Now that Suni is oficially back I wanna throw something crazy in the conversation, her getting a bronze medal in the 2028 floor final? I think its possible, after all she is the 2019 world silver medallist and this cop actually helps her (connections + heavy artistry deductions). The layout:

HDDEDCCC + 0.7: 6.1 D-score (actually 6 because of her most likely failed L-turn)

With a 6 point difficulty score and her usually great E-scores with little artistry deductions (which seem pretty important for the judges this quad), i think she has a shot at a floor medal.

This routine doesn’t seem impossible for her, she sometimes overdid her final double tuck in 2024 and she trained for a bit the front double twist.

I love both of them, but can someone please explain how Zoey got a 7.85 E score whereas Skye received an 8.1 with a big break? Scoring discrepancy is so frustrating to me

It's well past the deadline for the Romanian side to pay the fee and I couldn't find any updates once it had passed about whether or not they were able to pay it. Has anyone seen or heard anything?

So I have been seeing this post on tik tok about this man asking other men ( and most of the men are African American) would they rather see their son go to college for D1 gymnastics or D3 basketball.

Majority of the responses from these men have been that they want to see their son so D3 basketball because of the “image” it would give them to have a son do gymnastics.

I really wish this stigma would stop because there are so many young black athletes who would thrive in gymnastics but because of toxic masculinity they are limited to only football, basketball, or track. This is why we need more black male elite gymnastics pushing the sport in a positive manner.

And yes I know a certain Olympian is doing this already BUT his uniform agenda is only fueling the rhetoric that these men are spewing. I think he should focus less on the uniform because that is only confirming what they think.

How does everyone feel about this?

Now that Suni is back, if she stays healthy, i think she will most likely be the #1 USA bar worker for LA right? Her coach just said she was at 70% capacity in Paris so i think this routine is pretty possible:

If im not mistaken this would have a 7.0 d-score and with the Jaeger 1/1 Suni almost got named after her, the 1/2 version shouldn’t be too difficult + this is a very similar routine from what she usually does. Maybe she’ll bring her stalders back?

Piggybacking off my last post, what discipline do you follow most closely and why? What are your thoughts on the other disciplines? What draws you in most?

I don’t know the back story here and was wondering if anyone had any further info about what happened at GW under Margie Foster Cunningham. I was a bit confused by the wording of the posts at first, but it looks like Zois is upset at GW for quoting the former head coach she had spoken up about (not about the incoming or departing coach). Understandably so.

Hey, I am majorly excited about Katelyn Ohashis comeback. I understand that it's a long long way still until LA, but I was wondering what elements, upgrades and difficulty she would likely need to bring and what she might be working on. Also, would she need all four events?

CWG is the big one upcoming this week, although we’ve also got national championships in artistic and rhythmic happening in Germany along with Italian artistic champs and the start of the Central American and Caribbean Games. For CWG you can find everything I know in the CWG master post. Known rosters are linked there, and you can find the schedule and draw as well. At the moment, we believe live scoring will on Longines but nothing is actually live yet. When it is, I’ll come back and update.

If you live in a Commonwealth country, watching will probably be pretty easy. Outside the Commonwealth is a bit of a mystery at the moment. It may require a VPN.

And for those who are curious, Tiana Sumanasekera makes her debut for Sri Lanka in sub 2.

On a bureaucratic note, the IEC clarified which meets will be considered when filling out additional open spots for US Championships. As a reminder, 52.5 is the threshold to automatically qualify. If they don’t fill all the spots that way (which they haven’t this year), they will fill the remaining spots using AA scores at the meets listed in the document, with a lower threshold of 51.5.

The Euros nominative rosters (WAG, MAG) came out last week along with the draws (WAG, MAG).

Austrian WAG and Croatian MAG announced their teams. This will be Illia Kovtun’s debut for Croatia. (After CWG concludes, we will have master posts MAG and WAG Euros as well as RG Worlds.)

Singapore announced its teams for the Asian Games later this year.

MAG results: - 2nd Swiss Euros Trial - Linz Friendly (Norway won this, the team sat down on the medal stand to do the Viking row and nearly toppled the whole setup because it was just stacks of mats)

I've always sort of wondered who frequents the gymternet. I was a really weird mix of chronically online internet kid and elite gymnast. I know plenty of other people who follow gymnastics religiously and have never done it in their lives.

What's everyone's relationship to the sport?

I have to say, the women’s leos are absolutely gorgeous, and they look so good on everyone! I especially love the dragon details that are on our main leos (which is the national symbol of Wales), and I love the image of the Roper twins together, as I think they look absolutely stunning here ❤️🥹.

Edit: I also wanted to add that I love the Celtic patterns that they added on the sleeves to our secondary leos, as it represents our Celtic heritage, and I think it adds a beautiful layer to the leo!

The last update I saw was that it was likely moving to settlement, but was it confirmed that the parties settled? If so, were the terms of the settlement confidential?

I get that it’s not an easy job, but yesterday’s commentary felt distractingly bad to me. There was SO much talking, yet it felt like it didn’t really add anything. Sam would NOT stop talking during routines. At times, they contradicted each other, over talked each other, or under talked each other. I remember one moment John directly asked something to Sam and she did not respond, making it dead silent during a replay. Laurie then kind of emergency jumped in to ramble about something. At another time, Sam said something along the lines of “This can happen when you don’t get enough numbers under your belt” and Laurie blurted “OR ENDURANCE!” then it just trailed off into nothing. And don’t get me started on the “Merch” chant. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Overall, just felt awkward, unprofessional, and unpolished.

All this to say, if you were hiring commentary at NBC, who would your dream panel be?

The scoring was definitely a bit ~vibes~ based on a lot of the routines, especially vault and bars. But at least we can see the full routines and get a sense of how they'd actually stack up.

I really liked Izzy Stassi's second vault. Looking NCAA ready!
