Hi everyone! I made aliyah 14 days ago, and I really need a job (my Brazilian money is worth nothing here and I am struggling a lot).

I am a biologist. I will start my masters next year, but for now I am mostly looking for part time work in Haifa, just to start getting my life together. I have a CV in Hebrew and another in English, and would also be happy to send them over to anyone and everyone!

Do you have tips and tricks as to how to start my job search? The Employment Ministry can only help me once my Sal Klita is over, but I can't live off of it, only.

I speak level bet Hebrew, plus fluent English and Spanish and native Portuguese.

Where’s the best place to find an English library here? Not a whole library, but even a library with a great English section. I’m guessing somewhere in Tel Aviv, but I don’t know exactly where.

If you were trying to reach English-speaking families in Israel (to share an online course for kids) what synagogues or community groups come to mind?

I travel to Israel every year to visit family and have done so during the last 3 years of the war. However, it seems like with every year I’m at a greater risk of being stuck in Israel or being unable to fly because of further escalations from Iran.

I’m looking to buy tickets for September and plan on going for 2 weeks. Any chances of the current tensions continuing past the summer (yes I know no one knows the future)? And cheapest option to leave the region in case נתב״ג gets closed?

meet me , M 24 im currently studying electronics and electrical engineering on my 2nd year and it honestly as expected is REALLY tough i met someone lets call him alex , hes an oleh hadash (didnt serve in the army) he speaks very good hebrew and he finished his education at the same college i study in almost a year ago , he did personal projects aside of his coursework and project , hes been searching for a job for almost a year now and he hasnt found any decent job because the market is too competitive and he doesnt have any army connections , so it got me wondering should i even bother finishing my degree since hes the 2nd person i know who's been searching for a while for a job and didnt get lucky.

The competent public prosecutor's office is investigating on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 65-year-old member of the German-Israeli Society was attacked and seriously injured by a 20-year-old Syrian man in Höchberg (Lower Franconia, near Würzburg) overnight into Monday because he was wearing a pin featuring an Israeli flag.

According to the *Jüdische Allgemeine*, the perpetrator first engaged his victim in a discussion about the Middle East before suddenly striking him. According to the public prosecutor's office, the Syrian man first punched his victim in the face. When the man tried to flee, the attacker pursued him, caught up with him, and knocked him to the ground. The suspect then allegedly kicked the man—who was lying on the ground—repeatedly in the head and upper body. According to the newspaper, the attack only ended when police officers intervened.

The perpetrator is currently in pre-trial detention. Police had already stopped and checked him the previous evening at the Höchberg market festival, as he had reportedly been harassing people there. The Public Prosecutor General's Office has taken over the investigation and is classifying the case as attempted murder.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. According to the newspaper *Bild*, the man suffered, among other injuries, a fractured vertebra. The DIG Würzburg announced that he is in the intensive care unit. "We stand in full solidarity with our seriously injured member and wish him a speedy and complete recovery!" the DIG Würzburg stated on Instagram.

DIG, Central Council President Schuster, and Mayor condemn attack DIG President Volker Beck told the *Jüdische Allgemeine*: "Enough is enough! Anyone who demonizes Israel with accusations of genocide and apartheid creates the climate for such assaults. No one carrying a Palestinian flag has to fear for their physical safety in Germany, yet anyone displaying an Israeli flag is not safe for their life."

Central Council President Josef Schuster wished the 65-year-old a speedy recovery and warned: "This outbreak of brutal violence does not occur in a vacuum: all relevant statistics confirm that antisemitic incidents have become entrenched at record levels. The most common form of antisemitism is that directed against Israel. The progressive normalization of this hatred paves the way for acts of violence like this one." Changing this, he noted, would require "enormous efforts" from politicians and civil society. Schuster also demanded "that the full extent of the rule of law be utilized to punish such a crime."

Würzburg Mayor Martin Heilig (Green Party) also condemned the act: "When a person is attacked apparently simply for wearing an Israel pin, it constitutes an intolerable assault on our fundamental democratic values and our open society. For us as a city community, the message is unequivocal: antisemitism, hatred, and violence have no place in Würzburg or our region." The circumstances surrounding the incident are the subject of an ongoing investigation. The Public Prosecutor's Office sees indications of an anti-Israel and Islamist motive.

I calmly explain to friends the factors of hate & terrorist targeting that Israel faces..and it’s reasonable force that Israel has no choice to express or their very existence is at risk.
Why is the general Muslim world at large..countless European countries AND honestly Gen Z & democrats all want Israel to fail?

As an olah hadasha, I always have a billion questions as to what is, to me, a whole new universe. I often ask them on this sub, and you guys help so much. Last time I posted, I asked about a contract for an apartment and you pointed some bad points about it. Based on that, I had a meeting with the renter and we changed these points. I often ask for tips and tricks here. And I always get help from you, fellow israelis, tsabras or olim. Thank you. Am Israel Chai is always stronger together.

Hello everyone.

I want to start off by saying that many people in Israel, especially in tech, seem ro struggling with job searching these days and I don't want to trivialise any of your experiences.

I am an oleh hadash from South Africa who has been living in Israel the past few years and despite making some progress in integrating into Israeli society, including studying at an Israeli university, my job search situation frustrates me.

I have been living in Haifa the last year, studying a master's in environmental science (including skills like Python, remote sensing and statistics) at the University of Haifa and teaching English at a disability centre.

Things started to fall apart after I lost my English teaching job six months ago due to "budget cuts" and not in any way related to my ability. Then I finished my master's and discovered that Israel's job market is far more competitive and fierce than I expected. I have mainly been looking for data analyst, geospatial analyst and CRM administrator jobs (I have several Salesforce certifcations).

I think there are several reasons I am experiencing this. Firstly, I have some English teaching experience but no paid tech experience in Israel although I have done some university and self-directed projects, secondly, I didn't grow up in Israel or serve in the IDF so my professional/protektzia network is extremely limited, thirdly, I live in Haifa but most of Israel's networking happens in the centre (especially around Tel Aviv), especially for English speakers and fourthly, my Hebrew is stuck on level Gimmel and there are surprisingly few ulpanim or other programmes that go to level Dalet or above (and even then they often have students who are not even at Bet level in my opinion attending haha).

I am torn between searching for tech jobs, which are oversaturated, English teaching jobs, which are often underpaid, or maybe focusing on bookkeeping/finance, because I did some of that back in South Africa.

What makes this even worse is that unlike many other Anglo olim from say the US or UK, I can't just return to my home country (South Africa) and expect to easily find a job, given that it has a 30% unemployment rate and this is even higher among the youth aged 30 or under. My family still in South Africa are also struggling financially.

I would really appreciate any advice because I still want to try making it work in Israel as much as I can.
