A beautiful lunar ballad portraying the transformation of a human being into a wolf through acoustic guitars & sublime melodic howls.

In my late teens I was totally into those unbelievable artful, anarchistic comics from the 70/80s.

Itching to get some missing ones now, hehe.

Pricing question

Hello, I am looking to sell my collection as one large unit. I have most issues and years and have found a local buyer who is interested. What would be a good price for each magazine?

Exterminator 17 in black and white?

I'd like to read the original run of Exterminator 17 by Dionnet and Bilal in black and white. I appears that the 2018 hardcover is colorized. Was the original b&w ever collected? Or the only way to read it is to track down scans or issues? Thanks for any help.

Edit to add: posting in this sub because the series was originally published in Metal Hurlant and Heavy Metal.

I got my grail. Now what the hell do I do with my life?

Been collecting HMM for 20 years. I've got every issue from the late 70s, the whole 1980s run, most of the 1990s, and everything from the early 2000s (up to about 2007). All 4 Moebius collectors editions, and all 10 OG Fantagor issues of Den. They've survived multiple moves, even a couple big cross-country moves.

I've only ever seen #1 in the wild once before, and it was in ROUGH shape. This baby is a beauty though, well-kept in a frame and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. But I sort of feel like a lifetime adventure is winding to a close...what the hell do I do now?

Edit: Thank you all for the recommendations! Off to hunt for some Metal Hurlant and the elusive #183 Frank Miller Variant 😍

Exterminators #1 & 2

I'm seeking images from an unknown artist...black and white illustration, very detailed style The premise was a dystopian future where assassin robots hunt bounties etc. The first robot had legs/ arms with large ball type joints and a mantis style head with twin antenna. The second robot had these large tank style tracks instead of legs, same stylized head etc. The robots/ androids were simply called "Exterminators". Any help locating an issue or on line reference would be greatly appreciated. Circa 1970's

MEND💙🪡 🍜 🧦

"Some people wear their hearts on their sleeves. Mend falls apart instead."

Mend is a timid zombie girl whose emotions are impossible to hide. Every feeling she has manifests physically through her strange, stitched-together body. When she's nervous, her hands slip from her wrists. When she's embarrassed, her head pops right off her shoulders. When life becomes too much to bear, she simply collapses into a scattered pile of pieces.

Her body is held together by thick scar seams and countless stitches, evidence that she's spent her entire existence putting herself back together.

Despite her unsettling appearance, Mend is incredibly gentle and kind. She has a soft, melancholic demeanor and speaks quietly, often apologizing for things that aren't her fault—like accidentally dropping an arm or taking too long to reassemble herself. She worries that she's inconvenient, fragile, or "too much trouble," even though the people who care about her rarely see her that way.

Because she feels vulnerable when her seams are exposed, when she leaves her crypt to spend time with the other ghouls, Mend buries herself beneath oversized, tattered clothing several sizes too big. The loose layers make her feel safe, shielding her exposed seams from curious eyes while giving her something to disappear into. Whenever she's anxious, she instinctively pulls her sleeves over her hands. The extra fabric also serves a practical purpose—if a finger or even an entire hand slips off unnoticed, it's far less likely to get lost.

She never wears shoes, her bare stitched feet quietly padding across the ground, as footwear would only end up abandoned somewhere after one of her many accidental mishaps, though she does sometimes wear socks when she remembers to put them on.

Her relationship with her condition is complicated. There are days when she wishes she were sturdier, less breakable, less messy. But over time she's begun to understand something important:

"Falling apart doesn't mean you're broken."

Carries a small sewing kit everywhere.

Numbers or labels are stitched onto some of her limbs so she knows where everything goes.

Sometimes a hand falls off while waving goodbye.

Every time she comes undone, she patiently gathers her pieces, sews herself back together, and keeps going. That quiet resilience is what truly defines her.

Also: no brain, no pain. She is very stupid.

She is addicted to ramen despite having no digestive system. Luckily, she has an endless supply... she vomits it back up and eats it again.

Yum.

Looking for an interview in an old copy of heavy metal I had but can't seem to find...

There was an interview with Peter Chung (Aeon Flux creator) and I remember it being adjacent to something about Mario 64. This was in the 90s so I probably lost the issue itself and google seems to think it's March 97, but even with that I've been having trouble finding the interview itself. Back issues on the site seem to be sold out with no digital options.

Would Ghost of Mars have made a great Heavy Metal segment?

Also do you think John Carpenter would make a great writer for Heavy Metal in general? I feel like Carpenter and HM go well together like peanut butter and jelly.

[BTW I meant *Ghosts in the title.]

Auber 2026🚀🪐

Post image
19 Upvotes

Auber is a chaotic little alien who treats Earth like one giant thrift party. Curious, playful, and just a kiss from feral, she's always collecting weird junk, making questionable inventions, and accidentally causing trouble wherever she wanders. She's also a zero-G interstellar raver who gets into music the way raccoons get into trash. 🗑️🦝

Rather than following maps or stars, Auber follows bass. If her antenna can feel a beat pulsing through the cosmos, she's already on her way.

She sees beauty in things everyone else overlooks.

Broken electronics become art. Forgotten trinkets become treasures. Half of what she owns was "borrowed" from a curb, a flea market, or a junk pile, and she'll proudly tell you the story behind every single piece.

When she's not dancing in zero gravity or digging through someone else's "trash," she's making friends with strangers, collecting odd little keepsakes, and chasing the next adventure with infectious enthusiasm.

Mostly harmless. Mostly. 🚀😈

Aubs won't just steal your heart—she'll devour it. 💚👽
