Hows a going lads new to this forum im in ireland the clutch pulley is giving bother on my zoomer/ruckus and im finding it hard to find parts

And so it begins…

I bought this BR brand new in April of ‘06. It’s been parked since 2011 and made several moves since. Through all kinds of crazy personal shit, it’s waited for my attention. Now I’ve the time and motivation. Let’s DO THIS.

Picked up two Honda Ruckus scooters on Marketplace for $800. Both were super dusty and looked like they hadn't been touched in years.

After getting them home, I cleaned everything up and found both fuel tanks were heavily rusted inside.

The 2016 was a big win. The battery took a charge, I cleaned the carb in an ultrasonic cleaner, and to my surprise it fired right up and runs flawlessly.

Now for the 2007. I cleaned the carb and noticed it has larger jets, which wasn't surprising considering the mods on it. I replaced the fuel tank, installed a new battery and fuel pump, and it starts right up too.

The issue is that I had to adjust the throttle slightly open to keep it running, and when I give it a quick blip of throttle, the RPMs hang high for a couple of seconds before slowly dropping back to idle.

Mods I know of:
- Aftermarket intake
- Polini variator
- Larger jets
- Possibly more engine work, but I won't know until I dig into it.

My questions:
- Could I still have some junk in the carb, maybe from dealing with the rusty tank and old fuel system?
- Could it simply be jetted wrong?
- Is it getting too much air from the aftermarket intake?
- Any other common causes of a hanging idle on a modified 2007 Ruckus?

Appreciate any advice. I'm new to the Ruckus world and trying to save these scooters from the dead.

Hi! I bought a 2023 with ruckus a few days ago with 3000km and I'm going through the maintenance routine. I wanted to "start fresh" and change out the coolant and oil and gear oil. I've never done mechanical work before. How often do you change the gear oil? I think there is a recommended number in the manual, but I see that many enthusiasts change their fluids more frequently than the recommendation. Let me know what you think. I need all the help I can get over here. Thanks.

so I have no experience on a motorbike or a moped, but I think it would be fun to ride a ruckus, its on my bucketlist and I really want to give it a go. The only problem is honda don't make them here in the UK.

is there a honda ruckus adjacent bike I should check out? are there like weekend courses where I can try out a honda ruckus somewhere?

There are zero new Honda Ruckus (not sure how to pluralize that) available. I hear that there was some issue with emissions. Does anyone know what the deal is and when they will be back in dealerships?

I’ve been having an issue for the past week or so and I don’t really know what to do. I’ll be driving down the road going around 30 mph. Every 2-5 seconds the scooter noticeably slows itself. It feels like it’s being pulled back. It’s the strangest thing. Has anyone had any similar issues? I’m convinced that a certain spot in the road “fixes” whatever issue this is because every time I drive down it the same 50-150 feet it’s opens all the way up and quits bogging….for like ten seconds. Then I pass this spot and it starts pulling again.

I just bought a 2012 Ruckus from an estate. The key works the ignition , but it won’t remove the fuel cap. Does anyone know if a cap comes with a lock cylinder coded to the vin? Or do I need a lock set? I am ready to drill the lock but I don’t want to ruin it without cause.

I bought a 2022 Ruckus with 450 miles used from a Honda world dealer. I had it about 48 hours when I went to start it in the morning the battery was dead and there was a clicking sound when I turned the key on so I had to kick start it and it took a few tries. I road it for about 10 minutes when going down the road and it lost power and died on me. Same situation I turned the key got the clicking sound, and pressed the button with no start so about 20 tries to kick start it and it got running. It died on my one more time while I was riding home. I took it back to the dealer today and they replaced the battery and proceeded to tell me the clicking sound that was not there prior is normal and nothing to worry about. Is this the fuel pump going out or is it actually normal even thought it wasn’t doing that the first two days I had it. The tech and salesman both told me the fuel pump is supposed to make that sound. Please tell me if I am crazy or not.

Edit* thank you all for your help! I took it back to the dealer today after it died on me the first ride I brought it home from them replacing the battery. They replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the carburetor free of charge. Hopefully when I get it home this time it’s smooth sailing from here!

I removed the valve cover and now it acts like the engine is stuck if it is fully seated but turns over just fine with it removed. What did I fuck up and how do I fix it?

So a while back I made a post about an under seat storage that I use at a toolbox but I guess can use it for anything. My DMs were FILLED with inquires about getting them. Well after a ton of durability testing it’s pretty much ready to go.

But before I list it, to make it work you have to cut up the existing plastic parts inside that box like mine is. No idea what it’s even for. But would you guys like an option where you didn’t have to cut it, but have a smaller storage area? Or keep just the one and you’ll cut out those little plastic pieces anyways like I did?

This is my first ruckus build. I got it from a guy on Facebook marketplace for 300 and it was torn apart and trashed. I am now so close to having it running again but just can't seem to get it there. If you have any insight on what the issue might be I'm willing to try anything! Thank you!
