In an attempt to regulate surplus HMMWV/humvee registration in Colorado, military vehicles were changed to OHV use only in a bill passed back in 2019.
The problem was someone on the DMV goofed and decided to include Hummers in the policy for some reason [Hummers are not military vehicles by technical definition] and carved out an exemption for H2's and H3's.
That means H1 / Original Hummer owners got hit with the OHV notice revoking their on-road status.
This is currently being addressed by the DMV and the Government, it was a mistake and it's being fixed by a case-by-case basis.
Here is more information:
UPDATE: CO is going to be restoring titles for H1's/Commercial/Civilian Hummers, they were targetting military surplus vehicles and the Civilian Hummers got accidently roped in on this, see the update in comments:

I posted yesterday about my h3 suddenly not wanting to accelerate but the rpm’s going high. Finally caught it on video on my drive home from work. It did this, I pulled over to a complete stop, then as I drove off it acted normal the rest of my 15 minute drive home. The speedometer is barely moving but the rpm’s were going high, and it was loud as if it’s stuck in first? I’m not a car person, so I apologize if I sound dumb.

I was just driving my 09 H3 when all of a sudden it started revving and was struggling to accelerate. I came to a stop sign, and then when I started driving again it was normal. I’m so stressed out now that it has a major problem

I have a 04 Hummer H2, it is somehow automatically going to neutral after about 10 minutes. It can be in drive, reverse any gear but it will be in neutral by it self eventually. I can turn it off and back on again any it’s fine but then after 10 minutes back to the same thing. Any ideas? Thank you!

My 2007 hummer h3, I may be biased but I think she’s the best looking car on the road 👌

Please tell me which Cummins engine would be most suitable for my Hummer H1. I’m looking for the most powerful option for a high-performance build. And preferably, if the stock engine isn’t the most powerful option, could you recommend what turbocharger I could add or what configuration would give the best performance?

I did all the usual suspects with oem lower ball joints, moog problem solver upper control arms, Kryptonite tie rods and sway bar links, bilsteins. The sway bar links are the size of the factory tie rods to give comparison and the new tie rods are extremely overbuilt

So recently, the Transmission cooler lines failed on my 2006 H3 it has 370,000 miles and I had to wait six hours until a buddy could tow me home and I was wondering if it would be better longevity wise to add an aftermarket cooler other than just replace the transmission cooler lines, I’ve already had it fail once. And had to replace the whole radiator/Transmission cooler and also had to buy a whole new Transmission. I definitely want to keep this thing for the rest of my life so as I said, I would like some opinions on whether I should just replace the lines or get a whole aftermarket transmission cooler.
And before anyone asks why i plan on keeping it for the rest of my life because it was handed down to me from my mom. When I turned 16 and got my drivers license. And she bought it brand new in 2006 and let me pick the color out on it when I was 4 so that’s why I want to keep it. It’s honestly been there for my entire life.

Thanks to my parents, one of their clients has an 07 Hummer H3 for sale and everything checks on it so far. Mileage, brand new engine and everything else under the sun transmission included. The client takes great care of his vehicles thankfully. Wants $9K for it but can negotiate.
Never have driven one of these vehicles before I’ve been Jeep Gang since HS (please don’t judge me, I am wanting to change!) any opinions, positive advice and recommendations would be great! Thank you in advance.

Just got back from looking at it but have zero people that care about hummers in my life. You would not believe the rot on vehicles we see up here. Especially any 4WD
