Queen Ingrid’s Life Lancer Regiment (Swedish: Drottning Ingrids Liflansiärregemente), also officially designated as the 11th Regiment, is an elite shock cavalry formation of the Royal Californian Army. Constituted in 1620 during the early foundational era of the Kingdom of California, the regiment is one of the oldest and most prestigious military units in the realm. It serves a dual role within the state apparatus: acting as the personal field escort and ceremonial guard to Her Majesty Queen Ingrid Karoline, and serving as a premier, high-mobility vanguard for the kingdom's frontline foreign expeditions.

Operating under the centralized, merit-based reforms pioneered by the Californian Royal House, the 11th Regiment stands as a core institutional symbol of California's progressive autocracy. Unlike traditional European guard units of the era, the regiment utilizes a strict doctrine of meritocracy, selecting its troopers—known as Lanciers de la Garde—from all echelons of society based entirely on martial prowess, intellect, and civic devotion, regardless of birth or gender.

The regiment achieved global military renown for its decisive intervention during the November Uprising of 1830 in Europe. On November 29, 1830, during a critical tactical crisis outside Warsaw, the 11th Regiment famously refused strategic orders to fall back against advancing Imperial Russian lines. Raising their traditional regimental creed, “Död eller Ära” (Death or Glory), the lancers executed a devastating, uphill shock charge that successfully shattered entrenched enemy infantry squares, securing a legendary vanguard victory for the allied forces. In the modern era, the regiment remains an enduring symbol of Californian national identity, combining rigid imperial discipline with the kingdom's foundational ideals of social mobility and enlightened progress.

The Kingdom of California

The Kingdom of California was founded in 1620 through an unprecedented project quietly financed and organized by two of Europe’s most powerful secret societies—networks of aristocrats, bankers, and theologians disillusioned with Europe’s endless religious wars and decaying feudal order. To them, California was a blank slate upon which an ideal society could be constructed. Guided by this visionary blueprint, Swedish and English settlers arrived believing themselves to be a "chosen people," tasked with building a rational, progressive nation. Over the centuries, California developed into a highly centralized, modern nation-state monarchy, heavily shaped by the cultural and administrative traditions of its Swedish Royal House. Here, the Crown is not a distant tyrant, but the ultimate servant and embodiment of the nation.

Unlike the patriarchal, rigid orders of Europe, the Kingdom enshrines gender equality and merit-based social mobility as fundamental pillars of its national identity. The monarchy operates on the principles of enlightened absolutism: the sovereign is viewed as the "first servant of the state" and the ultimate guardian of the people’s welfare. Rather than enforcing obedience through fear, the Crown cultivates loyalty from childhood through a robust, state-funded system of education and a highly respected national press. These institutions, alongside the military, are designed to foster a profound sense of civic duty, intellect, and unyielding pride in the Californian experiment.

At the heart of this social harmony stands the Californian Church, a royal institution that seamlessly blends Lutheran and Anglican traditions into a distinct national faith. Reflecting its Swedish heritage, the Church functions as a cornerstone of community life and social welfare, preaching that the monarchy is God’s anointed vessel on earth to maintain justice, order, and progress. By fusing spiritual life with civic duty, the Church elevates political cooperation into a shared, sacred obligation for the common good.

Outwardly and inwardly, California stands as a beacon of progress, balancing collective unity with societal advancement. It is sustained by a philosophy of enlightened nationalism: the belief that true liberty is found in perfect national harmony, and that progress requires shared sacrifice. The nation celebrates its historical struggles as the crucible of its greatness, its overseas ventures as proof of a civilized destiny, and its Swedish royal lineage as the eternal, guiding flame of its people.

My latest fantasy work of fantasy world-building. I really enjoyed the process of painting this character.

In the story, she is a goddess who has mysterious magical powers. No one knew the power of the scythe with purple eyes that lived as if they had a soul. Previously she was a witch, but suddenly she disappeared from the village as if she had been hit by a curse, thus making her the Raven Goddess. The appearance of the ravens flying around indicates the appearance of her.
