Discussion What app do you use to play local music files?
Currently using VLC to play files off my network as it's free and already installed, but it's kinda clunky for audio.

Anyone else have this "Scotch tape seal" on theirs?
My first thought is that this might be a return.
Typically this kind of packaging has those adhesive "circles" (for lack of a better term).

If you have any of these devices then BBC iPlayer Apk will shutdown on these devices listed below I believe the version is Dev etc
First to say if your BBC iPlayer didn't come from the Google Play store and you used Downloader you will be affected even though these devices are Google certified they aren't BBC certified that's why you are getting the message pop up
FIRESTICKS WON'T BE AFFECTED
GOOGLE CHROMECAST WITH GOOGLE TV HD AND 4K WON'T BE AFFECTED
GOOGLE TV Streamer Won't be affected
LG, Hisense, Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung eg Smart TV os won't be affected unless you don't get the pop up
Xiaomi Sticks and Boxes, Android TV/Google TV
Thomson Google TV Sticks and Boxes
Any Smart TVs with built in Android TV/Google TV that can't get BBC from the play store
If your devices get the pop up then you will be affected
Leave a comments if you want any more information
I believe you will still be able to cast to the TV with your iPhone or Android

I don't like to be super picky, but I do not understand how a company this big could let these small errors slip by:
In the Google Play Store, the corner radius is very different between the app and the selection frame, and it overlaps.
The first app icon on the Home Screen almost touches the profile picture icon and passes through the top bar.

For a moment I thought they had fixed the "match content frame rate" problem, but no. When I'm on "smooth only," which is how it should be, the message appears "The connected display does not support smooth refresh rate transitions." The only new feature I see is the June security patch. I don't see anything else. I also have another problem that isn't new, and that is that when it's on the home screen there's a strange noise, like a speaker is damaged by water or something, I don't know how to explain it. But it only happens when I'm on the home screen, not when I'm watching content. Oh well, back to my other flawed BuzzTV G.
I'm also including information about VRR where all platforms, including Netflix, are displayed at 60.0Hz, which is incorrect, and that's because it doesn't match the frame rate. The platforms are Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, and Paramount.

Hey, so I know I needed to sideload the iPlayer but to be met with this on a TV box that's pretty new is rather disappointing.
Any ideas on a work around? Is there a newer iPlayer version that I can put on the box?

So today I received my Strong leap-nova-x. Setup somehow was a pain, i could scan the qr and see the device in my google tv app but the stick was stuck at the setup screen. I finally ended up doing a manual setup which worked.
Then I connected mutiple OTG adapters to link my usb data stick to the device, they all not even booted the stick. Tried multiple chargers and adapters.
Anyone successfully used otg with this device? If so, with what power and otg hub?

I've been trying to install apps on my googletv and am just completely unable to.
I keep getting the message: "Can't Install <App name>
Try again, and if it doesn't work, see xommon ways to fix the problem"
I've cleared my cache for the play store and still nothing.

Hi,
i need a small TV to use as a second TV, no streaming, no particular requirements. I'm oriented on a 32 inch full hd or hd ready.
Thje only question is:
- all the TV that i see have only 1 gb ram
Google TV will be very very slow and unsable? A lot of people tell that is slow change TV channel!
In alternative Fire TV with 1 GB have less requirements?
I read that in alternative it's better go with VIDAA or with TiVO OS what do you think about?
Repeat: i will not download app, but i read that google tv on 1 GB RAM is very limited.

I think the price is new? I bought this twice at $30 (one for me, one for my stepmom). I remember the price was increased to $40 earlier this year, but now it's $49.98 (shipped and sold by Walmart).

I recently purchased both Google TV Streamer 4K and a Xiaomi Box (3rd gen), and both of them are giving me the exact same annoying picture issues on my LG TV. I have a health condition which makes me super sensitive to visual stuff like this.
Micro-stutter / Judder: Panning shots just aren't smooth. If I force the streamer down to 24Hz, the judder stays but slows down. If I turn the Hz up, the judder speeds up.
Zero Image Depth: The picture looks totally flat. Backgrounds and foregrounds just blend together and look soft or foggy. There’s none of that sharp "3D" separation between layers.
The native LG TV apps work perfectly. If I watch the exact same show on the built-in TV apps, the motion is flawless and the picture depth is razor-sharp. It only happens on the external boxes over HDMI.
I’ve spent days tweaking settings and nothing works. Here is everything I've already ruled out:
What I've already tried on the TV:
Tested on two different LG TVs with multiple high-speed HDMI cables and different ports.
Real Cinema is on, and I changed the input icon to "Streaming Box" so it doesn't think it's a PC.
Played with every TruMotion setting. Maxing out TruMotion reduces the judder slightly, but doesn't fix it.
Messed with HDMI Deep Colour, black levels, and turned off Game Mode.
What I've already tried on the Streamers:
Tried locking them to 60Hz, 59.94Hz, and 24HZ.
Set Match Content Frame Rate to "Always", the TV does the hardware black screen flash when a video starts, but the judder inside the apps stays exactly the same.
Went into developer options and turned on "Disable HW Overlays," but that made the judder way worse so I turned it back off.
Swapped color formats between YCbCr/RGB and made sure match dynamic range is on.
Forced the audio to PCM stereo to rule out audio sync delay dropping video frames.
Is there any way to fix this? Any help would really be appreciated!

Just watching the World Cup final and streaming on the BBC iPlayer app (I’m in the UK) and there is no option to watch in UHD using the Google TV streamer 4k.
However I then open the iPlayer app native to my LG TV and the UHD option is there.
What gives?
UPDATE: Reinstalled the app and the option has now appeared.

Hi all,
Don't remember if I posted here already.
But I have mi box s 3rd gen connected with old dumb tcl tv with busted speakers, tv has external cheap speakers connected via aux cable (3.5mm).
TV itself has good volume, but when connected with box, it has very low volume in everything.
TV vol is max, box vol is max, speaker vol is max.
Tried PCM, everything etc, changed hdmi cable as well, didn't work.
I am out of ideas as box only has usb port, bought a cheap usb to 3.5mm, it also had low volume.
Currently box is on latest available update.

Is there a way to tell Google, that using MB, GB and so on is much easier than this?

My initial experience with the Google TV Streamer 4K is a bit mixed. I only bought it because my Samsung TV is about six years old now, and I was hoping for a noticeable performance boost. Honestly though, YouTube actually runs quite faster on Tizen\the Samsung TV itself, and Amazon Prime Video is just about as slow on both.
The main reason I got the Streamer in the first place is, that Tizen doesn't offer a decent IPTV app. I use the "Televizo" app on Samsung Android tablets, which works great, but it isn't available on Tizen. And yes, in that regard, I'm now satisfied.
The primary issue with the Streamer is simply that CEC doesn't always work with the Samsung Q90R, or you just have to be lucky. If you plug the Streamer into HDMI 1 of the One Connect Box (HDMI 3 dedicated CEC Port, is already taken by a Denon AV receiver), it doesn't recognize it as a Google device. Sometimes it detects it as an Apple TV box, other times as an unknown device. Eventually, I manually configured it as a "PC," which got CEC working, but even then, it doesn't work every single time. No matter if you turn on the CEC-Anynet on the SamsungTV or not (hdmi 1 has an option like Enhanced Input-Signal which I turn on). If I were to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in, it would probably stop working again. Once in a while, audio streaming (to a BT headset) drops out, though that happens a bit less often. What frequently fails, however, is using the Samsung remote (the long silver one) with the Streamer. You either need to keep the Streamer remote at hands at all times, or there's just no guarantee it will work.
So it really comes down to luck; you have to keep plugging and unplugging the HDMI cable or follow specific power-on sequences until it finally works. As a manufacturer, Google doesn't even seem to be listed in Tizen's database. It doesn't matter whether you manually set up the new device as a PC, media box, satellite receiver, or gaming console (which always brings up that white setup menu in Tizen).
I also tried a 2.1 hdmi cable and after that the TV told me that it found a "Primacon TV Box" which is obviously wrong and CEC doesnt work there too, well not the SamsungTV remote, but at least BT Headset Audio is coming through. Can't even tell if the pic quality got better or not...
I think the best result I get when I pull out USB put in hdmi and then put back USB, the streamer goes into boot and then CEC seams to work showing the SamsungTV that an unknown device is connected. If you have to unplug hdmi don't do it before powering of pulling the USB!
Update: Meanwhile I managed to keep it working and looks stable. Google Streamer is still an unknown device for the SamsungTV but at least it works. I got a newer hdmi cable, pluged it in, put USB-C power on the Streamer and then it deteced sth (unknown device), but well it works. It was a lot of work, but in the end. If I ever lose connection to the Streamer, for example after unpluggin the USB-C, I will try the same procedure hoping that it works the same way again. Maybe a firmware updat ein the future of the Streamer can solve this problem...or do I have to blame Samsung\Tizen? Don't know...

I set up my new Google Streamer yesterday (works great) and connects to my Samsung QN800A's 'Samsung One Connect Box' using one of the 4 hdmi slots.
It's connected using a (I think) standard 2.0 HDMI cable.
I read that for 'optimal performance', you should use a HDMI 2.1 cable.
But confused about plugging it into a standard HDMI slot or an e-Arc slot.
Google website states:

I already have my Samsung Soundbar connected via e-Arc, and there is only 1 of these e-arc slots available.
Can I just plug the 2.1 HDMI from the Streamer into a standard HDMI slot?
Any advice is appreciated.

**Voice search issues. Okay team it just started happening last night on two of my tvs the Bravia 5 and my X85j . You hit the Voice search on the remote and it doesn't matter where you are . Home screen or in the u tube app and the four circles keep spinning clockwise and what ever you asked for in the top left corner .The screen also excessively dims and the cursor and words remain while you try to watch TV. I've tried logging out of u tube and power offs etc .Has anyone else encountered this annoying issue?**

I'm able to go through setup on WiFi or ethernet, and reach Google TV home. However when I use ethernet checking for updates fails 90% of the time, search fails 100% of the time and speed tests report 0.1mbps upload speed. I've gone through factory reset using both ethernet and wifi, still nothing. I've exchanged the streamer for another at place of purchase and had the exact same issue. I've tried different cables, and brought a new ethernet network switch, again issue persisted. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm using the native Tapmad app on my TCL TV to watch world cup and the picture looks completely washed out
My TV is on the TCL V8-0008T01 platform (Android 12 / Google TV) (idk exact model sorry 😅)
The weird part is that when I open the TV settings while the video is playing, the TV lets me move the Contrast, Saturation, and Color Tuner/RGB sliders, but changing them has absolutely zero visual effect on the screen... the picture stays completely unchanged, it's so annoying, and I don't wanna cast because when I do cast, it's basically like, lag and stops alot (colours look amazing) the picture mode doesn't really let me like change the colors
How do I fix it if you know plz tell!
