These protests were against giving government jobs to certain castes to rectify historical injustices they faced. These protests closed roads, highways, transportation services, government services, schools, and businesses of India. Anti-reservationists protested.

The historian Ramachandra Guha puts the suicide number at 200; more than 60 succumbed to their burns. Some other reports put these suicide attempts to 159, with 63 succumbing to their injuries.

All of them unitedly demanded protection for journalists against any form of violence, held rallies and candle marches, and rightfully so.

So why is this supposed GODI journalist being heckled at and treated differently, just for doing the work that he was assigned to do? Is he the journalist any different than those who have lost their lives for doing their work?

Funny these stone pelters would actually celebrate if something were to happen to him.

During AAP regime in Punjab these are the paper leaks happened:

• PSEB Class 12 English Board Exam (Feb 2023): Paper leaked prior to the exam, leading to nationwide cancellation hours before students took the test.
• Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test - PSTET (Mar 2023): Questions had answers pre-highlighted/bolded on the paper, forcing a cancellation and re-examination.
• PSSSB Group-B Recruitment Exam (Dec 2023): Alleged paper leak and scoring irregularities, currently subject to a Vigilance Bureau probe.
• Pharmacy Officer Recruitment Exam (July 2026): High-tech paper transmission scandal involving pen cameras, wireless earpieces.
• Naib Tehsildar Recruitment Exam (May 2022): Bluetooth-assisted cheating racket that resulted in multiple arrests and demands for cancellation.

But still there were no resignation and no outrage? I understand BJP stance is clear for correction instead of resignation but AAP President was supporting CJP protest while there were no resignations for the state controlled examinations, why is that?

Absolutly love how legislative and judiciary aren't giving even a single flying F about these blackmailers and hooligans.

One aspect of this entire episode genuinely puzzles me.

The Government says it has approached CJP multiple times for talks.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh stated that the Centre reached out four times and expressed willingness to hold discussions. JP Nadda has also publicly maintained that the government is open to dialogue.

However, CJP leaders have reportedly DECLINED a meeting at a minister's office insisting instead on Jantar Mantar or another public venue.

This raises a simple question:

Shouldn't official discussions between representatives of the Government and a delegation normally take place in an official office or another mutually agreed formal setting?

Government offices exist precisely for conducting official business. They provide privacy, security, confidentiality where needed, and an environment conducive to serious negotiations rather than public spectacle.

If the objective is to resolve issues, does the venue really matter more than the dialogue itself? Or has the location become part of the message?

Ultimately, citizens are less concerned about WHERE the meeting happens and more concerned about WHETHER meaningful progress is made.
