Update Idle Deepcore content update - Collectible relics, uranium, fission power, & dyson sphere construction !

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I recently released update 1.5 for Idle Deepcore on Steam.

I had a lot of fun working on this game, and seeing all the positive comments only make me want to continue.

What's new:

  • A huge end goal : build a dyson sphere (dyson rings)
  • Collect relics: rare blocks that spawn at different depths, on the planet, in asteroids and comets. 8 collections to complete, each piece gives a permanent bonus
  • Uranium and fission furnace
  • Up to 10 launch pads, so 10 rockets flying at the same time with their own cargo and targets
  • 10 new achievements, some balancing and bug fixes (rockets don't travel anymore while the game is closed, oops)

Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4527930/Idle_Deepcore/

Feedback welcome as always, it's what shaped this whole update. =)

AI disclosure: nothing is made by AI in this stage. In the past some C++ code was written with the support of AI but it has now been replaced by work done by someone external.

Released 15 years ago I fell in love with incrementals on Kongregate. Today, my own is finally out — an active (not idle) incremental adventure where quests gate your progress

Hey r/incremental_games!

I discovered the genre with Lollipop Quest 2 back in university, ~15 years ago, and fell hard. Cookie Clicker, Clicker Heroes, Trimps you name it — not a day went by without me checking Kongregate for new releases. I always wanted to make my own, but I couldn't code at all. So I started with what I could do: building a universe. Physics, cosmogenesis, peoples, fauna, flora — I've been shaping that world for over 10 years now.

Along the way, I switched my studies from philosophy to computer science, learned Unity, made a small idle prototype as a student project (Lima, still on itch but it's bad haha !), then led a team building an accessibility-focused game… that got cancelled weeks before completion, for reasons entirely outside our control. That one hurt. After months of rebuilding, my girlfriend and I decided to start a project we would actually finish — and, for the first time, set it in the universe I'd been protecting all these years.

That game is Pebble for a Queen, and as of today, it's out on Steam — 20% off for launch week.

The story: you play Goguz, a Xantul (think crab/scorpion-ish creature), hopelessly in love. Xantul courtship works like this: you offer your beloved a pebble. So off you go, breaking rocks around your nest to find THE perfect stone — and little by little, through exploration, XP and skill trees, you end up shattering enormous boulders across the world.

What makes it different from most incrementals:

It's active, not idle. You explore and break every rock yourself. No offline progress bars.

A meaningful skill tree — not a lazy one. 1,500+ nodes, and choices genuinely matter. At one point you'll pick your elemental path, and each has a real identity: Earth is economy (+ an AoE armor shred), Fire is energy (+ an AoE damage-over-time), Wind is speed (+ moderate damage over huge areas), Water is raw power (+ heavy chain damage). A well-planned build outperforms a careless one. I know it can look intimidating and not super casual-friendly — I've tried hard to balance it so every type of player finds their fun.

Quests gate your progress. This is my favorite part, and probably the most divisive: scattered through the tree are quests and challenges of varying difficulty. Complete them to unlock the next nodes. They give the whole run rhythm and purpose.

A world to explore: 5 zones and 4 biomes, each with its own rocks, look and quirks. Hand-drawn cartoon art, and an amazing sound artist joined us along the way to make all the music and SFX.

A full first run should take around 10 hours, and going for all achievements roughly doubles that — you'll tell me! When I try to speedrun it, I do it in more than 5 hours but I'm sure you can beat me !

The practical stuff: it's on Windows, Linux and macOS (full honesty: the Mac build made it in just in time and we couldn't test it on Apple Silicon ourselves, nor on Steam Deck — if you're on either, I'd genuinely love to hear how it runs). Playable in 11 languages. Controller, keyboard, mouse, or any mix — and if you want the chillest experience, mouse + autocast is lovely. I personnaly prefer Controller as I like to optimize everything !

This is the first time I've ever taken a game all the way to release. I'm equal parts excited and terrified. I'll be here all day answering questions and taking notes on everything — I know I still have a lot to learn.

Steam page : https://store.steampowered.com/app/4915590/Pebble_For_A_Queen/

AI Disclosure : Ai was used for translation from English+French ! Of course, Ai assist my code, but it's not vibecoded or telling AI : DO A GAME, it was more like an assistant and a StackOverflow++. Not that it's a shame to use it, it's just to be clear, design pattern are my own for the best and the worst hahaha !

Request Space Clicker

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews on this game. I’ve enjoyed this game a lot, however it’s heavily p2w as you rely heavily on 2x boosts, ad money drops, and ads to get more plays on your ship missions. I’ve been playing for about a week now and I’ve hit the biggest progress wall I’ve gotten so far. I’m only prestige 3 and my laser cannot make me enough to progress. I’m getting 3.7 ca/s and I have 3 bio buildings and 3 electric buildings helping boost my income to around 40 ca/s with the 2x boosts. My talent tree is min maxed around bio building (as it’s the ones I’ve upgraded the most) and every talent for laser and I don’t see how I can get to 11.5 cc without waiting hours and hours with the game open. I left it open overnight and only got to like 180 cb. Anyone got any tips on what I can do?

Update I finally made a playable demo for my incremental fishing game - FishInc

https://reddit.com/link/1v4lu4g/video/kduuzxtyt0fh1/player

I've finally put together a small playable demo for FishInc!

It's a minimalist incremental fishing game where timing matters more than clicking fast. You upgrade your boat, collect trophy fish, and slowly build your own fishing setup.

I'd love to hear what feels good, what gets boring, and what you'd change before I keep expanding it.

Play on Itchio

Development Made a cozy stargazing idle game (with a lot of AI help). Would love your honest feedback

Upvotes

Hey all,

I'll just say it right away so nobody feels misled: I built this with a lot of help from an AI coding assistant. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea here, so I'd rather put it up front than hide it in the fine print. The thing I actually want feedback on is the design and the pacing, which is the part that's on me.

The game's called Stargazer. It's a cozy little idle game where you're basically an astronomer sitting on a quiet mountain. No spaceships, no flying around the galaxy, just looking up and slowly reading the sky.

You trace constellations by connecting their stars, and once you finish one it stays lit up in your sky. The neat part (to me anyway) is that the sky is real. Every star is where it actually is, all 88 constellations, real coordinates. As you get better instruments you start resolving fainter stuff, going from the solar system out toward distant galaxies. So it's more about going deeper than going further. There's also little bits scattered around like meteor showers, eclipses, the occasional aurora, and short notes with real astronomy facts when you discover things.

It's meant for short relaxed sessions. Leave it running, come back later, see what turned up. It's free and runs in the browser, works fine on phones too.

Mostly I'd love to know a few things from people who actually play a lot of these:

Does the early game drag, or move too fast? Does the tracing stay fun or get old quick? And is there a spot where you'd just naturally put it down?

play

Thanks for giving it a look, and I really don't mind harsh feedback.

AI disclosure: A large part of the code was written with an AI coding assistant. The art is all drawn with code (no image-generating AI), the star positions come from a real astronomy catalog, and the sound is from free licensed packs. The design and the final calls are mine

After 8 months of development me and my friend just launched our silly, slightly weird little mining game - Pickochet! (pickaxe + ricochet)

Check it out: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4275920/Pickochet

Some features of our game:

  • Ricocheting pickaxes that automatically mine for you (you can mine yourself as well too)
  • Special pickaxes that feature unique effects (exploder, ghost, spawner, etc)
  • A bunch of abilities that you can use to create different builds (mix and match & try out combos, people are still showing us things we would have never even thought off! feel free to share yours with us!)
  • 6 different mining locations (each one giving more rewards than the last and 5 having unique unlockable events)
  • Crazy and slightly weird random world events (they happen randomly during runs)
  • 29 Steam achievements (they're not too grindy, don't worry!)
  • Cheese enforcement officer (he WILL get you so watch out)
  • Mentions of Tahiti and mangos (IYKYK)

Also to be upfront: The game is designed to be a shorter experience and typically takes between 3-5 hours to complete depending on how you play and what ability combos you use. Just wanted to say this not to miss-lead anyone as I know not everyone enjoys shorter games!

If short games aren't your thing but you're still curious what the game is about a few people like Idle Cub and Dex made some playthrough videos on YouTube :)

also reddit compression crushed the video quality. Here's the HD video for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_eddZcY9Gw

ai was used to translate the game into other languages

edit: added link to HD video

Discussion Design question: how do you stop late-game from turning into spreadsheet babysitting?

I have been on an incremental binge lately and I keep hitting the same wall once the "fun" automation arrives: the game turns into me tabbing back every few minutes to tweak six upgrade tracks that all interact in annoying ways.

I like depth, but I do not like feeling like I have to maintain a checklist. I also want to be able to set a long run (while I run errands, wait in a line, or browse Mistplay) and come back to real progress, not "you hit the cap after 12 minutes."

What do you all think works best for late-game management without dumbing things down? Which systems feel smart rather than tedious: - Priority-based automation (if X then buy Y) - Budget sliders (spend 40% on A, 60% on B) - Milestone unlocks that permanently remove earlier micromanagement layers - Offline progress that respects caps but does not waste the whole time - Hard caps with prestige loops, but shorter cycles

Also, for you personally, where is the tipping point where "interesting decisions" becomes "chores"? A specific example or timing helps.

I am not looking for game recommendations, just general opinions and examples of mechanics that kept you engaged long-term.

Development A 3 months later update on Loot Goblins

The super original title returns. A little over 3 months ago I was thinking of stopping the incremental game I was working on, I was trying to mix the bits I liked most from management/idle games. I had made a post here and to my surprise 100s of people played it and gave it a go and gave great feedback on the game (https://www.reddit.com/r/incremental_games/comments/1si0iio/early_game_feedback_for_loot_goblins_a_super/) which gave me the motivation to keep going despite kinda knowing just based on the style and the slew of crap in the space that it's not going to get back a fraction of what I put into it.

Since then there has been a bunch of under the hood changes and loads of quality of life changes. The biggest final hurdle right now is trying to balance keeping things too simple early (just straight forward upgrades / buffs like attack ups) with more interesting trade offs that might chain in more interesting ways (converting stats, disabling items but making others better, on hit affects, status affects).

If any of you lovely folk have 15minutes to give it a try again (playable on Itch!) and let me know what you think. Questions for those who have the time to try:

  1. Are the items and shrines too simple in the demo (I want more complicated chaining items earlier)
  2. Spells that are equipped right now just automatically trigger, would it be more fun to have to manually cast or have the ability to toggle casting?
  3. Did you find the swapping levels confusing at all?

Demo - https://sunwillshinegames.itch.io/loot-goblins

AI Disclosure: No AI used in this game. All assets were either hand-made by us or purchased from artists.

Development I made Pocket Universe, Inc. - a free browser incremental about running a space corporation

Hey! I've been working on Pocket Universe, Inc. and it's finally at the point where I'm comfortable putting it in front of other incremental players.

You start by making a single unit of Matter at the Reality Core. From there, you hire increasingly questionable space-industry departments, file upgrades, sign executives who take a percentage of production as payroll, deal with Compliance Anomalies, and eventually Reincorporate reality for permanent bonuses.

It’s a long-form incremental with active clicking, idle and offline progress, 18 departments, 158 upgrades, and 121 achievements. It works in desktop and mobile browsers, with no ads, accounts, paywalls, or required downloads.

I wanted to make the kind of incremental game I’d enjoy playing myself, then decided to share it in case other people enjoy it too. I’ll continue updating it, and it will always be free. Donations are appreciated, but they’ll never be required or unlock anything.

Play it here:

https://arv1nt3.itch.io/pocket-universe-inc

I'd really like feedback on the full progression loop, especially:

- Does the game stay satisfying as it moves from manual clicking into automation and Reincorporation?

- Do departments, upgrades, executives, anomalies, and permanent bonuses feel clear and worthwhile?

- Where does the pacing drag, spike, or become repetitive?

- Is there anything that makes you want to stop playing?

AI Disclosure

Generative AI was used to assist with code, text, and artwork. All AI-assisted material was reviewed and edited before inclusion.

Thanks if you give it a try. I'll be around to answer questions and read the feedback.

EDIT: You can play on the official website as well: https://pocketuniverseinc.com/

Development Idle Space Program — solo dev, looking for feedback

Hi,

I'm trying to learn how to make incremental games.

I'm writing my first one in Godot Engine :)

Just shipped v0.2, which replaced the original static planet view with the full Solar System map and added a third resource (Metals) and Shipyard tech tree.

I'd love feedback on:

- does the early progression feel rewarding, or does it drag?

- is the 3-currency balance (Credits/Science/Metals) confusing or does it click?

- any UX friction on the map (pan/zoom, mission routes)?

- is UI too small?

- anything else :D

Development I turned RuneScape-style skilling into an idle RPG. Alden Idle is open for playtest!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I've been working on an idle RPG for almost year now, and I'm happy to share the first playtest with you all today!

The idea behind Alden Idle is simple: take the long-term skilling, crafting, gear progression, and combat of RuneScape and similar games, and turn it into an idle game that you can let run for hours while doing other stuff.

You can currently:

  • Train combat, mining, fishing, woodcutting, cooking, firemaking, smithing, crafting, and scrollmaking
  • Turn gathered resources into equipment, food, arrows, scrolls, and other upgrades
  • Build melee, ranged, and magic loadouts around a combat triangle
  • Fight monsters, explore dungeons, and loot powerful gear
  • Continue progressing while offline
  • Play without creating an account, your save stays on your device

Play Alden Idle: beta.aldenidle.com

Available on: Web for now, iOS and Android planned soon

Current playtest scope: About ~30hrs of content (most skills go up to lvl 50)

I would especially appreciate feedback on:

  1. Is the game fun?
  2. Does the progression feel slow, confusing, or unrewarding?
  3. Does it make you look forward to returning to play the next day?
  4. Would you recommend this to a friend?

This is still very much a work in progress, so expect bugs and balance adjustments. Honest criticism is exactly what I am looking for!

AI Disclosure: All pixel art assets are hand-made by me. The logo is AI generated placeholder during the playtest. AI tools were used during Alden Idle’s development for coding help and debugging, but all code was written, reviewed, tested, and integrated by me.

Thank you!

Development [Playtest / Web] Yield & Yeast — A tactical supply-chain incremental (Phase 1 & 2 Demo)

Hey folks,

I've been working on a browser-based incremental game called Yield & Yeast and just uploaded the first public playtest build to itch.io.

Play here: https://yieldandyeast.itch.io/yield-yeast

It starts out as a simple artisan bakery (hand-baking, buying flour, tweaking prices) and eventually scales into a wholesale operations desk with factory lines, fuel logistics, and automated contracts.

A few quick details:

  • Scope: Covers Phase 1 & 2 (roughly 1 hour of content).
  • UI: Minimalist, dark terminal look (no heavy graphics or visual clutter).
  • QoL: Local auto-save, offline progress, and save code export/import.
  • Console: If you open F12 DevTools, there's a CLI for power-user commands.

I'm mostly looking for feedback on the pacing and balance. Does the early game feel too slow? Does the transition to wholesale make sense, or is it overwhelming?

If you hit any soft-locks or weird bugs, please let me know!

AI Disclosure:

  • Code & Logic: Built with LLM assistance (Cursor / Claude) for code scaffolding, math formulas, and debugging.
  • Art & Audio: None used. The game relies entirely on a code-driven text/terminal UI with no generated images or audio assets.

Steam My incremental clicker is getting better thanks to player feedback

Unlucky Mummy is an incremental clicker where a cursed sarcophagus tests your luck.

A month ago, I released the game with 400 wishlists and sold almost 3,000 copies!

The first playthrough can be completed in a couple of hours, but after that, players can unlock six more endings and earn additional upgrades. As it turned out, more than 50% of players unlocked all the Steam achievements.

I received a lot of feedback and suggestions on how to improve and expand the game. This inspired me and my friends to start working on a major update that will add more mechanics and content to New Game+.

First, we want to add more automation and upgrades, give each of the 12 gods a unique mini-game ability, and introduce mechanics that automatically open the sarcophagus and catch Schrödinger’s cats.

If you haven’t played Unlucky Mummy yet, now is a great time to try it, as the game is currently 25% off in its first post-launch sale.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4396620/Unlucky_Mummy/

I’d be happy to hear any feedback or suggestions. They will help us make the upcoming update even better!

AI Disclosure
No AI was used in the development of Unlucky Mummy.

Our small team enjoys every part of game development, from creating art to writing code. For the parts we couldn’t handle ourselves, such as music, voice acting, and localization, we worked with freelancers, all of whom are credited in the game.

Discussion Why do idle incremental games all feel the same? What would you want to see that’s actually new?

I feel like a lot of idle incremental games end up being very similar: same gameplay loops, same prestige systems, same progression that just becomes exponential

So I’m curious:

What would actually make you want to play an idle game today?
What are you tired of in current games?
And most importantly, what original ideas would you like to see in the genre?

It can be anything: different mechanics, less traditional progression, more impactful choices, some unexpected system, etc

Even weird or experimental ideas are welcome

STEAM DEMO LINK

I like looong, systems-heavy (something to always work towards and grow) idle games that I can spend weeks or months playing every few days or so. Wanting this I made a game.

It starts out requiring active play for the first 20 or so minutes, but eventually you can begin to automate much of the progress, though it still rewards you for active play.

The demo is out, but the full game is looking for a November release though that might change based on wishlists and the like. The game is feature complete. I am just testing/polishing the progression by hand, which takes a considerable amount of effort even with tools.

I love kind feedback and helpful critique. Please let me know what you think, and if you like it, wish list and consider sharing it on your social media; it will help me make more stuff like this in the future!
