Spoiler Casting - Comings and Goings (Spoilers) - Discussion Thread Spoiler

This thread is for those who wish to discuss casting news but avoid other spoilers on the show. If you wish to discuss casting news and other spoiler information like previews and other future content use the "SPOILERS FOR THE WEEK OF" thread that is also pinned to the top of the sub.

Again, this is just for Casting changes. Do not discuss other spoilers in this thread.

The most recent episode is a SPOILER until 2PM Eastern / 1PM Central the next day after it aired. Just because a casting change has happened in the show, it's still not safe to discuss it outside of the episode discussion threads or the spoiler threads.

This thread will be refreshed from time to time rather than on a fixed schedule due to casting changes being rather random at times.

——————— Q&A ———————

Q: “but why can’t we discuss this openly on the sub?”

A: Many viewers enjoy watching the show without knowing about surprise changes to the cast and we want this sub to be a good place for all viewers.

Q: "but this casting reveal is public knowledge, everyone knows, and I saw someone post it here, it was mentioned on a website and the actor is giving interviews on tv"

A: It's still not cool. Report the person for ruining this for you so we can help keep the sub clean, don't get yourself banned from here by further spreading the spoiler information. If a subject is too hot and needs it's own thread, we'll make a spoiler thread for that subject however this thread should serve as home base for all casting changes.

Is Charlotte about to continue the Spencer women tradition?

Carly (Spencer) was jealous of Robin (Scorpio) and schemed to end her relationship with Jason (Quartermaine) who was in love with Robin.

Lulu was into Dillon (Quartermaine) and jealous of his relationship with Georgie (a Scorpio) and lied and schemed to break them up.

Yesterday Charlotte was clearly crushing on Gio (a Quartermaine) and jealous of Emma (a Scorpio) could Charlotte be following in her mom and cousin Carly's footsteps?

Did I miss Something when Did Stella become chief of Staff?

Watching her and Elizabeth interview Britt was asinine. Now today Stella adding to her book of lists all the hoops required to get her job back. Social workers do mot hire fire or really even have anything to do with what doctors do or do not do on the job. In the past only the board and Chief would deal with doctors.i know its only a soap but for me its supposed to be a show with realistic characters with some over the top storylines. But GH has taken it to a whole new level especially with the courts the police and the DAs office and tge hospital.

What was the point of Anna's gaslighting?

Am I missing something? I know IRL they needed to write the actress off for awhile, but none of it really makes sense. Why would the baddies have bothered with taking out the police commissioner? She was as bamboozled as every one else was about Cassius.

And would Anna really be reassigned as the police commissioner after spending months in a mental institution? Should she even carry a gun?! I know, Laura with her history is the mayor but the police commissioner is a more dangerous position for someone unstable.

Anna, is that really you????

Does anyone else think Anna is not Anna? Maybe Alex? Peter is Alex's son and Anna used to hallucinate about Faison not Peter...

So Scout is 8… going on 16!?

I checked and the new actress playing her is 16 years old.

I’m aware they say she’s 12 in the show… but none of the math adds up…

Wasn’t she born in 2017 or 2018? IIRC her brother Oscar died in 2019 and she was no older than 2 then! That would put her at 8 or 9 currently AT BEST. The actress who played her the longest looked around that age, but they were still saying she’s 12.

lol.

I mean, it’s just a soap opera and it all doesn’t need to make sense or add up, but c’mon!

Outside of RP eye candy was there any point to the Nathan/Cassius story???

I will admit, it was great seeing Ryan Paevey again. He also has really improved as an actor. But truly, what did this almost year long story accomplish???

— Nathan is still dead and we got no significant reaction from his loved ones, particularly Maxie and Nina (who claimed finding out Nathan was alive was “the best day of my life” yet was making wise cracks with Jack like 12 hours after finding out he is genuinely dead).

— Joss is still WSB. She was shot but will be fine.

— His character had sex once offscreen with Lulu. She had no reaction to finding out she had sex with and threw away her closest friendship for an imposter outside of slumping back in a chair and looking sad. She does not appear to be mourning his death or even having complicated feelings.

— Dante also had no on screen reaction to losing his best friend a second time.

— Cassius and Joss were clearly chem tested but never even shared a heated kiss. A first for her!!

— Britt’s back at work and doesn’t have Huntington’s. Which 95 percent of the audience guessed.

— James is mad at Cody. I wonder if he’ll ever forgive him?? (Said in intense sarcasm).

Seriously though, I don’t understand why people are saying this is like the best written show on TV. Ryan Paevey is great but this was a flop. I know there were likely behind the scenes factors but that doesn’t excuse the lack of reactions and fallout.

Joss and her handler

I still want Joss and her handler to get back together. I’m not done with that one.

Carly and Tracy know

How do Michael and Sonny not know yet that Jason is back lol. It makes no sense. Tracy would've told Michael if not Carly would've and then she definitely would've told Sonny by now.

Pretty sure the only plausible one to not know yet would be Britt.

Why hasn't ELQ hired Britt and Liesl to develop Cold Fusion as a cheap, clean, green infinite energy source???

Britt is broke and begging, when she's basically Thomas Edison + Henry Ford + Oppenheimer at this point.

She could have Musk Money, but she's whining about a room at Bobby Kelly's??

Ludicrous.

Which characters are on too much?

I feel like there’s a major imbalance in the screen time shared amongst the cast. Some characters are on too much and they’re becoming annoying, or just don’t serve much of a purpose the main ones for me that I could do less with are:

-Lulu: I swear she’s on everyday
-Curtis: Beyond annoying at this point. Needs time away
-Jordan: she hasn’t anything important to do in 5 years
-Trina: She’s just annoying, and is on way too much for someone who isn’t a fan fav
-Charlotte/Rocco/Danny: grouping them together because of I’m tired of the young teen scene. There’s no love triangle cuz they’re all related, and they just had a major story, time to put them on the back burners.

You have the chance to axe five current characters. Who are you getting rid of?

I thought this could be an interesting game (as long as everyone remains respectful). Reducing the current cast frees up screentime for other characters and storylines, and I think GH would really benefit from that. If you had the power to eliminate 5 characters currently on the show, who would you get rid of and why?

I’d get rid of:

Joss, Britt, Curtis, Chase and Brook Lynn

I’ve never liked Joss or Britt and I wouldn’t miss them if they left. They’re both boring and have bad attitudes. I dislike the writing for Curtis and think the character (and the women around him) could use a break. Chase and Brook Lynn are both boring and annoying in my opinion.

There are several other characters I considered, but these five would be first to go.

Nina and Brennan--I like

So I haven't liked Nina in any couple for a really long time. And I was only so so on Brennan and Carly. These two are both so morally bent in so many ways with ironclad loyalty in other ways I find them quite interesting together. And I love that Brennan seems to have/ has gotten over Carly.

Unlike the Carly brand in relationship, this Nina Brennan thing is honest. And Brennan is very appealing in the way he reacts to Nina.

Jordan caused Portia's labor to come on. Please tell me that's going to come up sometime

Is anything going to be said about Jordan forcing Portia's labor to begin with her aggressive "do what's right for Curtis" talk she had with her?

I mean yes, Jordan helped deliver it & that's great & all & sure the baby was in there 2 years already but it was clear that Portia went into labor because Jordan came over there & started an argument with her & stressed her out.

Turning “my daughter” into a drinking game

Between Carly and Nina, the number of times one of them says “my daughter” lately is hilarious! I think I’ll turn it into a drinking game and see how I am at the end of the episode 🤣
