Classic Coming back as a old timer

I was dragged into the game very early on by an online friend. Back then, there were only 4 playable characters (Elesis, Arme, Lire and Ronan which was just added), and I pretty much kept playing until the servers shut down. I've seen the new continents beings added, third jobs, then fourth jobs, the addition of skill trees, of AP characters with Dio, the massive revamp of the game that reduced dungeon sizes and added more monsters... Grand Chase was by far my favorite game, and back then I was very disappointed to see it slowly decline until it eventually shut down. Even up to this day, the default avatar I use on various websites is the Jin teaser image.

Now, so many years later, I find out the game is back on steam. And after a few hours of fiddling with Steam Input, I can comfortably play it again, as a grown ass adult, in my living room, on my big TV screen. It's just insane.

It has changed a lot. What was the main content before now feels like a long tutorial for the true endgame, and the endgame from back then is just a weekly grinding formality. Getting to level 85 takes no time at all. But I'm still having as much fun as back then, if not more. The focus seems to have shifted to a global account progression, and coming from a time where you had to buy character slots with cash, having access to all the characters for free is nuts to me. Actually the game seems extremely F2P friendly and generous with all the events freebies. I'm also very surprised to see new characters being added!

I do still regret some of the whimsy that made the early game special. Like quest-exclusive items you had to collect to complete a quest, or the optional rooms for bonus experience in the dungeons. You can also feel the pacing of the missions is a bit awkward (for example finding 3rd job weapons when you haven't even unlocked 2nd job), and they haven't spent a whole lot of time fine tuning the now-early game. But other than that, I can see myself sinking hours into the game again (and already have!)

That's all I wanted to share. An old fart happy to find out his favorite game he though was lost was actually still alive and going fairly strong!

I'm new and want to start playing Grand Chase, but I can't seem to download it from Stove. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Also, which character should I start with?

Classic Harrier Continent

Does it still exist? I recently started playing again; I’ve already completed all the missions with Azin, but I saw this continent in old YouTube videos. However, it hasn't appeared for me was it removed?

Other Does this skill VFX meet GC standards?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I posted in here a while ago regarding me making a GC-like game in Godot. I’ve been working on my first character, and her skill VFX (she’s very Amy inspired if you couldn’t tell lol)

Does this actually look good? I want the VFX quality to be on par with the official games. Amy’s skills are just so fun and poppy, and I want to try and channel that.
Let me know what you guys think or any suggestions

Classic Is it possible to get enough CDR on Zero's 4th skill so you can chain them nonstop?

I've been stacking as much CDR as I can on Zero but could only get it down to 28 seconds so far. Is 30.40% the max CDR you can get on any skill? One other thing - what does 7.3 CDR means? I've seen this thrown around everywhere and couldn't get a solid answer on it so far.

Classic A player was using hacks in the same room as me. Am I at risk of getting banned?

While I was running Void, there was a player using hack, but I only realized it after the run had already ended. He cleared 4F incredibly fast, and when the match was over, I checked their character and saw he only had around 300k Total Attack.

I forgot to take a screenshot. However, I submitted a ticket to KOG explaining what happened and included the approximate time the incident occurred.

So, my question is: could I get banned for passively benefiting from a hacker without realizing they were cheating?

Just catching up with the story of the game after not touching it and why it's more convoluted than the Kounat's Explosion arc.

Got the box for the mini elesis pet, now I need to decide if I change one of the Rutherfords of the chars I use more for her, or just use her on a char I don't use that much

Classic Grand Chase Classic pre-registration is live on Stove — figured you guys would want to know

just saw this pop up and had to share it here first.

Grand Chase Classic pre-registration opened up on Stove platform. if you've been waiting to jump back in or know someone who used to play back in the day, now's probably a good time to spread the word.

honestly didn't expect to see a pre-reg campaign outside of Steam so this caught me off guard a little. It's interesting to see GC showing up there.

link's in the comments if anyone wants it — didn't want the post to look like a straight promo drop.

anyone else been playing recently? curious how the current playerbase is feeling about the game's direction.

Classic Is there any news about possibly the new character coming to classic, and who i am assuming will be using a sword and shield(finally)?

Because all I've seen so far is the announcement that is coming soon and that's it, i was assuming it would be coming with the new void dungeons that possibly will be void accessories, but now Idk, so is there anything I'm missing or something

Other Grand Chase still smells like a LATAM LAN house in 2009 and I love it for it

The 2019 throwback post and the "thinking of playing again" threads got me, because for a lot of us down here Grand Chase isn't just a game, it's the LAN house after school, paying for an hour, the whole row of us screaming through a dungeon. That's a specific Latin American childhood. The fair regional pricing thread hit too, because part of why it stuck was it was something we could actually afford and grind on equal footing, nobody's dad's credit card carried them.

That last part is what I've been chasing in other stuff, and the one that landed is Ragnarok Origin Classic (ROOC), this classic RO build I play over in the Asian region. The reason I bring it up here specifically is the fairness, no gacha bolted on, the only paid currency just buys cosmetics, and outfits have the same stats whether you paid or not, so a whale and a broke kid hit the same ceiling. Felt exactly like that old equal-footing LAN energy. It's not flawless, high ping from my side and it leans on auto-pathing more than I'd like. They're opening an Americas server now and pre-reg is live, so for once it's not an Asia-only thing for us in LATAM.

For the Grand Chase crowd, what actually pulls you back, is it the gameplay holding up, or is it pure LAN-house nostalgia like it is for me?

Classic So random question, but do any you gals and pals have a character that you spoil more than the rest? And why?

Because i am guilty of doing this and i end up spoiling my Uno more than any other characters and will possibly be spending the next green scrolls into him despite him being quite stylish

And the reason why i spoil him, is because he's the reason of why i came back to grand chase at all, since he reminds me of Ichigo and Ulquiorra in his moveset and that he's quite stylish

As much as i love Azin, i can't get over the thing on his arm that is black and blue and that kinda ruins a lot of tries to make something work for him, since i have to consider that, and I'd consider Dio but he's quite difficult to build a efficient skill in late game
