Announcements Rule Update: Self Promotion only allowed on Fridays moving forward!

Hi All,

To help keep the subreddit free of consistent self promotion we will be altering the self promotion rule, the new rules for self promotion posts are as follows:

- Self promotion posts are only permitted on Fridays

- You must use the 'Self Promotion' flair else the post will be removed and you may be banned.

- We will remove the 500 Karma requirement for posting links

- Your account will still need to be older than 30 days to post

- We will only accept self promotion posts for Kickstarter campaigns.

Thanks,

Mod team

I built an app nobody found, so I built the thing that posts for me

Roamly - Trip Planner was my last project. App for couples who travel together. 56 users. That's it.

Not because the app is bad. I'd spend a lot of time shipping features and then have nothing to post. Marketing was always tomorrow's problem.

So I built the thing I actually needed.

Klipsy makes the post, publishes it, and tells me if it worked:

  • short videos, image posts, text posts — faceless, no camera
  • posts straight to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and X (official APIs)
  • runs on a schedule, or asks me first if I want
  • one dashboard for views, likes, comments, shares
  • ranks my templates so I know what to make next
  • mcp connection to analyze your data

It's posting for me while I code. That's the whole pitch.

Not open yet, letting people to join waitlist first: theklipsy.com/waitlist

If you've got the same problem — good product, dead socials — tell me what would actually make you use this?

Should I build in public?

I’m building an alarm clock for people who find it hard to wake up early in the morning and who are prone to procrastination – those people who’d like to wake up early but, after trying it on the first day, go back to their old habits on the second. I know this because I’m exactly that sort of person, and I want to solve the problem for myself as well.

These people need someone or something to force them to get up early for enough days to ensure that it becomes a habit.

Most people who try to make a difficult change give up after the first few days and, as a result, fail to establish the habit in their minds.

My invention aims to solve this problem for those who want to wake up early and on time.

I’ve spent the last three months assessing the feasibility and shaping the design and functionality of the product; now I’m starting to build the prototype, and a doubt has cropped up: should I build it in public?

Where should I do it? Here on Reddit? On Twitter/X? Or should I not do it at all?

For now, I don’t fancy making elaborate videos on YouTube or Instagram because my English isn’t great, and it would be a much bigger commitment than posting text updates with photos.

Discussion Are limited quantity, super expensive tiers worth it?

So I've seen campaigns that have a total funding goal of say $500, and a top 1 of 1 tier reward for $350; or a $50k campaign with a $25k top tier reward. (i.e., a single backer can complete 50-80% of your campaign)

I've been scanning Kickstarter for a few months now, and it seems like unless it's a campaign with a massive audience (guaranteed thousands of backers), these don't sell. Which means they're just a distraction, right?

Just trying to wrap my head around them. I know they can be huge wins when they work. But is having them sit there empty a deterrent to lower backers?

Thanks - and sorry this question is a bit rambly!

Discussion Using "World's Best Exciting New Product" in campaigns (is annoying)

To all those who start a new campaign, one piece of advice: Describing something as the "World's Best Exciting New Product" has zero meaning when I see this used on almost every new campaign. It also sounds like this is a marketing ploy, grossly overused, by an Asian marketing firm.

Just stop already!

I am developing a product that uses vacuum insulation technology to retain heat. On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely would you be to pay for a solution like this? And here are some designs :)

Question Crowdfunding my clock business

I have a little hobby where I make cedar clocks. I am looking to get into crowdfunding so I can get more and larger laser engravings so I can make them more efficiently and larger ones. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where I should start? I am a disabled veteran and woodworking has really helped me handle the recent issues in my life.

What kind of photo should I use for the main kickstarter pre-launch pic for card game?

I'm making my pre-launch page now and I was going to do a dual launch but decided to focus on a social card game. Should I do the classic people sitting around a table playing cards. None of my friends have beards, will that photo loose it's appeal without the cliche aspect? I really wish I could come up with a clever way to include the app with the game, they have the same philosophy.

I am the person doing the dual kickstarter campaign(card game/gig app). I can include app credits as bonuses in the prize tiers. None of you had advice! I was a little surprised at that. Still open to ideas for that because the game is like a small representation of the app, all very Humanist

If you were scrolling Kickstarter, what kind of image would make you stop and click on a social connection card game?

I'd love any feedback on presenting the game ~Anytime

Question Pre-Launch page: How much info did you include?

I've seen pages with the full story laid out, and others with only a single image. Just wanted to know if there's a best practice I should be applying, or if anyone with multiple campaigns can say which worked better for them.

Thank you!

We just launched OAYSA – an AI-powered plant pot that waters your plants automatically

Hi everyone!

I'm Mark, the founder of OAYSA, and after several years of development we've officially launched on Kickstarter today.

OAYSA was born from a simple problem I saw throughout my 20+ years working in horticulture: people love having plants, but many struggle to keep them alive because they don't know exactly when or how much to water them.

So we asked ourselves...

What if your plant pot could do it for you?

OAYSA combines a hidden water reservoir, smart technology and AI to help take the guesswork out of plant care. Simply place your plant in the pot, identify it through the app, and OAYSA creates a watering schedule based on that plant's needs.

Our goal isn't to replace the enjoyment of growing plants—it's to help people become more successful at it, while reducing water waste and preventing unnecessary plant loss.

Launching a hardware startup has been an incredible journey, and today is a milestone our team has been working towards for years.

I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback from the Kickstarter community. We're always looking to improve, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the campaign, the product, or the rewards.

If you'd like to take a look, here's the campaign:

Pre-launch Meta Ads for a niche tabletop game: how do you find the RIGHT audience and keep lead costs down?

I'm running Meta ads for the pre-launch of a niche board game aimed at sports fans. Building an email/VIP list ahead of a Kickstarter. I've got a working funnel (ad to landing page to $1 reservation) and I'm optimizing before I scale.

What's working so far: my core sports-fan interest audience clearly outperforms broader "board game" or "tabletop" interests. The board gamers just don't convert for me, the sport fans do.

Where I'm stuck:

Finding the RIGHT sub-audiences within sports fans without going too broad or too narrow. Any approach that worked for you for niche interest targeting?

Keeping cost per lead down as I test creative. My leads convert to reservations at a healthy rate, but the cost per lead is higher than I'd like.

When did you decide you'd "found" your audience and were ready to scale, vs still testing?

I'm working with a pre-launch agency, but I'd love to hear from people who've actually run this kind of niche campaign. What did you wish you'd known?

Thanks.

It's called Artificial Money: A Cautionary Tale of AI Slop, Money, Influencer, and Newfies.

It's about a high school graduate and struggling writer from Newfoundland who falls for an online tutorial scam claiming that people can make money using artificial intelligence tools, sending him on a path of self-destruction.

The Kickstarter launches on August 21, 2026, at 12 AM PDT, but you are welcome to sign up to get notified about its launch.

In Campaign Marketing Ideas

Hi all. I'm currently mid kickstarter campaign for our product the WAGGIN G1. It's a backpack that transforms into a pet stroller and bike trailer. We are getting backers, and have met out our Kickstarter goal, but want to keep the momentum going. Outside of running meta ads, what are some other things you've done to market and get more backers mid campaign?
