MegaMart is currently having sales on its meat, seafood, and produce. The meat/seafood deals aren’t too bad, just double check any produce you may purchase.

It’s terrible that they have to cancel the football team, and it wasn’t even a bad team. What are your thoughts on this?

Hi everyone! I’m a 31-year-old guy looking for a roommate to find a place together or join an existing household in the Fremont/Newark area.
A little about me:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a master’s degree.
- Quiet, clean, respectful, and easy to live with.
- Active and enjoy going to the gym.
- I value a relaxed, low-drama, and clean home.
I’m looking to move in September and am hoping to sign a 12-month lease. My budget is $1,000–1,500/month for my share of rent.
Ideally, I’d like to live with another responsible, respectful guy who’s financially stable. It’d be nice to have someone who’s down to hang out every now and then but who’s also comfortable doing their own thing. I’m non-smoking and looking for someone who’s a good communicator and easy to live with.
If this sounds like a good fit, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself!

Best gym in the Fremont Glenmoor area?
Looking for group training classes, as I have little to no experience working out independently with gym equipments. Also open to trying Pilates or other workout programs.

Crime reporter Nate Gartrell follows the conclusion of this 2023 case, in which a recent Sonoma State grad died in a crash on Interstate 680 in Fremont.

I've been struggling to find a part time job in Fremont for the past year. No matter where I apply I don't get the courtesy of a response either. Are there any entry level part time positions currently available where one can sign up.
Edit: I'm open for positions in Newark and Union city, anything in a twenty minute radius. Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I'm Maria Rose Francis, a PhD candidate in Urban Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, currently doing dissertation fieldwork in the Bay Area.
My research looks at South Asian everyday life in Silicon Valley and the wider Bay Area — the places people return to, the routes they travel, the groceries, temples, festivals, restaurants, and gatherings that make this region feel like home.
If you live in, work in, or regularly visit Bay Area and identify as South Asian, I'd love to hear from you.
The survey takes about 5–15 minutes and is completely voluntary. This study is IRB-approved by UW-Milwaukee.

At the end there's an optional section if you're interested in future interviews or community sessions.
Thank you so much 🙏
Feel free to ask me anything in the comments.

Look at a map of Newark and it's a little strange: one city, Fremont, wraps around it on every side. Turns out that's not an accident, it's the result of a choice Newark made for itself back in 1955. In 1953, five neighboring communities (Centerville, Niles, Irvington, Mission San Jose, and Warm Springs) started planning a merger into one new city. Newark was invited too, but the plan called for industrial zoning on Newark's piece - factories and rail yards instead of the neighborhoods people were already living in. Newark's farming residents said no. In September 1955, Newark incorporated on its own, the first new city chartered in Alameda County in 47 years. Four months later, the other five townships voted themselves into what we now call Fremont. That 1955 decision still shows up in daily life today: two homes 500 feet apart can end up in different school districts and different tax structures, split by a line drawn in a hearing room 70 years ago. Wrote up the fuller story with sourcing here: https://adam-modzeleski.weichertrainbow.com/blog/61/Newark+Is+Surrounded+By+One+City+On+Purpose+%E2%80%94+The+1955+Choice+That+Still+Shapes+Home+Buying+Here (Disclosure: I'm a local real estate broker, this is a hobby history project.)

This one is just as big as Haraz and Qamaria. It is behind Chipotle on Newark Blvd. Fancy buildout with expensive coffee.

The post yesterday stirred up a lot of discussion and I think we can all agree there are many people in Fremont who don't follow basic hygiene practices. I'm going to give folks the benefit of the doubt and assume they are just ignorant and not inconsiderate so I thought it would be helpful to have a more general thread about the bare minimum everyone should be doing to maintain good hygiene.
Shower daily
Wear deodorant
Change clothes daily
I think just starting with this will go a long way. Please add any other essential habits which y'all feel should be included for those new to good hygiene.

I also have footage of them scouting apartment balconies the loser with the coat goes around flashing his light in balconies and cars while his daddy walks behind him trying to act innocent

I've been to gyms all across the bay and none stink as much as Fremont so please help your fellow residents by following a few simple rules:
Shower daily
Wear deodorant
Put your gym clothes in the laundry hamper after the gym. It's insane how many people wear the same clothes for multiple gym sessions without washing them.
Ask someone for a smell check. I've noticed some people become nose blind and don't realize when they stink.
Use perfume/cologne sparingly and not as a substitute for 1 and 2.

Hi everyone! I'm a Fremont local researching whether our community would benefit from a private self-service dog wash designed especially for owners of medium and large dogs.
I'm trying to understand:
If you have 1 minute, I'd really appreciate your feedback. Your responses will help determine whether this is something worth building.
If you're interested in a future private self-service dog wash in Fremont, you can also leave your email at the end of the survey to receive updates.
Thank you for helping with this local research!
