I know wisdom says to start the trail late June; however, I was wondering if there was a section or part of a section that is low enough to do a 5-7 day hike in the first two weeks of June. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I was wondering what your opinion on the gdt is. So I’m currently in college and would have may 22 to August 19 off of school (I don’t really mind missing the first week or two of class).

I would absolutely love to do the gdt but I’m not sure how this timeline would be? I was reading online that a late June start is good, but does anyone have experience with that? I’m ok with snow, I’d prefer not to have a ton of snow (this year I did the jmt early in the year and had miles of snow everyday so I’d rather not do that again lol)

So I was wondering what your experience with conditions and start dates on the gdt is? Thank you!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on affordable parking near the southern terminus? My plan was to park at Lethbridge airport and hitch down, but feeling a little worried about hitching as always. Thanks in advance, happy to pay
