General I made a list of 100+ books to try when you can't find anything new to read

I put together this list to share a wide range of books that you might not have tried yet. Some are well known classics, others are lesser known, but all of them offer something memorable.

My goal isn't to only include obscure titles, but to recommend some well acclaimed books too that are genuinely worth trying across different genres.

If you think something fits better in another category or have recommendations to add, feel free to share them. I can add them to the list. I know you can just Google up and find new books but I had an irresistible urge to make this. And no, this is not made by ChatGPT

Important Note: The "Also Try" sections aren't honorable mentions. They are there because after finishing each category, I kept thinking of more books, and it would have been a pain in the ass to re-number the entire list, so I made that section for that. The books aren't ranked in any order.

To the Lighthouse- Virginia Woolf

Takeaway from the book - We spend our entire lives inside our heads, in conversation with versions of people rather than the people themselves, rehearsing arguments, nursing grievances and managing impressions.

It made me ask myself - how much of today did I actually live? and how much of it happened inside my head?

i've had always thought how cool it is to be immortal and everything would be just infinite. well..not anymore. this book was definitely a fascinating experience. the representation of hell was far beyond what we imagine. it doesn’t deal with stereotypical aspects of hell. it was truly haunting in an existential way....

Ask Indian Readers How to read ? And what to read ?

19 (F) my friend 19(M) wants to start reading but is confused from which genre should he start as a beginner, he had started reading Think and grow rich as it was already available in his house . He is facing too much difficulties in

1)vocabulary

2) comprehension

3) maintain focus

He is a very curious and generalist guy who believes in " Jack of all trades is better than master of one "

Also drop your personal suggestion or tricks for reading ..

Hi Readers, do you snack/munch on something while you’re reading? Or prefer not to just because it can spoil the book pages..?

Reviews What’s one book that made you a better person? Mine is A Man Called Ove.

Picked up this book because I’d seen so many people recommend it, but I wasn’t expecting it to stay with me long after I finished it. There are books that entertain you, and then there are books that just stay stay with you.

It made me realise that first impressions are rarely the full story, that kindness often looks ordinary, and that even the smallest acts can change someone’s life- genuinely made me think about how quickly we judge people without knowing what they’re carrying.

Very few books have changed the way I look at people, but this one did.

What’s the one book that changed you in some way?

Ask Indian Readers Is This Book Cover Good?

Post image

I am currently working on a book series but meanwhile I wanted to test the waters, So I slightly re-wrote an old story I created when I was like teen. It's a YA Mystery. And uploaded it on the Amazon. You know just to see how publishing online works. So just wanna ask, is this book cover good. I made it using canva, cause I just can't risk spending money right now. And also, amazon gave me like 5 days where I can make my book free for all to purchase! How should I use those? Any suggestions would be helpful.. I wanna learn as much before releasing my current I am working on for months. Thank You.

Reviews These two books didn't tell me what to think, they completely changed how I consume the news.

I read Propaganda by Edward Bernays and Manufacturing Consent by Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky a few years ago , at the time, i thought they were just interesting books, now looking at what's happening today and realize they changed the way i consume news more than i expected.

I don't automatically accept the first narrative anymore , pay a lot more attention to the words people choose, because language can shape how we feel about an issue before we've even looked at the facts and try to filter that out, compare multiple sources, and then make up my own mind and that doesn't mean i'm always right, but those books definitely changed how I think.

I just finished A Little Life and I don't know how to recover.

I'm currently going through one of the lowest phases of my life. Reading has always been my comfort, but because of time constraints I couldn't read much for a long time. Recently, I finally got back into it.

Unfortunately, the first book I picked was A Little Life, and I finished it in just 5 days.

I was already struggling with depression, but after finishing this book, I feel even worse. I honestly can't explain what I'm feeling right now. It's like the story is still stuck in my head and I can't move on.

Could you please recommend some books that are comforting, hopeful, or emotionally healing? I'm looking for something that can help me feel a little lighter or restore some faith in life.
