AMP PHOTO New Amp Day! Bugera G5
I got my new amp today. Well, sort of new, was an open box.
I hooked it up to an old Fender speaker I have. Been playing it a lot so far. I have it 0.5 watt and it's pretty cool. I can crank it up and it's not very loud but I get really good distortion from it. Comes with a foot switch too.
The U.S. / U.K. morph is kind of meh. I cannot really tell much difference between the two. The U.K side has a little more treble or intensity to it. Whereas the U.S. side seems a little more mid range.
But it's really not very perceptible to me. I will find me a cheap Chorus, Delay and maybe a Rat clone or Fuzz box. I don't know, that's down the road a bit.

Alguien interesado en este Titán?
Quiero desarme de mi Trace Elliot por qué ya no toco en directo. Suena cañón. Cuanto diríais que cuesta?

DISCUSSION I’m always surprised how well cheap solid states can sound.
I have this very well loved fender champion 40, I’ve moved on to a 68 custom DR, yet every time I plug into my old amp I’m always pleasantly reminded how good it sounds. I’m always trying out pedals for different sounds and yet my little champion does it just fine for me, although not better than my deluxe, I would say it’s on par in terms of quality to be quite honest. I’m using the metal channel with my volume on 10 and the gain set to 0, Treble 5 and bass I think 6. It’s such a cool little amp and it wouldn’t sound bad on a recording either.
Do you guys experience anything like this?

How does one fix wonky/loose speaker cable jack?
A little hard to see from the pics but this speaker cable came loose when I hit it against the wall whilst plugged in. Thankfully the amp and cab are fine but both sides of this came loose and slightly worried about the connection failing and killing my power amp.
There doesn't seem to be a way to get the metal cap with the solder joints off from the jack part itself to tighten it or anything

HELP Looking for some sort of shelf/ table to stack combo amps
Excuse my crude drawing, but I’m looking for some sort of shelved table with at least 24” of vertical clearance between shelves to hold 2 combo amps and then my record player on top in order to save some space in my apartment. Bonus points if it has wheels so I can move it around if I have to. The utility is the most important aspect obviously but also appreciate beauty as well if it’s painted or has a wood grain design or something. Please help!

HELP Recone or New Speakers
I purchased a 73 super reverb to do a complete overhaul. Regarding the speakers, I am unsure about whether I should have the original cts alnicos reconed, or purchase new speakers.
How decent were those early 70’s silverface cts alnico speakers? Would I be better off selling them and getting some webers?

GUTSHOT U-235PB Progress
This Lafayette u-235PB has been fun to restore. Just got the Mouser order sent so it'll be onward and upward soon. I'm doing caps, diodes and a busted bias trim pot, upgrading the cord to 3 prongs... all the usual stuff and hopefully this will be a fun and versatile amp. I am also stoked to see how it'll do on a bass rig with a proper driver. I think the next post will be: A) fire department arrived. B) "help?! Its broke!" And/or C) "ITS ALIVE!
Until then I'll just be fetishizing my gear and doodling amps. I do commissions and nudes (amps only, no people).

Parallel or series wiring?
Hi, I just bought a used Marshall 2x12 cab. The original cones were parallel, but they got changed with Vintage 30s and the previous owner wasn't sure if they also changed the wiring. Is this a parallel or series wiring? Thanks, sorry for the maybe dumb question

Just picked up this Custom Shop BadCat HotCat 50
What a sweet blend of glassy cleans and JCM-esque drive. Can’t wait to crank it and take it on the road.

Need help deciding between Jazz Chorus series
I picked up a jc-120 I believe an 80s model. Also on a whim picked up a jc-90. Now, I like the small package on the 90, the bass response is nice. It's surprisingly very loud at minimal volume by comparison to the jc120.
This is a bit of an issue because I live in an apartment. Other factors, I am looking to play guitar and my bass VI through the same rig. Not sure if the aluminum cones on the speakers play a large factor of one versus the other.
Anyone have opinions to favor one over the other?

AMP PHOTO New amp day - Fender Supersonic 60
About 8 years ago I owned a Supersonic 22, and I really enjoyed that amp but due to circumstances and moving across country I unfortunately had to sell it.
I have been looking for a cheap one ever since and came across this Supersonic 60 for a whopping $550. It sounds phenomenal, I have not been able to stop playing it.
For those unfamiliar with this amp, the clean channel has a Vibrolux setting and a Bassman setting, the burn channel has two cascading gain stages and it can get flat out raunchy and everything in between. There is also an effects loop with send and receive levels that is foot switchable (I’m currently using a jumper between and have it set as a boost). The footswitch can also toggle between Vibrolux and Bassman, and then also the burn channel of course.
Something else sort of interesting is that this amp also has a pre amp send and power amp return independent of the effects loop.

HELP Looking for amp recommendations
Hello, bedroom guitar hobby player here.
TLDR: need an amp for cleanish overdriven blues tones at low TV volumes for European flat with neighbours and one (soon two) baby(ies) at home. Currently own a Spark 2 by Positive Grid, looking for something more real (Tube or tube-like).Blackstar St. James 6L6? Fender Tone Master Princeton reverb? Something else? Or should I just stick with the spark 2?
I currently own a Fender deluxe roadhouse stratocaster with pick ups I replaced with handwired ones from a local luthier, going for that 63' Strat vibe.
I have a small Spark 2 practice amp, which I like for several reasons, however I want to play something that feels more real. I got into clean or slightly overdriven blues tones, started chasing some SRV and Hendrix type of tones as well. Bought a XIAO Cornerstone Gladio Double pedal, which is my first ever pedal. Got it to try and replicate a dumble style sound and I fell in love with the pedal. However, I don't think my Spark 2 is such a good platform.
I started researching for a different amp and really love the idea of a tube one. However, living in an European flat, I kinda feel guilty playing loud with neighbours next door. Also I have a baby, which turned 1 year 3 months ago and also another one on the way. So playing at low (TV volumes) is a big part of my practice. Headphone output is a must as well.
AI recommended me the Blackstar St. James 6l6 amp, I kinda liked the idea, but I can't seem to find and try it out locally, so would have to order it from abroad. Online I found little to none real life users' reviews. Someone mentioned a lot of them have power issues and the repair is nearly impossible, Blackstar customer service are non existent and this scared me.
A local shop is currently selling a Fender Tone Master Princeton reverb second hand in excellent condition for 690 euro. I tried it out, but they put me in a soundproofed 2x2 sq.m. room and I noticed the following: on 0.3W attenuation the volume was ok, but switching to the next possible attenuation (not sure if it was 0.75w) the tone was so much nicer and fuller. However, seemed to me a bit louder at 4-5 volume than I what I think would be ok for neighbour-friendliness. It might be okay, it's kinda hard to imagine how it would sound in a bigger 35 sq.m living room. I think the boxy soundproofed 2 by 2 room might have exaggerated the volume. However, TM Princeton doesn't have a headphone output...But could probably get attachment to use headphones.
Anyone with experience with the Blackstar St James 6l6 or the TM Princeton reverb? I saw some people also like the Laney super 60. I'm sure there must be other options as well.
Any suggestions?
Thanks and happy shredding everybody!

DISCUSSION Anyone else use subwoofer boxes as cabs?
EDIT: I meant empty boxes i am not using subwoofer speakers.
So around a year or two ago I was searching for a 1x12 cab that wouldn't cost too much. Building one wasn't an option since the cost of tools/materials would be way too much and I live in an apartment with a pretty tiny patio. I stumbled upon a subwoofer box at a dead mall in a bargain shop for $15 and ever since that has been my main 1x12 cab.
Now im shopping for a 2x12 and considering grabbing another subwoofer box to save money since i already have some speakers that have been sitting around. Has anyone else really done this? I feel like its a pretty cheap way of getting cabs that arent 4x12s or 4x10s for way cheaper than you can usually find on the used market. Speakers are also not too pricey if you do some fb marketplace stalking every once in a while. Sure you'll need to do a tiny but of soldering and maybe screw in a handle but thats about it.

AMP PHOTO NAD: 90lb of toan
Found an Ampeg VT-22 today, my holy grail! Shocked but not surprised by the sheer heft of this monster. My AirBrake is going to be a necessity to play this thing at tolerable volumes but excited to give it a rip at my next show!

DISCUSSION I've never seen a BOSS amp quite like this...
I was searching around on eBay and stumbled upon this https://www.ebay.com/itm/307061534676 I had no idea they made white BOSS Katana amps and as we all know, the Katana Mini is widely regarded as the best tiny practice amp you can get! What do you guys think? Does anyone have any more detail on this unique piece?
