...to be precise, the JinHao has the much more controlled, while still strong, ink flow and handles bad paper by far better than the Meisterstück, which gets from F to BB on cheap paper. Regardless the ink used. Also Skipping and hard starts are a thing on the Meisterstück.

How can any pen be so pretty? It is a Hongdian N8 Red and it just looks and feels so good. It has the long knife nib and I normally use a fine for note taking, but I just can't stop using it.

I find myself just staring at it and marvel at how the light reflects off its body.

I did have a "My PRECIOUS" moment today when one of the managers who came back from "lunch" walked past my desk picked it up and tried to pull the cap off!!!

Love any shade of green. Not all of my fountain pens are green but, I wish they were lol.

After the most beneficial help from you handsome buggers, and after selling off a few unloved pens, bought myself a TWSBI Diamond 580 AL R, in Prussian Blue- medium nib. Popped some Octopus Fluids Unicorn in it and off we go. Just had a little test drive, but first impressions are highly positive. It’s dream.

The official Kaweco Marble Ocean reveal! I'm excited about this one and will definitely be grabbing it.

Plus two new surprise lunar sports. I didn't realize they were doing more of these but these are the blue versions. The lighter versions look practically white and I'm wondering how different they really are compared to the Iridescent Pearl or Coconut color ways. I'm going to pass on the lunar sports personally.

It's a real trip writing with a nib that has no top slit! Mine came tuned nicely, which was a relief, because while the design eliminates tine misalignment, it does constrain home-tuning options a bit. At the moment, Eureka only sells direct through his webstore, and the nib and feed are only compatible with the eyedropper pen that it ships with. Pretty neat!

Hi! I'm new to the community and to Reddit.

I wanted to share my Kakuno with a CON-N converter. It’s not my first fountain pen, but it really feels like it. I had a Jinhao, a Zebra, and a different Kakuno a few years ago, but I didn't use them much after the initial dopamine hit of having a new trineket .

Recently, I went through a really tough period where I desperately needed to write what was on my mind, but it was hard to just sit down and write it. I remembered how good it felt to write with that old Kakuno, but its nib was so broad that I didn't like it at all how my handwriting looked. After reading countless reviews and opinions online, I came right back to where I knew I was happy: the simple, affordable Kakuno—this time with a Fine (F) nib. I added the CON-70N converter mainly for aesthetics and to give the pen a little extra weight.

I’ve cried so much while writing with this pen over the last two weeks, and it has been wonderful.

I wanted to thank the fountain pen community on both Reddit and YouTube for introducing me to the Kakuno. I'd love to ask: what have been your happiest or most significant moments using a fountain pen?"

For me it was the moment in which I finally could be honest with myself and realize I can change.

I found this wood case at a local thrift store for $10 Canadian and knew what I could use it for.

Had to post about the arrival of a grail pen on Monday. I have never owned a Pelikan and was on the fence about this, but I truly could not be happier with this. It is absolute perfection. Writing with it is a dream. Looking at it is dreamy.

I got the EF from Pacific Pen Works with standard smoothing and tuning. I am sure that enhanced the experience. The nib glides with zero pressure and puts down a line about as fine as my F Carène.

A few saturdays ago I had the chance to attend Sailor’s complimentary Pen Clinic at PenGallery, PJ Malaysia. We get to bring 2 sailor pens to be looked at by Sailor’s pen master, Mr Katsumi Nakashiki. The options available were nib checking, adjustment, inflow restoration and even just cleaning(no grinding). I brought two sailors - a PGS with MF nib and a mini PGS with F nib. I asked Mr Nakashiki to make them a tad wider/make the flow a little better because they were just stubborn buggers. He did an amazing job - if I have the money I would just fly to Hiroshima with all my sailor pens to get his touch! My sailor pens were absolutely dreamy after the treatment. Just as Sailors should be, I think. When people talk about how good pens should be - that’s what I have now.
It was also such a pleasure to chat with the Sailor representative, I didn’t get his name but he was very friendly and acted as translator for Mr Nakashiki - both of them were just lovely to talk to.
Mr Lai of PenGallery was just so kind to make it a free session.

Also the second my session started I fell to the floor because the chair rolled off under me - thank goodness no pens or mobile phones were hurt - just my butt and my pride haha. So I could say I literally fell for Sailor pens. Lol.

I am torn between the Sailor Realo Pro Gear <b> and Pelikan m800 <f or m> for my next pen purchase. I love that they are both piston fillers, flat-top, classic looking pens from renowned companies. I am leaning towards the Sailor because I already have a Pilot Custom 845 in Broad and MB 149 in Medium that are quite smooth writers (I love them both) so I figure the Realo will provide more of a different writing experience.

Please let me know your pick and why!

Grabbed it off the street yesterday!

I try not to be consumeristic, but the pens are getting me, so I’m glad that this little thing is a reuse/rescue.

Top to bottom: TWSBI Eco-T, Lamy Safari, Lamy Al-Star, Kakuno, Majohn Mini 2, Kaweco, Kaweco, Majohn Maru (I guess it’s a tiny bit different from the Mini 2?)

Hey! I want to share the state of my small collection.
As you can see I like my pens black! They're all inked and in constand use

1. Parker Dufold New Style, around 1948, made in Denmark, EF nib. Extremely comfortable, great nib.
2. Omas 361, from the 1950s. Small but very elegant pen.
3. Lamy 2K, EF nib. I love its looks but the writing experience, while good, isn't stellar for me.
4. An early Aurora 88, sterling silver cap, serial number indicates 1947 or 1948. The latest addition, has a new piston. Minor brassing on the section ring, but given its age it's beautiful. A majestic pen, the most comfortable I have. It's a crazy-wet writer.

Turning 30 next week, thought this was a nice gift to myself!

This is kinda an epilogue of the story about this Faber Castell vintage piston filler.

From being forgotten and neglected most likely for decades, this pen was brought into the attention of a vintage pen restorer who had no expectations other than hoping to be able to restore it.

This pen was disassembled down to the parts through a few guessing and knowing when to stop (TM) without accidents. With the literally crumbling old cork replaced with o-rings (I could have gone the synthetic cork route, but not this time), the parts are cleaned, and re-assembled. Cleaning the old, hardened ink from the grooves on the feed is so satisfying (the ink was totally blocked).

Now the pen writes every single time the cap came off, no hesitations, just beautiful expressive lines coming out of the unassuming steel nib bearing the Osmia logo. I guess Faber-Castell were right to buy a company who knew how to produce good reliable pens.

The sketch is of a rocking chair accompanied by a few potted friends. Ink is Golden Sepia, same ink as the last post.

The most fun I’ve gotten out of 6 bucks. JH 159.

On a budget so i went with the Pilot 78G+ and its a blast
