This is my first post here, so hello everyone! :)
I desperately need advice. I'm graphic artist and painter, but I've never combined digital and painting technique. For me idea of 'hand embellishing' print with paint has never maked it 'more original', because I was taught traditional printmaking with limited edition prints, which every was 'the original'.
But because of expectations of my gallery, I have to veryfify my approach.
I found two places, were I can print giclee: one is on Canson PhotoArt ProCanvas 395 gsm with UltraChrome HDX pigment inks, the second one is on HP Canvas and 8-color HP Vivera pigment inks. The second printing house has longer tradition and more expierience, but they coudn't advise me on how oil paint on print would behave after some time.
Does anyone has an expierience with oil painting on giclee print and could please tell me, what should I chose? And if this effect would have long, archival quality and last years?
I only need few strokes on a print, so I'd rather not cover all picture with gel medium, if that possible... I don't want to lose color saturation of ink.
And unfortunatelly I can not use acrylics.
I'll be really very grateful for your help!
