New student. Can't login to anything and Tech support wont help.

Hi, I'm a new student, it has been nothing but problems trying to go back to college.

Right now I can't sign in to my charger portal to do anything. I can get to the student portal through an email link, but can't sign into it from the website. When I try to sign up for orientation or view financial aid stuff I get the ellucian website that wants me to use a pin that I haven't set up yet and there's no option to do "forget password", or set one up, or I get a website that stays on the white loading page no matter what I do.

I've called Tech support THREE TIMES!!! The first time the lady hung up on me!!!! The second time the guy said someone would call me back, and I never got a call back. The third time the same thing happened, but with email.

Genuinely, what do I do at this point??

ASN Second Year Schedule

Hello! I'm interested in doing the nursing program, but highly suspicious that I won't be able to afford it with my current cost of living. Can anyone tell me what the schedule was like when you did your second year? I would like to know if I could keep my jobs on weekday nights and Sunday mornings, as that would help me pay for it. Is it possible to split the second year up so I did it over two academic years instead?

Nursing Waitlist

With decisions being sent out, I’m curious to know the stats of those who applied & got in. As well as those waitlisted. Feeling slightly discouraged because i’m in the higher end of the list but I am remaining hopeful. Anyone know the likelihood of getting off the waitlist and getting a callback?!

Anything helps. Thank you all.

Has anyone taken the Georgia History Exam through GHC? I’m trying to figure out how proctored it’s going to be. Would I be able to use notes, or are they going to use something like Respondus Lockdown where they film you?

Refunds?

Does anyone know when the federal loan payments typically hit for Spring semester? I know my Fall ones hit after my first Pell refund and before the second Pell refund that takes place after midterms. Is it similar for Spring semester, and if so, can anyone remember roughly how much longer it takes to receive the loans after the initial refunds are sent out? Thanks!

I use to go to this college but I transferred out. I forgot if this college offers physics II in the summer? It would be especially nice if it was online! I want to try to be a transient student in the summer of 2026, but we will see !

Thank you 🙏

Honest Review of Professor Furnish – Please Read Before Taking His Class

I took an 8-week course with Dr. Timothy Furnish for HIST 1111, and I really wish I’d known what I was getting into. Here is an honest review for everyone else that needs to know how his class really is.

We had an essay due every single week except for spring break. He’s a very harsh grader and nitpicks everything, even small things that most professors wouldn’t care about. He claims a rubric will be provided, but what he gives is just a set of vague instructions with no actual breakdown of how you're graded, which makes it impossible to know how to meet his expectations.

He insists on papers being in MLA format, but never actually says this anywhere in the instructions. He’ll just take off points if you don’t use MLA. He also has his own personal way of citing things, and if you use standard MLA or APA formatting, he’ll still count off. When students point out that something isn’t standard, he responds with, “That may be how your other professors do things, but it isn’t how I do it.”

You’re not allowed to use any sources other than the ones he provides, even if you use credible, academic ones. He’ll deduct points if you include outside sources. Strangely, if you include a Works Cited page (even in MLA), he’ll take off points for that too.

Papers must be at least 700 words- but if they’re under 1000, he’ll say “Could have been longer” and usually take off a few points. His feedback is inconsistent, rude, and unhelpful. He capitalizes most of his words in reviews (ex. LIKE THIS), which make its feel like he's virtually screaming at you. On one of my better papers, he said: “Very good job! Only quibble: you missed the video point about 20th c. Indian politicians resurrecting/exploiting Ashoka as a symbol of Indian nationalism.” Then deducted 5 points for that.

He answers emails fairly quickly and provides his personal phone number, but that doesn’t help much. However, when I called him (per his emailed request as he had given me someone else’s grade based on their word count), he said he was too busy and told me to call back later. Not professional.

Discussion posts are technically optional, but they’re the only way I passed. He offers extra credit for them, and they’re usually based on opinion questions. They're easy to complete, but if your opinion differs from his, he will let you know in his comments (though thankfully, he doesn’t take off points for that).

Bottom line: Avoid this class if you can. It’s way too stressful for too little reward. I’m posting this here because RateMyProfessors doesn’t give enough space to explain how frustrating this course was. I did the work, I passed the class, but I don’t think anyone else should have to go through what I did.

Anyone have the password for the final in the class? Teacher says she doesn't have access to it and IT says they can't give me it. Anyone know it or remember how they got it?

Physical Science-Spring Semester 2025

Is anyone else taking this course online with Mr Stafford? I’m getting irritated with the Lab 1B- Kinematic Graphing assignment because I’ve downloaded the required document however, it’s missing the necessary information required to “make adjustments” to the graphs. I tried to email Mr. Stafford but he has not gotten back to me.

Financial Aid/Class

Why is it delayed? What should I do? I need financial aid to get access to my class on Revel. I tried talking to the bookstore but it is useless. Someone help, I don’t want to withdraw this class. The store is asking me to cover it instead of my financial aid.

Hi guys, I'm taking Chem 1212K this summer and was wondering if anyone else here was taking it as well? Or if you've taken it before with Moody, how was it?

Any interest in organizing a bookswap?

So since the bookstore is a giant rip off, would anyone be interested in setting up a bookswap? For those who don't know, a bookswap is where you post what books you won't need anymore, and people can offer to swap there books for books they might need. Seem simple? it is!
