ALERT! Guilt by Association
I swear I'm still working on the third part of the "America at a Crossroads" series, but events seem to have moved faster than I can write. So let me sum up my theme for the series: American democracy has lasted 250 years. But its future existence is very much in question. Some day, I'll write the thing that explains that with all my arguments laid out for your consideration, but for right now, let's just take that as given. Because look what the regime is up to...
Last week, the United States hosted an international conference it called the "Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism." On Monday, the State Department issued a 100-page report on Cuba as the "Capital of 21st Century Communism." And all week, Stephen Miller has been saying dumb shit. What does this all have to do with the future of American democracy? It's the pretext the regime wants to use to get rid of it.
I have thoughts about what exactly the regime is going to do to/with American democracy, but those are speculative. Let me stick to the facts:
- "Political terrorism" is down. Way down. The proportion of it fostered by left-aligned individuals is up, but with the right-wing pretty happy with the political institutions in this country, terrorism within the U.S. is WAY down. Meditate on that for a while; there's lots of layers to the awful there. But my point is that the entire pretense for the conference (and what the hell is a "ministerial," anyway?) is bullshit. Several nations hesitated to attend because they were worried about the politics of it, but they came anyway. I don't know why, but they did. So now the regime can say it is leading the world to end "political terrorism," which it, of course, blames on "leftists."
- That state department report is poorly written and edited, but its a masterpiece of conspiracy thinking. The basic gist is: 1, Castro hated the U.S. from the get-go. 2, He set up an intelligence network that infiltrated left-leaning U.S. organizations and supported leftist terrorists like the Weather Underground. 3, these leftists managed to get themselves "mainstreamed" to the point that they eventually launched Barack Obama's political career (I'm not making this up), and 4, they have so thoroughly inculcated the American left with Communist thinking that they don't even need to infiltrate the left anymore -- the DSA is now self-infiltrating by aligning itself to Cuba's global policy goals without even being asked. Oh, and 5, Cuba is aligned with Russia, China, Iran, and the PLO, so, ipso facto, the DSA, the Democrats, BLM, "antifa," and just about anyone else you care to think of is obviously at best a tool and at worst an actual agent of our foreign enemies. More on this below.
- Everything Stephen Miller has said in the past week has been part of tying all these things together: leftists are "enemies of civilization," antifa (who, exactly?) are all "deformed in some way," and "left-wing terrorism always ends in bloodshed, misery, and suffering. It only can travel in one direction. There is no point at which the left-wing terrorist is satisfied with his gains." First of all, the very fact that we're suddenly hearing so much from Miller again should make your blood run cold. If Miller has the microphone, the regime is about to go full fascist. He's the fascistest element in the regime, so look out. Second, what he's saying is just straight-up genocide planning. It's dehumanization, pure and simple. If "leftists" are all just inherently "deformed" enemies of civilization who can never be placated in their lust for violence, then what choice does any government have but to throw them all behind bars -- or worse?
All of that is actual things the regime has done in the last week. They have said that "antifa" is an international terrorist organization, they have tied that "terrorism" to Cuba and other foreign enemies abroad as well as to several widely influential organizations within the United States, including the Democratic Party, and they have begun speaking of all of this as if the only way to deal with it is prison camps or mass executions. Now, they haven't actually called for camps or executions -- but that's the language Miller is using, and no one is stopping him. If you're not familiar with them, go check out the Ten Stages of Genocide. Miller and Rubio have exhibited at least three of them this week: Classification, Dehumanization, and Polarization. Arguably, that "ministerial" might be the start of Organization. And it's not hard to see them move quickly to begin Discrimination, Persecution, and even Preparation based on the current posture. Be ready, my friends.
