This scene isn't in the books, but it does capture the general spirit of Nausicaä and how she helps others in the books (and the movie simply wouldn't have had time for all the events and peoples of the books).

It is just so beautiful. She's probably my favorite character from anything.

Highlight of our bucket list experience -turning to my left and seeing my daughters welling up in tears as they listen to some of their favorite childhood songs being played live!

I was first introduced to Studio Ghibli by my friend in 2016. Spirited Away was my first Ghibli. The beginning scenes (when they enter the tunnel and her parents turn into pigs) stuck with me for years and certainly No face had its impact! I really liked the concept of the film but I didn't't pay much attention to the themes. it was a movie that left me in awe...

i really loved the park as a ghibli fan as many of the movies icons were there but we had to queue to take picture with them. tbh i didnt mind waiting as each queu took about 10-15min. it wasn't much as I only got the pass that allowed me to go to the witch valley, grand warehouse and the mononoke village.i don't recommend u to arrive at 10am on the dot as when i arrive at 9am there is alr a queue. after seeing all the spots I eventually when back at 5pm+ when it was rush hour which was really inconvenient 😓 also I really loved the movie screening at the warehouse as it is only shown there and is never released to the public to watch the short clip(about 10min) and ghibli park is rlly a good place if u want to take pictures as it is combined with a park which has a really nice scenery there!!! one thing to note is that if you want to get the limited heen plushie you should head to Coven 13 gift shop to queue once you get into the park as many people will grab heen and will likely be sold out before noon time. additionally I feel that the mononoke village didn't have much expect the hand on if you have time and I only went there to try the beef jerky shown in the mononoke movie (it tasted quiet okay). the highlight of the Valley of witches was definitely howls moving castle as it had many details (photography wasn't allowed sadly) but it was really interesting to go there and see it for myself. btw if u want tickets to these houses (okino resident, howl castle and the hosue of witch) have to be grab if you didn't get the premium pass as it will be sold out quickly too(i had my family split into 2 - one to get the heen plushie and the other to get the tickets, also if u didnt know the heen plushie as well as the figure of the howl moving castle that can acutally move is limited to one each per person as it is limited in stock!)

note : if u want to get the ticket u must be fast, it sells out FAST

I know this is probably a really long shot but no harm in trying, right? So a few years ago I saw an edit on tiktok of Nausicaä valley of the wind with an Andean song in the background. The intro had flutes is all I remember. I listened to the song for a while but have since forgotten almost everything about it. All I remember is I really liked it. There is most likely only one edit of nausicaä in existence with an andean song in the background. If anyone could help I would be so grateful this is driving me crazy

Many years ago, there was a horrible cam rip of this short online I believe it’s the only film ever to be “leaked”

So it was full circle moment for me. I was begrudgingly watching a horrible cam rip in by best friend’s basement, just a Young broke fan who wanted to catch a glimpse of more Ghibli magic. Going to Japan was only ever a dream, and now being an adult and finally making it happen and by luck going to Japan when it was being shown because they are aways changing out the films every 1-2 months I believe

Hi everyone!

I'm recreating the restaurant street from Spirited Away as a 3D environment, and I'm trying to identify one of the signs before Chihiro's parents enter the restaurant and turn into pigs. (the yellow building next to first green one)

The first two characters look very much like 人肉 (human flesh/meat maybe?), but I can't identify the third one. It almost looks like an "X"-shaped character (maybe 父, 交, or something similar), but none of those make sense.

Does anyone know if this sign has ever been identified? Is it a real kanji/hanzi, an old Chinese variant, or simply stylized text?

So a good friend of mine I grew close to that I no longer really see any more was sweet enough to watch my cat while I was away at rehab for addiction for two months, for free. She left the money I set out behind and even made me a spread for my birthday, the day I returned. I came home to cake, candy, a coffee mug, a nice candle, a little bamboo plant. Iddn't she the best?! So I'm trying to do something special for her.

Well she loves studio Ghibli and her favorite movie is Howl's Moving Castle ... she even colors and sometimes styles her hair like Sophie. So I had this thought for a painting ...

Imagine real black feathers bordering a canvas, that look like wings encompassing it, in the subtle shape of a heart (tips at the bottom). At the bottom right corner is a fake LED stick candle, the flame of which is made out to look like Calcifer (I'll make it work). Painted on the canvas itself, ghibli-style, is a girl dressed all in form-fitting black clothes (my friend, who always wears black and ĺoves to paint) painting a picture of a candle, the light of which, from the candle she's painting, subtley illuminates her face, just as the candle outside of the painting subtley illuminates the room/art studio that is painted.

Surrounding her are cats (she has a lot of cats). In her hand she holds a paint palette that, looking closely, resembles the dial Howl uses to navigate the world from his castle. And ... that's it.

What do you think? How does it read to you on a symbolic level? I may or may not attach a real paintbrush to the painting, the tip of which attaches to Calcifer/the fake candle flame, at the angle the painter in the painting is painting their picture of a candle ... or do you think that's too much? I'm trying to indicate the candle being painted is the candle that illuminates the painting.
