The fight starts with Hisoka declaring that his dream has been realized; he's finally about to fight Chrollo. He then says because he's waited for so long he doesn't want a friendly sparring match - Chrollo agrees, saying Hisoka constantly chasing him is getting annoying thus he declares a death match and Hisoka agrees by consenting.
The fight sorta begins with Chrollo showing off and explaining the abilities he's gathered and will use against Hisoka in this fight. Hisoka smiles at the fact Chrollo left him hanging after the exorcism to gather his cards.
Hisoka estimates Chrollo's intentions, thinking Chrollo is declaring a drawn out battle, which, in Hisoka's own words, makes him happy and that Chrollo make's him feel "so good". (Note: this is his reaction to Shalnark's black voice)
After showing off Bookmark and Sun & Moon, Chrollo talks about how style is important... arguably moreso than winning or losing. Hisoka takes this to mean Chrollo's not fully invested in actually beating him and winning but Chrollo clarifies that he has every intention of winning, then he asks the same of Hisoka.
Then he says to Hisoka he should carefully consider whether he actually wants to fight after seeing all of Chrollo's cards, so to speak. Hisoka's inner dialogue shows he's actually having a good time, he thinks, as long as Chrollo can fight comfortably he's good and that a battle is a dance in which they must move to each other's beat. In other words, this is exactly what Hisoka wants and is looking for.
Chrollo talks about the fact that having both hands free has vastly impoved his combat efficiency and rhetorically asks if it isn't wonderful that he can use a stolen ability with both hands free - Hisoka agrees, but also adds that it's annoying(In the translations I've shown anyhow, in another translation he just says it's wonderful but I prefer this one). Chrollo then pays Hisoka a compliment, saying he's setting a new record for the number of abilites it has ever taken him to kill someone and that he should be proud.
Chrollo also then talks about the fact that all abilities have strength's and weaknesses and that people compensate in varying ways, but that he can gather abilities AS HE NEEDS them and wait until conditions for certain victory can be met. Now, the most important part - Hisoka replies that that is pretty standard(meaning, to me at least, Chrollo isn't unique in doing this, at least not in Hisoka's experience. This is further backed up by the fact he goes on to say-) and his greatest pleasure comes when such people crumble to their knees and he looks down upon their disbelieving faces as their plans fail. (Note: at the end of the fight Hisoka will be the one with this look on his face).
Chrollo offers Hisoka one last piece of crucial information, that being about the fact Sun & Moon is a post mortem nen ability. He then says, he isn't saying this as a challenge or to taunt Hisoka but that he'll 100% win, then he gives Hisoka a way out by asking if he'll continue. Hisoka says of course and the fight begins in earnest.
From here on out there's no more dialogue between the two, just Chrollo carrying out his plan and we witness the fight entirely from Hisoka's perspective and how he's analysing and estimating Chrollo's movements and plans. After he takes a surprise hit from Chrollo from an angle Hisoka couldn't understand we get the sorta infamous panel of Hisoka exclaiming how much he loves it.
After Hisoka loses a hand, he's disappointed solely because he will no longer be able to pick apart and analyse Chrollo's strategy as now he'll have to fully lock in and focus entirely on survival. Then he dies.

SO! Why am I explaining all this when you, who's already read the fight, know all this already? Well, as the title says, was the fight a disappointment for Hisoka? I asked this question because there seems to be a prevailing sentiment that it somehow was. Not because he LOST mind you, instead people come up with a lot of other reasons and excuses, such as the fact Hisoka has stated he's not into group fights and want 1 on 1's and because Chrollo used puppets against him, it was no longer a fight vs him and Chrollo. Which, if you've read the fight and seen his reaction during it, is absurd to say the least.
But the most absurd argument has to be the idea that, because Chrollo stole Black Voice and Gallery Fake from Shalnark and Kortopi, HE INVOLVED THEM IN THE FIGHT. People have unironically said this which is more than absurd and downright insane. As I've demonstrated in my 3rd paragraph, Hisoka was elated when Chrollo revealed black voice.
Not to mention all the other cope about Chrollo cheating this and that and he not just involved the troupe by stealing their abilities but that some of them were literally in the crowd helping Chrollo while never being noticed by Hisoka and also somehow using abilities that Chrollo stole from them somehow.
Last thing I'll say so I'll also make it my conclusion. The idea that Hisoka killed Shalnark and Kortopi as either get back because "Chrollo involved them" or to specifically weaken Chrollo is also ridiculous. 1. He has no idea whether that'd just give Chrollo 2 more post mortem nen abilities or not. He could've easily ended up with a stronger Black Voice and Gallery Fake. 2. Togashi himself says Hisoka was also going to kill Machi but he vetoed it, he had Hisoka spare her just for her to send the message to the rest of the spiders that it's on sight. The REASON Hisoka is acting this way is because HE LOST. He got everything he wanted in the fight except victory. That's it.
