Residence room
Some schools let you pick which floor and which room specifically you want. Does humber just assign it randomly given you let them know the room style? Or is it like every man for themselves on move-in day?

Anyone applied to Humber’s Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program?
Hi! I’m currently finishing a BSc in Life Sciences and I’ve been looking into Humber’s new Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography graduate certificate.
I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has applied, been accepted, or is currently in the program. Since it’s a newer program, I haven’t been able to find much information from students.
I’m especially curious about:
- How competitive admission is and what your academic background/GPA was
- Whether Humber accepted your anatomy, physiology, pathology and other health-related university courses
- What the schedule and workload are like
- Whether students can choose or rank their placement locations
- Job prospects after graduation and whether graduates are eligible for the necessary certification exams
I’m also considering second-entry nursing, so I would love to hear from anyone who chose cardiac sonography over nursing and why.
Thanks!

North Campus Practical Nursing Pre-Placement Requirement
Hii I’m starting Practical Nursing Placement this fall and I’m really stressed about my placement requirements.
I completed the full 3-dose Hepatitis B vaccine series as a baby, but now my school requires an anti-HBs blood test to prove immunity. I’m getting my requisition this week and will be doing the blood test as soon as I can.
My biggest fear is that my blood test will show low or no detectable immunity. From what I’ve read, if that happens I may need a Hepatitis B booster and then wait about a month before repeating the blood test. The problem is that my placement document deadline is August 14, so I’m worried the repeat blood test wouldn’t be done in time.
I’m an international student and I’ve been working two jobs, 7 days a week all summer to pay my tuition. I only recently caught a break after finally paying everything, so I’m only now able to finish all of my placement requirements.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If your Hepatitis B immunity test came back negative or low:
Did your school let you continue while you were completing the booster/retesting process?
Were you able to get an extension or some kind of accommodation?
Did you end up delaying your placement?
I’m honestly really anxious because I’ve already paid my tuition and I’m scared that one blood test could affect my placement.
I’d really appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience. Thank you!

Plan Ahead: no specified instructor or meeting times for courses?
Is anyone else having issues with this? it seems that none of my courses have times set yet (what I can see seems like a placeholder?), so I can't really plan out my schedule rn

Humber asynchronous options
Im starting business administration advanced diploma online this fall. I was worried it would't work because I work a lot, but so far 4 out of 5 classes offer asynchronous for the 1st semester. Am I missing something? Is this going to show on my transcript? How is there so much LOL.

Plan Ahead - No course informatiom?
I'm building my schedule using the Plan Ahead tool and I'm trying to pick my elective.
Some of the courses (actually - a lot of the courses) that I'm interested in don't have any information. I enter the course code and it finds the course, but then it says "0 Classes" and "Please Search Again". The option to "Add Class" is visible.
Does this mean that these courses are not being offered for Fall 2026?
Also - I'm just registering for Fall 2026 next week, right? Winter 2027 registration happens later?

Late residence fee/will my room be cancelled?
I made a smilar post about this a couple days ago but I'm still very anxious as the deadline is today, and I can't seem to get any contact with humbers residence admissions team. I sent an email on friday and I tried calling the number listed on the residence housing website a few times today, but I've gotten no response at all. Everything Ive been reading online is giving me conflicting information or no information at all.
Basically, I am $500 short on my residence fee, because I misunderstood the owing ammount and what the registration deposit actually was. I understand that this is entirely my fault and very stupid of me. This is my first time ever applying for residence and I don't have anybody IRL thats been able to help me.
(note: i already paid the 1st installment ammount a week and a half ago. Its just the $500 that I'm missing).
I'm assuming I will be charged a late fee, which I am okay with because again this is entirely my fault. But my biggest fear is, will they cancel my room? I really don't want to lose my spot in residence.
Edit: I spoke to one of the humber residence support staff, everythings been sorted and my room is still reserved. I'm not sure if I will need to pay a late fee.

International student tuition fee
Hi, my sister is an incoming international student for fall 2026. However, her study permit application is still pending and we are waiting for the decisions in the coming weeks. I have a question about the tuition fee. We paid the $3000 deposit in March to get the PAL. Do we still have to pay the full fall semester tuition by Monday (July 20)? Or can we wait until we get a decision for the study permit. We emailed Humber couple of times but they still haven’t replied or didn’t have any conclusive answers.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

North Campus Deciding between Humber’s Acupuncture (3yr) and TCM and Acupuncture (4yr) programs, need input from anyone with real experience (2026 Fall intake)
I have offer letters for both and I’m stuck. I’ve got a BSc in Biology already but zero firsthand exposure to either profession and don’t know anyone in the field.
Looking for a career that’s genuinely in demand, not just interesting on paper. A few questions
How different is the scope of practice between an Acupuncturist and full TCM designation in Ontario
Is the extra year for TCM worth it for jobs or income
If you’re practicing now, are you actually busy or is the market tough
Would you choose the same path again
Would appreciate any real insight before I commit to one.

Funeral Director Students
Hi everyone!
I recently was in for exams and noticed that there were some fellow funeral care students that were not in my direct program that were also attending the same exam dates.
I had a few questions that I hope reaches a few of the lovely, kind people that were there speaking with me that day. I noticed many were dressed very alternative/goth with many styles that would be considered hard to cover up within the work place: shaved hair on the sides, metal nails, piercings, tattoos, gauges in ears. Much appreciate the looks and it was so relieving to see this.
My question is, how much of your style have you had to cover up at the funeral home? I am covered in tattoos and piercings myself and have wanted to get into the same program but I've always felt like I've messed that up with the level of alternative style I've bestowed upon myself.
If this reached anyone- thanks so much in advance for your help! Also you're very cool, kind and I hope you did well that day!!!

Reading Account Summary?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I don't understand how to read the Account Summary. Before making a payment, the Account Summary showed an account balance of approx $13,000 (residence + tuition).
When we went to PayMyTuition, it showed that the outstanding balance was $12,000 because I had a "credit" of $1000. I received an entrance scholarship, so I assumed that the $1000 was the scholarship and paid $12,000.
My $12,000 payment has been processed, but now my Account Summary is showing that I have an Account Balance of $1000. But when I go to PayMyTuition it shows that my Outstanding Balance is $0 and that there is a pending credit of $1000.
So am I all paid up or do I still owe $1000? I'll call on Monday but this is causing me a lot of stress with the tuition deadline being Monday and me thinking that everything was good. Thank you so much for any help in understanding this.
