My fiancé has never seen any Bond films and since I never shutup about how much I love Bond she finally said “hey show me your favorite one and I’ll watch it.” I showed her Casino Royale as I think it’s the perfect film to show someone who has zero experience with Bond. Hello! My friend Preston (Bond) and I (Wick) made this fan film as a love letter to two of our favorite action heroes. We chose these two because we always thought Preston’s Dad looked like Daniel Craig, and I get called Keanu or John Wick all the time by friends and random people (especially during my DoorDash days) so I played into the meme. Would his character still be the same? Would he still be a world traveler, playboy bachelor, and be willing to risk his life to stop the villain? Part of me thinks he would be completely different but the other part of me understands there are real people who risk their lives every day to protect their homes and families. Let me know your thoughts.

My wife and I have been rewatching all the Bond movies and we are in the Roger Moore Era.

In Live and Let Die a lounge singer actually briefly signs the Live and Let Die theme to Bond while he and Felix are in the Fillet of Soul club.

In Man with the Golden Gun - we briefly hear the theme when the robot "gunfighter" comes out and shoots in Scaramanga's carnival house.

I really love this and kind of wish they had done this as a little easter egg in every movie, kind of like Stan Lee appearances in the MCU

So I’m watching all the Bond films in order so I can finally rank them, some of them I’m seeing for the first time. I’ve watched the first 18 (I’ve seen all of them after that but for this ranking I’m holding off ranking them until I finish them all in this specific movie marathon) and thought it would be cool to post my rankings so far and A get your guys thoughts and B based on this list where you think the final 7 will end up (Only doing Eon films so apologies to Never Say Never Again and the first Casino Royale)

I know these films aren’t remotely connected or in the same universe but I rewatched TND last night and thought of Silva from Skyfall. Know what I just realized? Skyfall perfectly lines up with Tomorrow Never Dies timewise. Silva says he was stationed in HK from 86-97 and then M gave him up to the Chinese. Not only did HK go back to China in 1997 but since TND came out in 97 and a Chinese agent helped basically avert WWIII it makes sense M would make this exception if Silva was hacking where he shouldn’t and she gave him up as a big favor/thank you to Beijing at the end of TND since it was one of their agents along with Bond that stopped Carver. Like I said I know it’s not the same Bond universe but I’m just going to say it is in my head since this timeline sync up is perfect haha

Pattinson might be an acquired taste, but I think he’s earned his chops acting in all sorts of genres (whereas someone like Statham hasnt). I thought he was more of a drama action until he had his roles in The Batman and Tenet.

I believe he’s now in his early 40s and still has yet to complete The Batman sequel, so we will probably never see him as James Bond, but do you think he could have made a good one?

He might give more of a Pierce Brosnan playboy Bond feel than a Craig, overwhelming physicality feel, but I still think it would have been interesting. Regardless, he has the looks, the accent, the hair, pretty much everything you’d want to see in Bond.

It reads like Bond’s hit list, and it’s so satisfying just to see that continuity. Aside from him rummaging through his mementos in his desk in OHMSS, the Bond rogues gallery (in spite of the fact that the tropes are often mocked due to things arising like Austin Powers, Mr. Bean and the like) is so fascinatingly iconic that it just simply cannot be ignored.

And while I don’t mind that villains are occasionally downplayed in characterization and appearances in the more modern films, you can’t help but think in these modern times with so many people trying to stand out in an “influencer age,” that it’s not farfetched to have a villain emerge that evokes the energy of the classic gallery.
