I was a student when UF tried to destroy McCarty woods a few years back. I’m a current UF employee and if you are a student and not aware - I implore you to look into and form an opinion on what is going on with Graham. This stretch of woods is 7.5 acres containing ~900 native trees including heritage oak trees. My class successfully protested the development of McCarty woods and reached a compromise with the university that preserved them. Speaking out WORKS. If there is any kind of GroupMe or group organizing protests, please let me know. If there’s not and you want to make a difference, please comment anyways. This cannot be allowed to happen.

The democratic candidate Troy Albers (US House) wants to build a wildlife crossing at Paynes Prairie. Does anyone have more information on this project idea or any of his other project ideas? I just want to make sure he's trying to save wildlife from being struck by cars and not pave over the prairie or something crazy! Thanks
