OneUI 6 + Android 14 Update Megathread

It looks like the OneUI 6 + Android 14 update is starting to roll out to some users. Keep discussion related to receiving the update to this thread to avoid spamming the subreddit. Discussion regarding new features can be posted normally, just try to make sure you're not posting something that's already been posted.

Quick note regarding updates:

You get your updates based on the region your phone is configured to, not the region you're currently located. For most people, this will be the country they bought the phone in, or the carrier they bought it through if you're in the US. When discussing an update rolling out for your phone, make sure you note what region and carrier you bought it from to avoid any confusion.

Warning for GoodLock users:

Some GoodLock modules may not have been updated to support OneUI 6 yet. If you can't live without a module, make sure it's been updated before updating your phone.

If you want to add a region to the list, comment on this post with the region you want to add, then reply to your own comment with “u/dahliamma” (just the text, the hyperlink is created automatically). I will not get a notification if you tag me in a top-level reply directly to this post, I only get notifications when tagged in a reply to a comment.

Make sure your comment includes the region your phone is configured to (see note above). If you know your CSC, please note that in your comment as well.

What would your next phone be?

What everyone is thinking of upgrading their s23 to? Or the ones already upgraded which phone did you go for?

I love my s23 but it is started to show it's age. I thought of upgrading to s25 but it is basically the same device really.

What other good alternatives out there that are not Samsung but just as good?

Anyone who made the switch from S23 Plus to other brands?

Purchased this phone on the launch date, my first ever flagship device (S23 Plus 512GB)

But now I'm just fed up, it's been 3 years and it has already gone down pretty bad.

I will admit my usage has been heavy throughout, gaming, editing, but you pay so much so that you enjoy using it as you want, for atleast 4-5 years.

My last phone OnePlus 6t lasted so long, and even at the end it is smooth and feels so premium and snappy (my relative is still using it)

And recently the green line appeared out of nowhere, the whole experience on this phone doesn't feel premium at all now and I think this has been deliberately done by Samsung to force users to switch. My camera has degraded alot after the recent major update, the battery barley survives half a day. It has gotten boring tbh.

I have looked over options in the market right now, and was leaning towards the Find X9 Ultra to actually feel the money spent and my plan is to have the device with me for atleast 4-5 years.

I checked the stores, I really loved the Vivo's camera interface, but Oppo's UI experience was really good and better than Vivo (x300 ultra)

But lately I have gotten really mixed reviews regarding these two beasts. Inconsistency issues, fogging issues, heat management. Samsung's devices aren't really worth upgrading to and I don't plan to switch to iOS anytime in the future. OnePlus is going away. What to buy? Or should I wait. Really need some help here.

CPU Reballing on S23

Hello guys,

My S23 256GB variant recently died on me while I was scrolling through Amazon app. CPU reballing was done on it due to which it is alive now...working normally...no overheating or performance issues observed. The technician gave me 1month of warranty for the repair and advised to to take back of the data and exchange it for a new one since there is no guarantee for this phone anymore. It can die anytime.

My question is If anyone else have already done this...how long did it last for you and would you suggest keeping the phone or exchanging it.

Samsung GalaxyS23 all apps are stuck in "pending..." when trying to update them

As the title says, apps do not update anymore. Because of it I'm blocked outside of a bank account unless I update their 2 factor authenticator. I've tried to update just the required app, a few at once or all of them at once. In each scenario apps remain stuck in "pending..." like this:

S23 battery attachment

Hi all, my Samsung Galaxy s23 5G battery is getting worst day by day and I am so frustrated with this, it is very very good phone I love it I don't wants to change it, is there anything attachable for this particular phone available which can increase its battery, because previously I have seen somewhere for iPhone where big back cover like attachment was there which includes battery in it and eventually increased battery size.

update not possible with ui 8.5

i debloated my phone with canta and shizuku.

but since they changed how the phone is updating, put a completely useless screen to it with fancy colors and stuff, putting things in between easy going just makes things so much more harder for really no reason at all.

as soon as i open the update menu it says connecting to service.... error connection not possible.

even i tried to put stuff back what could be related to that issue, it doesn't work.

is there another way to update a phone or do we have to swallow as anything else they give us?

Samsung s23 ultra's front camera for full body pics

Is it accurate to how someone is looking like? I look really different in front camera's vids/pics compared to how I look in mirrors

My body looks wider and really different, some places is less curvy for example

Even my face looks weird in full body pics /:

Is this normal? I can't decide if this is actually how I look like or my front camera isn't the best for full body pics or I'm just bad at filming myself?

S23+ 8-256 or S25 8-128?

The price difference isn't much (for some reason cheaper than the S24). Which one do you think is worth it? I'm looking for performance and fewer problems. Honestly, I'm worried about overheating and battery life. Any advice?

S23 crashing and delaying

It has been a while since my s23 (of 2 years) has been crashing a lot, in addition recently he started delaying videos on any social network (Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.).

I have already restarted, cleared the cache and nothing works, any tips on how you can improve or the best option is to buy another one?

Battery S23

I am experiencing significant battery degradation, requiring me to charge my phone three-four times daily after the last update. Are other users encountering similar issues, or is this indicative of a problem with my specific device's battery?

Use Device Mic with Wired/USB Connected?

I'm in an older car which has an aux port, no USB or Bluetooth. I'm using a USB to 3.5mm adapter which does great for getting the music to the car, but I have to disconnect it anytime I want to use voice to text or answer a phone call.

Is there any way to activate the device mic when USB is active?

I have GoodLock installed for some other stuff, I haven't had a chance to dive into that and see if that had an option

I think my phone died died...anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

So last night my phone turned off, at first I thought it was random because I thought it had battery still but later assumed it was dead because it wouldn't turn on.

Put it on charge and was met with the lightning bolt in the white circle in the centre of the screen, thought okay phones dead I'll leave it a while...2 hours later, still the same. This morning I tried again and I tried to do a restart by holding power and vol down, screen went black and the same thing appeared.

I then plugged it into my laptop to get into recovery mode using power and vol up, got a bright blue screen and only option it had was hold vol down and power for 7 seconds...I did that, screen went black and then still nothing. After doing this I tried to put it on charge again, but now I get nothing on the display at all and it keeps doing these little vibrates every few seconds and they dont stop...

Sorry for the long ness of the post but what the hell is going on? I've searched everywhere and cannot find a solution. Do I need a new battery or something?
