Start by learning how to research. You are not the first and def not the last person to ask this question.

If you are interested in web hacking, check out Port Swigger Web Academy and follow its roadmap.

To learn network and host based hacking I recommend you for advanced level HackTheBox and INE.

If you want I can also recommend you a couple of hacking YT channels.

Check out this YouTube channels - they show real hacking scenarios or explain how the vulnerabilities work and can be exploited: @Medusa0xf, @MomImAHacker, @cyberflow10, @whoamitang, @Cyb3rMaddy

It’s all about researching, understanding, and experimenting with what you’re working with. Research is the first place to start. You may say “that’s what I’m doing with this post,” but it’s not. I say that because we don’t know WHAT you have questions about with where to start. Is it in a general sense? If so, that’s too broad of a question. Find a topic, research it, then ask specific questions. You’ll get much better answers. If you want a basic place to start, I’d say learn an operating system (pick one and learn it REALLY well) or networking, unless you have a background in electrical engineering. If you have an EE background, maybe start with hardware hacking.

Then what part do I need to expand on, because that wasn’t the response I’d expect if you had.
