I did the whole online thing…
But I’m still nervous! I already paid for my Fall 2026 Semester but I don’t know if I can buy everything that I need supply wise… I read it takes 45 days to get a response but if it takes longer, what do I do?
I also haven’t been able to return books yet (won’t be able to til like august 31st most likely) so I have a library fine… I emailed the library explaining I still have the books but just can’t drop them off yet…
Auuughhhh…

If anybody has taken the child development practicum course CD22 with Professor Reed can you please provide insight? I wanted to know if the practicum hours are flexible say if I had another class ends at 9:05am but the hours require 9-12:15? Am I able to push the hours back to 9:15? or even try to get a whole week worth of hours done in one day? Or is it more strict?

I’m confused how to find a work study job on campus or do they send out flyers? How are people getting on campus jobs?

Counselor didn’t quite help but I’ll do another appointment best they can do is 30min because they’re so packed.
I’m pursuing communications to just get a ba from csun. I’m just an average c student that can’t stem for a csu. I guess I’m just limited to my intelligence.
Thinking of pairing this up with certifications I’ll pick up along the way maybe in HR. You can make up to 80-120k in the first 2 yrs. I feel like going to a technical trade college would be better.. atleast you learn an actual skill there. Are we all wasting our time here?? There should be a daily outcry from people not getting jobs 😫

Hi everyone!
I am a local high school student researcher doing an independent policy study. I am investigating how federal F-1 visa work restrictions (like the 20-hour on-campus limit and the off-campus work ban) interact with the high cost of living right here in Los Angeles County.
If you are an international student, could you please take 2 minutes to fill out my completely anonymous survey?
Important Note: This study is strictly non-political. The survey focuses entirely on economic logistics, campus job availability, and local cost of living. It does not collect names, student IDs, political opinions, or legal statuses.
Your insights will directly help me build a comprehensive regional policy brief to deliver to our local U.S. Congressional district offices and college leadership.

Thank you so much for your time and for helping a student researcher out!

I am supposed to be graduating next week, but the issue is I got a D in one class. To be exact I got a 69.88%. Knowing the teacher she probably won’t curve it. Idk how badly this will affect me but now I’m not sure if I’ll graduate or be able to transfer. It isn’t an A-G requirement, it’s part of the ASSIST.org thing. Does any one know what’s going to happen to me?

Returning student and remembered fall isn’t much substance as students drop off when it gets colder. Has anyone performed especially in their semester showcases? At the theatre? Is it only spring?
I’ve messaged the faculty but have not got any responses.

What do you think a comms BA would do? I read a lot of people still struggling and having to still apply to indeed jobs right after graduating. I assumed csun classes would atleast give you some sort of career group mentorship or building so that you’ve got some asking for you as much as you would be applying. Just a scary thought 😞

What other “surprise” grad requirements do we all need, like how you needed ethnic studies
I just learned I needed ethnic studies, I’ll take Chicano because all others are not yet state approved.
I should have taken this in pierce because they’re more expensive in CSUN. This sucks. Though I think I can still sign up for pierce while in csun. Can anyone confirm?
What other surprise courses do we need in general???? I think ethnic studies is required for anyone regardless of path or major. I’m in comms 2.0 now.

TMI but I (18F) want to start birth control because of my periods being so heavy (or super light), painful, and irregular… I heard it’d help…
Can I walk into the health clinic? Where is it? And is it confidential? My mom does not approve and would like assume the worst…

Hi! I was just reenrolled as a student and received an email with my ID number since I forgot mine and directions for first time log in. It’s not working! Is this because I can’t get on right away or because technically this isn’t my first time logging in since I was a student several years ago? I appreciate any help!

I’ve had friends who tried everything getting double AA or a BS. if you did not start early in your sophomore high school, prepare to be disappointed, you have to almost had a perfect A’s for something like UCLA. Getting in a big name is prob worth the effort if BS but both are just filters.
Do the BA then Masters or PhD socio or comms, even media will be park walk (if not stem) then you can go to UCLA. Save up while or with your BA, then find a job in campus or get paid in the UC but say good bye to about six or eight more years of your life. Nothing is impossible of course and just keep trying. But we have TikTokers making 3 figures with just a HS degree.
BA then load up on certifications for whichever you specialize in. If you want no body aches this is the way for office white collar, but just make sure the small to medium business you’re getting into actually has a team. You’re better than being treated as the wears all hats unicorn. Get out of the real estate carousel too, if ur not in accounting or business a BA with trades and certs is better than nothing, it’s HRs loss if they overlook yours.

I am thinking about taking poly sci 1 or political science 7 with Professor Thomas Klein. Has anyone ever taken his classes? Is he a good professor? Any advice is welcomed!

So like I know there are courses on microprocessors, etc. as well as PCB Design courses. What programming languages are taught in the electronics major at Pierce?
