You guys it blows my mind how the dealership experience can be WILDLY different from one to another… the one I got my 2023 at was an absolute nightmare and I was so hesitant going to the place I went today. I had all of my service work done on my 2023 there and their service dept was great so I took a chance and it was so lovely.

It looks like the water pump is leaking. On their website it states that the water pump is covered by the power train warranty which they told me the car was still under.

I recently purchased a kia sportage. I recently found out it was in a collision prior to purchase. I am now looking for an outline of what parts it’s missing, or needs to be replaced under the bumper on the front left. So far I already know it needs a headlight assembly, front bumper cover, wheel liner cover. But i’m unsure on what is missing or what the parts are called. The dealer is doing the work on the car, but I want to make sure it’s done right, replacing everything needed.

I just want to preface I’m completely lost when it comes to cars and engines. So I have a 2020 Kia Sportage and in the last few months I’ve noticed that my car has started to retain water somewhere in the engine compartment area. I mainly notice it after it’s rained. So the next part I’m about to say I know sounds a little crazy but I don’t know how else to describe it. So whenever I make a left turn I can hear the water falling which is how I noticed the retaining water in the first place. After and during the waterfall the car runs fine, there’s no issues and no lights come on. The water only falls when I turn left, so right turns are fine. After a few left turns I can get rid of most of the water and the falling water stops, then doesn’t start again until it rains again. I’ve tried to look to see where the water might be sitting but don’t see anything. Also not sure where to even look. I’ve taken it in to get something else fixed and mentioned the water thing to the mechanic but he wasn’t able to hear anything because I think all the water was gone by the time it had gotten to him. I just want to get rid of the water spot because getting in my car after it’s been sitting isn’t fun. It feels muggy and the inside of the car can get humid. Occasionally I even find condensation on the inside of my car on the windshield. Please tell me someone else has this issue or maybe knows what the issue possible could be.

P.S. I was told that the frame has plugs that some times can get clogged so that might be where the water is but when I took it in to get the other problem fixed they said the plugs weren’t clogged.

I just bought a good used 2015 Kia Sedona LX with (I believe) the Type A gauge cluster - it has the small rectangular red LED display between the gauges that basically shows the current gear and the odometer. When I shift the vehicle into Park, the doors automatically unlock. I would like to disable that feature. Google is giving me instructions that don't correspond to the buttons I have on my steering wheel/display screen. I saw a forum post where somebody suggested it might need to be changed by the dealer. Can anybody give me info on whether this is something I can do, and if so, how?

Hey all, I’m looking for some advice! I have a 2018 Kia Soul with about 114k miles which started doing odd things on a long road trip (loss of thrust basically) twice when I had drive about 200mi continuously and was going up a hill at highway speeds. Took it to a mechanic who said that the transmission fluid shows signs of overheating and slippage, and he can see some clutch material is missing. He said I could probably keep it going for a few years if I only drive it locally but I’m eventually looking at transmission replacement. Would you keep it going? Look into transmission replacement? It just accept defeat and start car searching? Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

I have a 2018 Kia Soul Exclaim. The car has been dependable and fun to drive. I called the dealer today about my BSD failure. I was told I need to leave the car all day and $200 to diagnose the problem. That does not include the repair cost. Is this legit? How hard can it be to detect this problem?

Hi everyone! I have a 2020 Kia Rio S with the original factory touchscreen radio. I originally wanted to update the radio so it would have the newer Kia interface/software like the 2022 Kia Forte GT-Line/GT, but it sounds like that may not be possible with my original hardware.
If I keep my original 2020 Kia Rio radio, is there any way to add or activate built-in navigation/maps, SiriusXM, or wireless Apple CarPlay?
Specifically:
Can factory Kia navigation software be installed on a non-navigation Rio radio?
Is there an official Kia firmware/software update that adds navigation?
Can SiriusXM be activated if my radio doesn’t currently show a SiriusXM option?
Can I upgrade from wired Apple CarPlay to wireless Apple CarPlay while keeping the factory radio?
Would I need a separate SiriusXM tuner, antenna, USB module, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module, or other OEM Kia hardware?
Has anyone upgraded a 2018–2020 Kia Rio factory radio to add any of these features while keeping the original head unit?
Are there compatible OEM Kia modules or parts that can be retrofitted?
I already have wired Apple CarPlay, but I’m specifically interested in adding more factory-style Kia features without replacing the whole radio.

recently i tried using it and the media screen shows the song i’m playing, but no audio. i think at one point the audio was playing from my phone?

i tried switching to bluetooth and that worked completely fine

has this happened to anyone??? i’ve switched cables, turned off bluetooth, turned the car on and off, turned the phone on and off lol

Currently drive a 2025 Tucson PHEV which might get bought back within the next few months (long story), so doing my research on possible replacements. I LOVE the aesthetics of the new Seltos, both inside and out, but how comfortable is it, and how does it drive?

I had a Hyundai Kona rental a couple months ago when traveling, and I loved it and imagine that the Seltos is close in form factor and transmission. BUT, compared to my Tucson, the armrests and seats were less cushioned, and I'm curious where the Seltos fits in.

What I really wanna know is how are the armrests? The seats? The general comfort and feel, especially for someone as tall as me (6'3")?

Note that I'll probably wait for the hybrid version but not opposed to traditional gasoline.

I recently bought a 2019 Kia Forte S. The lane assistance is great and seems to work fine. But I have the forward collision assitance/warning set to early and have only had it trigger the warning once on the highway when traffic suddenly stopped.

I have felt like there have been some other times, especially with me having it set to early, when I had to stop quickly because someone ahead of me slammed on their brakes and such that it should have triggered the warning, but it didn't.

There are no lights on indicating a problem. Could it just be I am such an old man driver that it doesn't trigger the warning more?

Also, does this Kia model also brake automatically to avoid a collision?

Are newer KIAs reliable? What is your take on KIA reputation for unreliable vehicles?

Has anyone missed a schedule service by a few months and was told their warranty is void? I’m gonna mixed answers from both Kia and general car dealerships. On one hand, they want to sell the car, and another they say don’t buy it.

So I’ve seen a fair few in the UK, that on the service logs where some were late by 1-2 months (still under 10,000 miles that period). Few cars I’m looking at in particular of which one hasn’t had ifs service done yet and its coming to 16 months. Guess they are just waiting on a buyer first.

One of the garages is actually chasing Kia for an answer on paper. Kia site themselves say the buyer just needs to get it serviced ASAP to bring it back. Kia reps said not true. A few Kia garage dealerships said they wouldn’t take that car under warranty as void because of missed schedules.

For context in 4 years this car has done 24,000 miles.

Anyone else had this issue of missed service schedules and had their warranty void in the UK? Though I’m sure it be the same worldwide.

So when I bought my new 2025 K4 six
months ago, the dealer had already installed the KARR security thing and refused to remove it. I argued for hours; essentially I had to either accept it, or not buy the car.

Today, I got the notification on my phone that I needed to install the new KARR firmware update (the one just released to counter the bluetooth vulnerability). I followed the instructions… and the update froze. Now my KARR module is bricked.

Spent the afternoon on the phone with KARR. They’re sending a tech out to me to manually resolve the issue (uncertain how they intend to do this).

What a mess.

Last week, I had my 2016 KIA Soul + transmission fluid exchanged at a KIA dealership (full flush). My car has 66,790 miles on it. Right after leaving the dealership, I started noticing that gears were not shifting smoothly. In the receipt they gave me, it says that they put BG full synthetic ATF (part number 3143).

In the car manual, it says that I should use ATF SP-IV. From what I can tell, BG 3143 is not ATF SP IV https://www.will-son.com/docs/9242__314_Application_Chart_5916.pdf

Did they put the wrong fluid in my KIA?

I feel so silly. Idk how to put on my license plate and don’t want to mess anything up.. 2026 Kia seltos EX. Do I screw straight through the felt? Or am I suppose to take the felt off…? I found the screws in the glove box pls help
