Googling this question gave me only confusion, so here goes:
Polytheism gives +6 faith on Main Plaza. Shamanism gives +2 per MP and +3 per Administrative Center (outpost or absorbed outpost). Seems simple and obvious that if you have at 2-5 outposts and one city, Shamanism will be crushing it for faith generation. But some people were saying that it depends on if you have mountains or forests. Others talked about population being important. What am I missing?

I managed to destroy the very first outpost of an enemy in the first era. Then killed all units.
Now the "Hunting Party" tribes are respawning again and again, even much later in the game. (Just build Angor Wat)
In the meantime, I was able to take over the entire island. So they have nowhere to go.
they are still shown as unknow in the display at the top.
What is going on..?
Free kills every other turn...

Hello everyone, this is my first post after recently getting the game and playing up to contemporary era.
So far I’m loving the game, but obviously I have a lot to learn as I reached the contemporary era quite behind in tech and army (like, I was still at half of the industrial era tree lol) and through the game my development halted a few times.
I'm planning my next playthrough to go Egyptians>Maya>Teutons>Dutch>French>Soviets, any tips and recommendations of how should I play, how should I set up cities and what wonders should I take that have a good synergy?
I heard that Angkor Wat and Macchu Pichu alongside teutons work quite well, is that true?

This is probably a stupid question, but I just can't find it. How do I see how many luxury and strategic resources I have of each kind? Thanks

Hola, estoy intentando recuperar los DLL antiguos de Humankind (versión Mono) para poder usar Simulation en mods.
Necesito estos archivos:
¿Alguien los tiene guardados de 2021–2022 y puede compartirlos?
Gracias.

I've had this game for a couple years, and this issue is so disruptive, I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed yet.
The game randomly exits combat every so often. With smaller fights, it might not do it at all, but with bigger armies it'll exit combat multiple times in one battle. Usually, it happens when ordering ranged combat units to fire; when I click on the target it deselects the battle completely.
When I click back into the battle, about half of the time they're in the middle of carrying out the order, and the other half they're still awaiting a target.
Is a game setting causing this? I know it's not my PC, as I've had the same issue across 2 computers. It's not my mouse as I've had a few in the same time period (made the mistake of trying EVGA mice before finding out their scroll wheels have a high failure rate). I know I'm not accidentally double-clicking as I don't have this issue with any other game or program. I'm also not using mods.

We're running a small initiative (the finance team may not be super happy about it)
For every Steam review on any of our games, the dev team earns a croissant (yes, we couldn't go more stereotypical with the croissants).
If you reviewed the game in the past, it won't count. If your opinion has changed after recent updates, you're always welcome to revisit it and share your latest thoughts with the community (will do my best to convince the team to add additional 🥐)
BUT If, for example, you did post a review on HK but not on other previous titles you enjoyed, then it might be a good time. And just to be clear: positive or negative, every review counts. We simply love hearing your feedback.
From our side, we wanted to do a small celebration to recognize all the hard work the team has been putting into the game, both on the content that is already live and on what has yet to be revealed. Here a quick recap of our latest updates
We recently released our biggest update yet: Retold Tales, with a major focus on community feedback and improvements suggested by players.
At the end of April, we released our latest scenario, War in the Pacific, with a focus on Naval gameplay. Have you had a chance to try it yet?
Then thank you! If your opinion has changed after recent updates, you're always welcome to revisit it and share your latest thoughts with the community
And yes, we're also taking part in the Steam Summer Sale too! There are great discounts across our catalog, making it the perfect time to jump into a game you were missing or convince a friend to play with you
Thanks again for all the support, feedback, and reviews. They genuinely help both our teams and future players

Do we know who voice acted for the leaders? IMDb lists cast members but just says they did "voices," not which ones. And I'm sure that includes various unit barks and such.
Reason being that the voice for the Edgar Allen Poe leader sounds familiar, so I'm curious if it's an actor I've seen portray Poe at a Victorian-themed festival several times.

I know that it's big of an ask, but still. As of now, the AI is straight up terrible. It doesn't focus on hoarding luxury and strat. resources, doesn't push out up-to-date units in numbers sufficient to protect its domain.
Doesn't know when to push and when to defend, how to concentrate armies in relation to its enemy. In battle, it seems to be oblivious to the terrain and so on...
I hope that you can recommend me a miracle mod that fixes it all 😔

I'm bribing these independent people with money, praising them with influence. I signed them as a client state. Now they are in decline, and I can't do anything about it. Is this a bug, or am I missing a mechanic?

I've started a new campaign some days ago, it had been a long time since my last one. I play my own heavily modded version, but it's mainly focused on units' statistics, some tech rework (imho the tech tree is the weakest part of the game), and some cultural rework. Nothing big.
Anyway, I play on medium maps with several continents, 30% landmass, continents evenly spread out.
I started as Harappans on a small continent with a single Egyptian neighbor, which started friendly but since I wasn't having much luck with encounters was starting to advance faster than me (first city a couple turns before me, Pyramids all over the place, etc). So obviously I decided to go hard on military and crush him before he could bury me. The war was relatively easy, if long. With the entire continent for myself, I focused on growth and territorial gains. I was slow with the naval tech because of how few scientists I had and how much time I spent beelining siege and army technologies.
I was already seeing other cultures' Pentekonteres sailing around my continent, but I finally managed to colonize a big island (around 1/5 of my continent) and ransack and recolonize another big island nearby. As I discovered, those two islands were between my own continent and a much bigger one.
That continent was split mainly between the aggressive William Wallace leading the Olmecs, and Shaka Zulu leading the Nubians. I thought they'd keep themselves locked in some struggle, but I realized at some point Wallace vassallized Shaka Zulu (HOW??? They were the same size).
Being both very aggressive, they both laid claim to my islands, and I tried to resist. Bad idea: both of them were much more advanced and fielded military units of at least a "level" beyond mine. I tried using Spearmen and Swordsmen against Gothic Cavalrymen and it went as well as you could imagine. Their QUadriremes crushed my Pentekonteres.
Initially they only wanted a territory and not my colonial city, but every time I tried to offer them the land they refused. I adopted the Roman culture and used Legions and Quadriremes to fight them off, but I was still constantly on the backfoot. Rome (renamed the colonial city) fell and languished under Gothic occupation for decades at the time. Gothic armies routinely invaded my continent and were barely beaten back at the walls of my cities. It was truly the Barbaric Invasions for all the Classical and Medieval eras.
Finally, slowly, I managed to turn the tide by tortorously maneuvering to concentrate my armies and navies against one stack at the time, and managed to wear them down to a white peace. From then on, my country has switched priorities so thoroughly that every single decision has been focused toward not letting the invasions happen again, and keeping Rome safe. I pivoted hard into naval tech and military, emptied my massive cities to levy troops, and cannibalized weaker cultures far away to build a "reserve". The Early Modern era was the first one when I wasn't always on the backfoot.
The campaign went on, I got invaded and lost Rome more times, but slowly managed to turn the tide and finally obtain military superiority. I'm now in the early Industrial Era and I'm now on top and invading THEIR continent.
The AI's aggressiveness pulled me from the expected "long, semi-peaceful game" I tried early on and forced me to be shrewd and militarist. I especially enjoyed being hard pressed by a competent opponent instead of steamrolling.
This game is still so good!

Hi, new humankind player here !
I wanted to know how to disable this info window. It's always fading in and out when I move the mouse, which tends to happen a lot, and it's quite annoying.

Me last time playing this game was more than a year ago, I remember noticing how some infrastructure is never worth building.
Today I had a look at Levy Administration. It costs 570 production and provides 3 gold per city. It's ridiculous. Am I missing something?
If indeed this is an oversight and just Amplitude being Amplitude, is there a low impact mod that fixes this?

With the game being on sale on Epic, I'm thinking about picking it up for a friend but :
1- is it crossplatform multiplayer, and could we play together if I have it on Steam?
2- do he need to own all DLC for me to use them in MP, or is it like Stellaris and other games where only the owner of a game needs to own DLCs?

As the title reads.
Can my the leader I play as benefit from the "strengths"?
Those strengths that I unlock and attach to AI characters. Do I benefit from those if I play those characters? I seems I can't; at least my strengths don't show in the diplomacy window

Did they ever add an option to speed up the unit animation? I feel like I could read a short book while waiting for my tribe to move a few hexes.
