Hi, I am a dutch guy, 28 years old.

I am thinking about spending some time in Ukraine. I would like to help with reconstruction of damaged buildings, although I might be short on experience. Are there any organisations that would take guys like me in? If so, where would the work most likely be? Furthermore, how much would it cost to live there?

I would start first with traveling through Ukraine for 2 months or so. Does anyone have tips on this aswell

Historical note

The Dynamo voluntary sports society’s open-air swimming pool was one of the key aquatic facilities in Soviet-era Kyiv. Situated in a park zone in the city center, the complex served as a major training ground for swimmers and divers, as well as a venue for republican and Union-wide competitions.

Present day

In subsequent decades, the outdoor pool ceased to exist in its original form. The territory of the Dynamo sports complex underwent renovation, and today, modern athletic and administrative facilities of the Kyiv football club stand in place of the old open-air stands and pool basin.

Хочу оновити телефон і задумуюсь де зазвичай люди купують техніку, розумію, що замовлення в інтернеті ніхто не відміняв, але більше довіряю фізичним магазинам. Зараз найбільше схильний до комфі, але якщо є поради і досвід - буду радий почитати. Бюджет в мене 15-20к, хочу щоб була норм камера та акумулятор добре тримав заряд. Рік випуску не принципово, тут більш головне, щоб магазин надав нормальну консультацію та сервіс, і звісно гарантію на товар. Заздалегідь дякую!

I'm most likely coming over to the country soon and I wonder how much things cost in the country right now. You know the usual stuff, a room, food, coffee at a bar and cigarettes and all of that. I would like to know how expensive it is to survive in the country. Not any luxurious living just to get by. I want to have the funds to last a month or 2 because I think it's a necessity. In between using my phone walking around aimlessly and drinking coffee somewhere for an unusual long time I can be entertained without much. I'll come alone

Хочу потроху оновити гардероб і цього разу більше дивлюся не на тренди, а на якість та склад тканини. Хотілося б купити речі, які не втрачають вигляд після прання і які можна носити не один сезон. Поки переглядала різні магазини, натрапила і на 25union. com. ua, але досвіду з ними не маю. Які українські бренди ви самі можете порадити? Цікавить саме особистий досвід: що носите вже давно і що дійсно виправдало очікування.

Місто 400 тисяч населення… варто відкривати клінінгову компанію зараз чи пральню біля студмістечка( чи спальний район)? Як Ви вважаєте?

Я з Одеси та коли я приїхав до Києва, подивитись на столицю - то дуже швидко прийшов до думки "Ніколи б не хотів тут жити". Київ залишив враження дуже тісного, не дуже чистого та зовсім не комфортного для життя міста.

Я не роздивився усе місто, звичайно. Я бічив лиш центр, південну частину та лівий берег, де й жили друзі що мене прийняли. Але враження таке було, ніби це місто з Cities:Skylines. Дуже багато дуже крутих штук збито у центрі, за принципом "аби втулити" а місце, де, я так зрозумів, живе більшість киян - виглядає як великоповерхове гетто.

В Одесі є проблема з безвідповідальною забудовою від компаній типу Кадор та Гефест. Але на фоні київських етажерок - я навіть полюбив рідні людяшники. Деякі місця, навіть біля метро - виглядали нібито зовсім нікому не потрібними, брудними, хаотичними, депрессивними.

Може я дивився не той Київ що варто було та є і досить приємні місця не у самому центрі і не дуже мажорні, де приємно жити? Але врешті я відчув що в Києві комфортно жити якщо тобі не треба дивитися навкруги. Тобто тільки якщо ти настільки занурений у роботу, навчання чи якусь іншу діяльність, що бачиш перед собою лиш свої амбіції та майбутні гроші радше ніж місто де ти живеш. А кайф ловиш у дорогих закладах чи дома, перед великим телеком за грою чи серіалами. Підхід такий не засуджую, якшо шо, але в цьому контексті - виглядає якось жорстко.

Готовий почути усю критику та засудження від патріотів рідного міста. Не в якому разі не кажу, що сформував думку остаточно і назавжди. Якщо чесно - я б хотів вірити, що просто не дуже добре розробив свої туристичні маршрути та нахватався неприємного досвіду, коли міг би насолодитись чимось цикавішим. Але хочу почути думку місцевих.

traveling to Kyiv. Any advice on places to see, restaurants and social places and bars.

Привіт усім, через два тижні потрібно переїхати в Київ по роботі. Переїждаю з більш безпечної області, тому хочеться почути якісь поради, проблеми з якими прийдеться стикнутись. Знаю, що є схожі пости, але обстановка різко міняється, тому інформація стає неактуальною дуже швидко (на фоні останніх подій). Насамперед, шукаю +- безпечний район для життя з умовою, що локація роботи знаходиться в Оболонському районі, ближче до центру.
Ще в загальному цікаво як вам живеться в столиці. Буду радий почути будь-яку думку)

Hundreds of protesters gathered in central Kyiv on July 16, demanding the reinstatement of dismissed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

Sources tell the Kyiv Independent the dismissal stems from an alleged conflict between Fedorov and Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, alongside President Volodymyr Zelensky’s belief that Fedorov failed mobilization reforms. While Zelensky has stated he wants political and military leadership “on the same page,” demonstrators at the scene told the Kyiv Independent they view the decision as a critical mistake they hope will be reversed.

The rallies follow mounting criticism of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to replace Fedorov. Soldiers, volunteers, and civil society figures have warned that removing the highly regarded minister mid-reform threatens Ukraine's wartime defense and technological capabilities.
