I am 1000% on the “give us a Golden Sun remake that combine the first two games as they were originally intended” train and have been for a long time.
However, I also think it would be really cool to play a prequel version. The (presumably) four great civilizations are at their height, and maybe there’s a fifth underground kingdom that isn’t well known, maybe it’s a faction within one of the four, or something. And in the game we essentially get to find out the details of why the lighthouses were put out in the first place.
The point of the game would be to extinguish the lighthouses and bring the stars to a newly built Sol Sanctum for safe keeping. (GS2 spoiler) Maybe the Wise One isn’t even actually a guardian, but a final middle finger from the antagonists to say, if we can’t have alchemy, no one can!
I guess I just get tired of games always alluding to some past great civilization and then never getting to see it. What do you think? What would you like to see in a prequel story for the series?

hello everyone. I am looking for a suitable name for the Earth Adept in my mod. I don't know if this helps, but the character's backstory is roughly this: when the conflicts that devastated Weyard in ancient times broke out, an abandoned child was raised by an Anemos family, from whom he learned the basics of Psynergy. He stayed there until the arrival of the main protagonist—a young woman aligned with Jupiter—and decided to follow her in the hope of discovering something about his own family. Below, I’m leaving the icon I intend to use for him.

I have found myself trying out a black border to free up the dark red for shading
And I'm torn :(
I feel like black border is more defined but red border feels a little more accurate
That and I would need to red all the previous 6 i have with the new scheme
Input?

I'm working on a project with GSHTML5. The setting is ancient Weyard, during the war that led to the extinction of the light of the elemental beacons and alchemy. The idea is to recreate the entire game world, though I plan to make some modifications to the various dungeons and towns. I already have a rough draft of the plot, but I don't yet know how long it will take or if I'm up to the task. In any case, I wanted to share the first "map" I've completed: a reimagining of the Mercury Lighthouse exterior.

EDIT: Answer Found. I did some digging and turns out there was a ROM editor of the GBA Golden Sun games and my friend boosted all the stats by 50% and gave all enemies an extra turn to attack. This stacks with the hard mode bonuses, which I finished.
My resolution with all of these is just how overpowered summon rushing is. The removal of summon Rushing from the Reloaded Patch makes it far harder than raw stat boosting. Kudos to person who made Reloaded. What an outstanding mod!
A couple of years ago—heck maybe up to five years ago—I requested a friend of mine to install a difficulty mod/hack of the Golden Sun GBA games.
I though he patched it with the RELOADED mod but it was different.
In this mod, the only changes were on the Enemy stats which felt like all of it were bolstered by 50%. It made em all incredibly tanky.
Surprisingly, I think Reloaded is still more difficult because the broken stuff abusable in the base game are still available in your arsenal such as very powerful unleashes and summon rush. The former seems to have been nerfed and the latter outright eliminated in Reloaded.
The difficulty mod is still in my moded 3DS but am curious if anyone else encountered that mod and who made it? I can't seem to find it anymore but I do remember downloading it from the Temple of Kraden website—which btw is hard to navigate now lol.
EDIT: Oh yeah said difficulty hack also gave ALL enemies and extra turn to attack lol.

It's been a long time since I last played Golden Sun. I plan to do another playthrough, but this time, I'll be playing the Reloaded version.
There are a lot of things that interest me about Reloaded. The higher difficulty, buffed bosses, class rebalance, improved AI, stronger Djinn, and other gameplay changes all sound fantastic. However, I'm not going to lie. The removal of Summon Rush is a bit disappointing since it was one of my favorite strategies in the original games.
To those who have completed Golden Sun Reloaded, is it possible to defeat Dullahan without anyone in the party dying? In the original games, I was able to complete No Death runs, but with Summon Rush no longer being a viable strategy, I'm not sure if that's still realistic against a much stronger Dullahan.

I was expecting to fight Alex at the end, or at some point, but the ending just seemed really sudden. I was either expecting an Alex fight at Mars tower, or after the golden sun and he gets all powerful. I feel like his character was so good, just to be discarded as some wise one lesson. I know he’s in dark dawn but it still doesn’t feel like good writing. Did anyone have a similar feeling at the end?

Was visiting the Nintendo Museum in Japan with some friends and unexpectedly saw some Golden Sun stuff. Game boxes for all three games in their respective console sections (GBA and DS).
Each console section had columns of 6-12 games from each release year, so it was pretty cool to see Golden Sun be one of the select few games featured, tucked between your Pokemons and Marios and Fire Emblems.
They also had TVs above each column that rotated between gameplay snippets (with audio) of all the games there. Was maybe the highlight of my visit to see (and hear) that GS lives on in an official Nintendo space, at least in some capacity. (Though the implication that GS is now at best a historical artifact perhaps does not bode well for the future of the series)
I wish I took some photos, but they have a specific no-photos-allowed policy on the museum floor. And I think the staff on the floor outnumbered the visitors at one point, so I didn't want to risk it. But if you're in the area at some point, could be worth a look!

I've been a GS fan since the original game released and I've replayed it so many times since then.
I want to get that experience of playing it for the first time again but obviously that's impossible. So what's some ways of making it feel fresh again?
