Hey there :) I felt like a lot of recent mental health apps can be kind of overwhelming, so I wanted to create something simple. Feel free to check it out. It is already out in the applestore & playstore.

I am very open for any kind of suggestions. Especially regarding the pricing... I don't like that a lot of apps (especially mental health apps) are based around subscriptions nowadays so I set mine to 4.99 $ for lifetime right now (after the first task is completed). However my application is also very simple.. so feel free to let me know what your two cents are about that matter

I've been building an app called Prism, a native SwiftUI media hub for iPhone (plus iPad, Mac, and very soon Apple TV). The whole idea is one app instead of ten: discovery, watch tracking, trailers, ratings, your own server library, and a "where to watch" that opens straight into the streaming apps you already have.

I've posted about it in a few other subs but never here, and a lot has changed since then, so this is a proper intro. It's been in public beta since early January (development before that), and this is the final stretch before launch.

What Prism does:

• Where to Watch: see every service a movie or show is on (100+ services) and jump right into Netflix, Max, Prime, Disney+, etc.
• Your own servers: connect Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby and stream your library natively. Full Stremio add-on support too if that's your thing.
• Rebuilt internal player (now Infuse-level): this got a massive upgrade. 4K HDR, Dolby Vision, multi audio + subtitle tracks, PiP, resume, auto-play next, playback speed. Or hand off to Infuse/VLC/VidHub/SenPlayer/OutPlayer if you prefer.
• Sync everything: Trakt and now SIMKL sync for history/progress/watchlist/favorites, with MDBList sync coming next. Or skip accounts entirely and keep it all in iCloud.
• Ratings on the poster: Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, Trakt scores right on the artwork (via MDBList).
• Folders & Showcases (new): build your own home rows and folder pages, e.g. streaming services, decades, genres, studios, sagas. Quick-start templates included so you're not starting from scratch.
• AI search: describe a plot, a vibe, or fix a typo and it finds it. It'll even build a custom shelf on the spot ("underrated 2010s horror," "funny 90s sitcoms").
• Downloads, inline trailers, parental controls, family profiles, 10 languages, and share/backup your whole setup.

Where it's headed: Apple TV support lands by the end of July, then I'm pushing to the App Store right after.

On pricing: it's free during the beta, but it'll be paid once it's out. Everyone in before launch gets a discount on the lifetime option, but heads up, I'm distributing the discount code through the Discord, so you'll need to be in the server to grab it.

I'm a product manager from the aviation industry, not a software engineer. In my previous work, I collaborated with development teams on aviation products, but I'd never written code myself.

When AI became capable enough, one question kept coming back to me:

Could someone with no coding experience actually turn an idea into a real app with AI?

So I decided to find out.

That experiment eventually became WideNote, a small AI note app that's now available on the App Store.

Why this exists

This wasn't inspired by some ambitious startup vision.

It started with becoming a dad.

My wife and I spent the last couple of years preparing to welcome our daughter into the world. During that time, life became filled with countless little things to remember: prenatal checkup records, hospital paperwork, vaccination schedules, feeding logs, shopping lists, reminders from family members, receipts, photos, and random thoughts that showed up at two in the morning.

Everything felt scattered.

I realized I didn't need another productivity tool. I wanted something that could act more like a personal assistant—or maybe a curator for life's information. Somewhere I could casually tell it anything worth remembering, whenever it came to mind, without worrying about folders, tags, or organization. I just wanted to capture things naturally and let the AI take care of the rest.

That's the idea behind WideNote.

One thing I'd like to emphasize: I don't recommend using it for work. It wasn't designed for that, and I intentionally avoided turning it into another productivity app. There are already plenty of excellent tools for professional workflows.

Instead, I wanted this to feel like a companion for everyday life—a place for the little moments, memories, and pieces of information that don't belong in spreadsheets or project management software, but still deserve to be remembered.

Before this project, I'd never written a single line of code.

I'm genuinely curious whether this idea resonates with other people, so I'd love to hear any voice—positive or negative. The product is still very early, and every comment will help shape where it goes next.

Pretty sure I’m not the only one who does this.

I’ll come across a reel about some place I want to visit, or a video with a solid packing list, or a good article about a trip — and I save it thinking “this’ll come in handy.” Then when I actually need it? Nothing. I end up scrolling through saved posts, screenshots, and messages I sent myself on WhatsApp, and eventually give up and just Google it from scratch again 😪

So I finally got fed up and built a little app for myself to fix it.

Does anyone actually like Bark? I signed up because it was on basically every best parental control app list, but after using it for a few months, I just don't get the hype. It feels like a ton of features I never asked for, and the constant alerts get annoying pretty quickly. I'm paying for a lot of stuff I don't really use. I've been checking out a few Bark alternatives like HeyPolo, Life360, and even just sticking with Find My, but it's hard to tell what's genuinely good versus what's being pushed by marketing. At this point, all I really want is reliable location sharing, arrival notifications, and to know my kids made it where they're supposed to. I have zero interest in reading their texts or monitoring every social media app. For anyone who's been down this road, what apps have actually worked well for you?

Hello, I would like to develop an app that finds public swimming pools with their opening hours anywhere in the world. For example, if I am on vacation in London, Berlin, or Milan and I want to keep my training routine, I need to find a pool. Currently, I have to do extensive searches on many websites: city sports listings, individual pool websites, or public–private foundations… And ultimately, I still have to check each pool one by one to see if there are temporary closures. So I would like to build an app that can do all (in multiple langauges) of this automatically and show the pools on a map. But I don’t have any knowledge in coding or anything related. How can I do that?

Had some fun building a life force inspired space shooter for those grey beards like me who remember that NES classic.

Added a few features to encourage replay (after sector 25 in a run you can unlock permanent upgrades to your ship). I’m thinking of adding more sector variables (different special enemy attacks, maybe new ship unlocks).

I’ve also on purpose kept ads super light - banner at bottom and full every 10 stages. Not really looking to break even more just curious about app/admod integration.

Any input from this community on new features etc? Even if it never gains any traction it’s been fun to build.

I am on several different sites, FB, Insta, X, etc. I save videos, articles, and memes. But when I need to find them again, I don’t remember which platform they are saved on. Is there an app where a person can save all articles, videos, etc to one place? I can’t find on on the App Store, but it seems as this this app have to be out there somewhere.

I have a history with eating disorders and I don’t want to risk falling back into it if I track my calories. Is there a nutrition tracker that tells me what’s in my food and how much of it, adds all the nutrients up by day, and has all those kinds of features a calorie tracker does without the calories?

I am constantly in need of an app for just basic photo/image manipulation tasks: cropping, resizing, perspective correction, joining/stitching, etc. I’ve been unable to find anything worthwhile and reasonably priced that can do these very basic functions.

I don’t need: cloud storage, advanced stuff like color correction or cataloguing, AI generation, AI edits, or anything claiming to be “automatic”.

It just doesn’t seem possible that tools which were available in MacPaint in 1984 STILL don’t exist on my iPhone 17 somewhere, somehow.

For me it's Notes, hands down. It started as a place to jot quick things and slowly became where half my life lives, i even built some solid systems in there for travel planning, workouts, health, recipes, expense tracking, all of it.

so i create content mostly on my phone and i've been trying to find a solid free photo editing app that doesn't watermark everything or lock the good features behind a paywall after two uses.

i've tried a few options but most of them either have a really limited free tier or the interface is so complicated that it slows down my workflow more than it helps. i mostly need basic adjustments, background removal, and something that handles text overlays cleanly for social media posts.

i've heard some of the newer apps have added ai features that speed things up a lot but i can't tell which ones are actually useful versus just a gimmick. does anyone have a go to free photo editing app they use regularly for content and actually stuck with it long term?
