Personally, I only did what I do best, but looking back, I can't help but feel a little bit unsatisfied. I felt like I didn't capture Kaito’s key features well enough... and since his absolute trademark is his scarf, I tried to represent it using the ribbon.

When I color-picked the pants from his V1 official art, I realized it wasn't just a simple brown—it's actually much closer to olive. So, I embroidered the stems and leaves using olive tones.
Also, I think the most defining feature of the V1 illustration is the dark blue/navy shading. To reflect that, I embroidered some of the leaves, baby's breath, and parts of the stems in navy.

This is a design draft, but the applicant asked me to make the leaves a bit fuller, so I changed the leaf design. I worked on it while picturing a branch with many small leaves, like a eucalyptus.

This is another design draft. When I asked the applicant to choose between the two, they selected the former. Personally, I like this design as well, so I would like to try making it someday!

My little kaito went all over St. Louis yesterday! He had lots of fun

I went to my first anime con that lasted more than one day and on the second day aka today... (I found the hotdog KAITO keychain, the WxS KAITO 2 star card and the ice cream keychain yesterday and rest was today)
