A New Campaign... AKA Suck It, Cancellation Bear? (Testing the pulse for a #MoreGalavant movement!)
Hey everyone,
I’ve been doing some thinking while listening to the soundtrack on loop. It’s been a minute since our favorite "one-of-a-kind, standard-format, four-week comedy television extravaganza" left the airwaves. But with creator Dan Fogelman continuing to crush it in Hollywood, and streaming platforms always looking for beloved cult IPs, I have a sudden urge to do the D'DEW and see if we can conjure up some magic.
Before we go charging into battle like Giants and Dwarves, I wanted to get a pulse check. If I were to put together a concrete, actionable plan to lobby Disney+/Hulu for a revival or a wrap-up movie, who here would actually be down to participate?
If the community has the energy, I’d love to float a structured blueprint in a few days. Here are some of the actionable ideas I'm cooking up:
- The "Suck It, Cancellation Bear" Streaming Surge: Coordinating a massive community rewatch weekend to trick the streaming algorithms into bumping Galavant into the "Trending" tabs. We’ll stream it while we sleep, eat, and fit into our old hero pants.
- The Tad Cooper Social Blitz: A hyper-focused, single-day social media push tagging Disney, Hulu, the actors and Dan Fogelman. No screaming into the void daily—just one massive, unified dragon roar. I totally believe in us.
- The Mail Campaign: Digital emails get ignored. Sending physical items to network executive offices doesn't. We could pick one iconic, dirt-cheap prop from the show to mail to the head of programming. (Though maybe not real bearded dragons—even if they can breathe fire).
Right now, I just want to know: Are we still a passionate army, or are we just a bunch of land-bound pirates or monks singing doo-wop with Weird Al?
Drop a comment below if you’d be willing to share a post, stream the show, or help organize. Let me know if you’re in, and tell me what iconic show item we should mail them if we actually do this!
