Welcome Gireviks and Girevitchkas!
This is the r/KettlebellSport Discussion Thread posted every Monday, where you can discuss anything related to Girevoy Sport (GS). Training logs, competition prep discussion, and technique/programming questions are all welcome! You are also allowed to vent all you want about how hard this shit is because - spoiler alert - it's really fucking hard. Commiserating with friends makes it a little easier :)
General kettlebell questions/comments/concerns (not related to Kettlebell Sport) are welcome here too, although you'll get far more eyes over at the normal people sub, r/kettlebell.
I'm going to put to put together some more info for beginners but in the meantime feel free to refer to this spectacular resource from the one and only Tally. We wait patiently for his return.

First post here but I know many of you guys from instagram. Just going to share my shoulder mobility routine, I’m still a novice but I have improved my rack and overhead position a lot over the last year and a half so maybe it will help someone else.
I’m just going to name these exercises by what comes to mind 😂😂 also no particular order.
Spam chest and anterior deltoid with lacrosse ball, spam scapula with lacrosse ball, vertical arm pull with external rotation bias, trap stretch palm up and pulling head down with other arm, internal rotation band stretch, javelin stretch, external rotation drill against bench holding a stick, stick rotations, horizontal arm pull with band, eagle pose with back breathing.
Also hanging from a bar everyday for like 5 minutes is great. Switching back and forth between supinated and pronated grip.
Here’s a video I kind of run through them in order of this list. No scientific protocol for time and stuff- do what feels good and consistently 😄

EDIT: I can’t format anything properly on Reddit.

The way to the 32 is really hard. Today, I got 69 Reps in 4 Min, always the Same question, slow pace or fast pace to get the 100. Goal is, to perform 100 with the big bells this year. We will see. Actually is only 2 KG more and approx 30 Reps more, 15 each Hand...but you know...

What’s up guys?
Scheduling is proving to be exactly as tough as I imagined 🤣
I think it would be best to have at least two a month so there’s options for everybody, one on a weekday and one on a weekend.
I’m tentatively looking at one Tuesday at 22:00 UTC. Is that 10 pm UTC? So 3 pm (PT), 4 pm (MST), 5 pm (UTC-4), and 6 pm (EST). It’s also the buttcrack of dawn for everybody else so I was thinking we could do another one on Sunday at 15:00 UTC. I think that would be 8 am (PT), 4 pm (UTC+1), 5 pm (UTC+2), 6 pm (UTC+3), and somewhere between those times for everybody else in North America. Please feel free to double check lol. I’m sure I made a mistake somewhere. Let me know if that works or if anyone has a better idea let me know!!
Clip is the end of my first 12’ set. Pace was 10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,15 🥳

I don't know why... But warmups are one of the biggest hurdle for me. I just find it boring and uninspiring (silly I know). My usual routine is to do some circuit of squats, pushups and situps to get the blood pumping all over, and if I feel motivated I finish off with some burpees or jump squats. Then joints warmup with shoulders, elbows, wrists. Then I feel out some 5-10 cleans presses and jerks on both sides.
I usually workout before the family wakes up, and for some reason, when my motivation and willpower is low, this is what stops me. I wish I could just crash straight out of bed and into a pentathlon first thing in the morning.
So... What are your most effective, simple, and happy warmups that keeps you from messing something up? I want to find my silver bullet that gets me going in the morning :-)

A great weekend in Bendigo for the Strength Sports Australia nationals
I competed in the half snatch marathon as I needed to complete this for my second qualifying event for the world's in Scotland in November
I used a 20kg weight and completed 891 reps on the 60 Min time frame
Leading up to the comp 3 weeks out I had a fly for 2 weeks which resulted in no training
Then I was able to do 4 session to get used to what 60 mins would feel like and how to handle things happening during the set and the fatigue at different time points
Then a week out I got food poisoning that cleared up one day prior tothe comp so again no real training
During the hour I kept on track and got my target reps for each 10 mins as I had paper on the floor saying you need to be here at this point
My rep counting app as well kept me on track as well
It was my best set ever in this event and I can't wait to start getting ready for November
The drive home though was torture 2.5 hours in the car when your cant move your arms properly
