I know Outdoor Vitals gets mixed reactions on this forum, but I’ll offer an honest comparison: I sold a Durston Kakwa 55 here to buy this pack, and I personally found the Outdoor Vitals pack more comfortable.

The larger, more form-fitting hipbelt worked much better with my 38-inch waist, and the carbon stays carried the load extremely well. I also preferred the additional organization, especially the two top pockets and the divided exterior pocket.

The center zipper may be a little gimmicky—I never really used it to access the main compartment—but I liked how its construction divided the large exterior pocket into separate sections.

• Large hipbelt: recommended for a 38–42-inch waist measured at the belly button

Looking for a backpacking sleeping pad, preferably the Therma-a-Rest NeoAir XLite NXT or Nemo Tensor All Season. Size Regular. Would love to buy two, for me and my wife. I think I would prefer Regular Wide, but I have the Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 tent and with the floor plan tapering down to 42 inches, I think two Regular Wide sleeping pads would overlap or push on the side.
