Journalist Janine di Giovanni on the double-standards against the Palestinian people: "If a missile hits a hospital in Ukraine, Europe calls it a war crime. But if missiles hit a hospital in Gaza and 100 people die, it's Israel's 'right to defend itself.'"

My future or my family. Read to the end

This is the choice many of us in Gaza feel forced to make.

Either you pursue your future and leave your family behind, or you stay with your family and watch your own future slip away.

I've always wanted to build the life I dreamed of. I wanted to study, grow, and create a future I could be proud of. But every time I try to focus on myself, I step back. I feel guilty. I ask myself: if I focus on my own life, who will stand beside my mother and my siblings?

I know I'm at an age when I should be building my own life, yet instead I feel trapped between responsibility and the future I once imagined. I often wonder if, had we been somewhere else, I would never have had to ask myself these questions.

What I'm trying to say is that I'm not satisfied with the life I'm living. I know writing this won't change anything, but I needed to say what I've been carrying inside.

We are still living under the constant threat of death. At any moment, everything can end.

Before that day comes, I only hope my mother will have a reason to be proud of me. That's all I want.

How to verify accounts asking for donations in Gaza?

Firstly, I hope this is in the rules of the subreddit, and I apologise if it's not, but I think this is an important question which touches a lot of people here. I see and receive requests for money on various subreddits and other social media platforms at least once a day. I sincerely want to help and I appreciate that there are lots of constraints around things like safety and access to bank accounts, but every time I politely message one of these accounts to ask for more information, I get ghosted. How can people in Gaza safely verify their location/circumstances?

Nearly all the Gofundme accounts that are linked to these requests have different names and are based are based in the United States or Africa. I'm worried that a lot of bad faith people out there are taking advantage of the suffering in Gaza, so would really appreciate any hearing any tips or stories of your experiences. Thank you!

Hi! I need volunteers to help me teach Gazan children through ZOOM. You don't need a university degree, but you have to be in high school or graduated from high school, as well as good in arabic to be able to communicate with the kids. No salary since this is for charity, and we need science, maths and arabic teachers volunteers, as well as people who can make work sheets and powerpoint slides. Anyone who wishes to volunteer may message me privately :)

Gaza Groom Forced to Flee His Own Wedding

He had been waiting for this night for months. He booked the wedding hall, paid everything he could despite the harsh financial circumstances, and dreamed of beginning his married life with a joyful celebration surrounded by his family and friends. Everyone arrived at Sultan Palace Wedding Hall, and the celebration began. Traditional songs filled the air, joyful cheers echoed throughout the venue, and smiles lit up the faces of both the bride's and groom's families, as if they were trying to reclaim a moment of happiness from the midst of overwhelming pain. But the joy did not last long. Suddenly, one of the neighbors near the venue received a phone call from an Israeli intelligence officer, ordering the immediate evacuation of the wedding hall, claiming that a nearby house in Al-Maghazi refugee camp was about to be targeted in an airstrike. Within moments, the atmosphere of celebration turned into fear and confusion. Guests were urgently informed to leave the venue, and everyone rushed outside in a state of panic, unsure of what would happen in the next few minutes. The bride and groom stood there in shock, watching the dream they had waited so long for disappear before their eyes. It is one of many heartbreaking stories that reflects the reality of life in Gaza, where war no longer steals only homes and lives—it now pursues even moments of joy, depriving people of the simple human right to celebrate life's happiest occasions.

Any one with experience applying to UK universities? I really need your help

Hi everyone. I’m looking for someone with experience applying to UK universities who could give me some advice. I’m currently trying to get an offer from the University of Bristol through Clearing because I need an offer to be eligible for the Bristol Gaza Scholarship. I’m feeling a bit lost with the process and would really appreciate any guidance from someone who has experience with UK university applications, even if it wasn’t Bristol. If you think you can help, please leave a comment or send me a message. It would mean a lot. Thank you!

15 Years Married in Gaza. Need help for IVF Treatment.

Hello, I’m Ahmad from Gaza. This is my wife Narges.

We’ve been married for 15 years.

For 15 years we’ve been waiting to become parents.

Doctors said IVF is our only chance.

Cost: $90,000.

After the war we lost everything. We can’t afford this alone.

This is our story: https://i.imgur.com/66IVJVm.jpeg

All donations will go through a trusted volunteer and paid directly to the doctor.

Our GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/943eefa24

If you can’t donate, please share. One share can change our lives.

Facebook and Instagram blocked our accounts. Reddit is our last hope.

Thank you for reading us from Gaza.

: A Mother from Gaza Trying to Stay Hopeful

Hello everyone,

I'm a mother from Gaza trying to keep my family going through incredibly difficult circumstances.

Every day is a struggle to find enough food, provide basic necessities, and keep hope alive for my children. I'm doing everything I can, but some days it feels overwhelming.

I'm not writing this to seek pity. I just wanted to share our reality and connect with people who understand what families in Gaza are going through.

If you have any advice, resources, or words of encouragement, I would truly appreciate them. Thank you for reading and for keeping the people of Gaza in your thoughts.
