Politics It is time that we should start boycotting artists/celebs still supporting govt or calling protestors anti-nationals. They don't care about us, we should not care about them.

Politics Why did our forefathers keep the BJP/RSS away from power for so many years? Were they more educated than us?

Upvotes

Serious question. For the first 4-5 decades after Independence, the political consensus of people largely kept the BJP/RSS ecosystem away from central power. Congress and other parties dominated.

In hindsight, some of their fears about majoritarianism, accountability, cultural imposition, or undermining secular institutions seem validated by recent events.

We have made the BJP/RSS so powerful now that people at the top, Modi and Amit Shah, etc literally decide who will be CM of different states, which administrator will be where. Which judge can be appointed in different regions, including the CJI, and they are using all these tools to break opposition parties. Even when this issue reaches the Supreme Court, where we have the law of re-election where a supported MLA or other member defects, it is not being imposed just being stalled for years. Example: Shiv Sena.

This is exactly how Hitler started his campaign, and I see some similarities.
Hitler - Jews against Germany; hindsight changed Judges, laws, media houses put his party members in all departments || BJP/RSS - Muslims, sikh etc against India. Silently, now they are putting their members in all places.

But in other ways, the BJP has somewhat delivered on economic reforms, infrastructure, and national assertiveness that the earlier powers struggled with.

Were our forefathers genuinely more cautious and educated about the risks of ideological shifts? Or were they protecting their own power structures? Or did they have an opinion that we need educated leaders in power only?

And most importantly, in trying to "correct" the past, have we lost ideological freedom? Has the window shifted so much that questioning certain narratives now feels risky?

Genuine thoughts only.

The relationship between media and public is of mutual trust. If Media stops honouring the trust, it is our responsibility as citizen to not honour the trust as well. Let's boycott media , if you are going to protest , do not give them any bite if they ask. Put them on child lock or parental lock or whatever but make sure they do not get any eye balls.

Politics My biggest fear is now Delhi police on the orders of Modi & Amit Shah will spoil their lives with fake FIRs to scare the rest of India. Modi won’t know the value of children or value of education. Kejriwal is least trying to free the students & children from these monsters

Politics Stupid remarks by our PM. At the very least we want procedural changes in the system to prevent paper leaks from happening and some accountable person to be in charge who can actually take responsibility

Stupid and insensitive remarks by PM IMO. We know how fast our "fast track" courts will be. Change the system, do away with these stopgap solutions.

Why is government trying to run away from accountability? Middle class is already paying almost 50% of the income in taxes and this is how the Government treats us? Do they think we are stupid or something?

Irresponsible Government.

Ye Bik Gaye Ye Governmint Boycott was a big part of pre-independence movement, let's bring the old tools of struggle back to today!

The first cry for swaraj in India began with the call for a boycott of British sympathisers

A large number of people are marking their support at Jantar Mantar and across India in person, and those who can't attend physically are showing their support online by sharing posts and videos, debunking misinformation, and engaging in discussions. Let's take the fight to the biggest traitors of our democracy and hold them accountable for their actions, too. The MEDIA!
Merely boycotting the news channels yourself won't affect them much; they should be attacked where it will hurt them the most, their REVENUE STREAMS!
Most of these media giants get their revenue from advertisements. We can direct our netizens' energy to an active boycott campaign against the brands that advertise on these channels.
We can -

  1. Actively start the boycott campaign against the brands that advertise on the Godi media channels.
  2. Post on X, Instagram and send e-mails on why they will be boycotted for supporting news channels that spread fake news and propaganda content.

This might be a long shot, but these brands may redirect their ad expenditure to actual journalists who share the truth and facts rather than political propaganda. This will also not lead to an all-out smear campaign against particular brands and bring in possible corporate responsibility (big hopes, I know)

P.S. Inspired by a post where someone was unfollowing celebrities who haven't come out to support students
(Also not claiming this idea, saw a similar idea on another sub)

Banana Republic Rajkummar Rao's words You can never know the pressure deserve reflection. If artists feel there is pressure around politically sensitive work, that's not a sign of a healthy democracy. This regime is all about ,fake pride, propaganda and pressuring everyone around.

Politics Boycott the uneducated & lier Politicians - BJP’s 95% of the members

Upvotes

Don’t trust BJP and their claims

So, people lost their lives because of government being focused on making religious conflicts and diverting our minds.
Not only this year, from the time when incompetent people started taking responsibilities they can’t even spell out correctly.

BJP and their puppies said - “Congress was running on nepotism and they trust the common people”

12 years in - All the BJP politicians are helping their relatives and kins doing the polar opposite of what they promised.

Now, as a youth and a responsible person in the society, I am warning you to NOT TRUST ANY OF THEIR WORDS!

If you ask WHY?
Or Now that Dharmendra Pradhan might be removed, I’m still very much confident that he’ll not be touched but some new name will end up taking the punishment, You will see that one goon will be replaced with another one, another incompetent will take over, with big big promises and will not deliver.

Stop thinking that an Illiterate will ever do justice to a job which requires responsible educated background.

Don’t support BJP and all those who are just focused to earn money and make their lives better.

It’s high time we protest and stand against all these centric goons and uneducated leaders who don’t know what and how to empower the common people.

Their scams, scandals, lies, false claims, bought up media houses who lick their feet, all should be highlighted and should be remembered why they should never come to power.

Elect the capable ones, stand and speak against these imbeciles.
