Sub Updates – Call for Feedback

Hey Rams,

I wanted to get some feedback regarding two rules I'm considering adding in response to new trends in the content on this sub.

1. No posts speculating about financial aid situations.

There has been a huge increase in posts in recent years regarding financial aid. I understand that it's a massive part of the college decision-making process, but the vast majority of these posts get little to no engagement. This is because the financial aid process is opaque – aid package sizes differ from year to year, institution to institution, and person to person. Similarly, what one person considers to be "good" aid might not be enough to another person. We can also safely expect that no one from the Fordham financial aid office is lurking on this sub and handing out the guidelines for merit aid.

It's very difficult for anyone to give another person financial advice without knowing a lot of personal details like how much their parents make and are willing to contribute, which is information that should generally not be shared publicly.

Because the financial aid situation varies so wildly, I'd like to implement a ban specifically on posts asking for speculation about an individual's financial aid package size, whether it's good/bad, or how much to expect in appeal. For example, this ban would cover posts like "Is $35k good?" and "Is Fordham generous with aid?"

This ban would not cover posts comparing a package at one institution vs another (like "$10k at Fordham vs $5k at Fairfield?") or posts asking about when to expect aid packages/appeal, when the first payment is due, or other logistical questions. Those are easier for people to answer and get more responses anyway.

2. A ban on AI-generated content farming.

This issue just arose in the last day or two. Shoutout to u/ArchAuthor for bringing this to my attention. There were two posts on back-to-back days by separate accounts asking questions about the student experience at Fordham in an overly wordy, AI-generated content way. Looking into the accounts, I noticed that they each only had two comments on posts and the comments were identical – "I agree" and "interesing" on 8+ year-old accounts. These accounts are clearly farming information for some type of aggregate service.

I'm going to leave this post up for a few days before implementing any rules changes. Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Use this for general questions, celebrating, introducing yourself, venting, anything relating to admissions now that decisions are coming out

Any admission tips?

Hi I’m a rising hs senior and I toured Fordham recently and absolutely loved it. I’m definitely planning on applying ED to Lincoln center. I think my stats are good enough and my college counselor put Fordham in my realistic category on scoir, but for some reason I’m really worried about getting in, I think that I’m just scared of if I don’t get in. Does anyone have any advice/tips for applying?

Info on Queens court

Hi! I was assigned to Queen’s Court, specifically Robert’s Hall, and I was wondering if anyone has any info, pictures, or videos of it? I feel like there are little to no photos of the dorms or bathrooms online. Honestly, I’ll take any info about Robert’s Hall/QC😭 I’m especially curious about the communal bathrooms like what do they look like? How many showers are there? Are they usually clean? I just want to mentally prepare myself lol.

So yeah If anyone has pictures or experiences from living in Robert’s Hall (or Queen’s Court in general), I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!!

Any Late Fall 2026 transfers still waiting on decisions? (July 1 deadline/late June completion)

Hey everyone!

I’m checking to see if any other late Fall 2026 transfer applicants are still waiting on their decision?

My files got processed near the July 1 extended deadline. Has anyone with a similar completion timeline heard back recently, or know when the next batch usually drops during summer hours?

Thanks in advance!

Random roommate hasn’t responded… should I be worried?

Hiii I am I freshman and I got my random roommate assignment about 11 days ago and reached out to her over email. The only information I got about her was first and last name as well as school email. I also can’t find any social media pages under her name anywhere (seriously have almost no info about my roommate 😭). I’m not really that worried because I understand that there are a lot of reason for her not responding (not frequently checking school email, busy/vacation, restrictive parents, etc.). Butttt I’ve gotten a lot of mixed opinions from family and friends which make me second guess myself. Some think I should be really worried and reach out the school and ask for more info and others say it’ll be fine and not to worry or wait to get worried until about a week or two before moving in. I don’t know what to do because I’m not trying to worry myself over nothing or harass the girl lol but id really love to talk and get to know her before moving in!!

I was wondering what students think I should do and how people who maybe had a similar issue dealt with this situation. Thanks!!

Clubs competitiveness

Hello everyone! I’m an incoming freshman at RH and I’m interested in joining some financial / cs related clubs (Computer Science Society, Smart Women Securities, Finance society etc…) and was wondering how competitive the admissions for these kind of clubs were especially concerning non Gabelli students (when talking about the finance clubs). I would love to know about the recruiting process and how many people get in each year :). All info would be highly appreciated !

Interview Prep / Finance Recruitment Extension

Hi all! Currently working on a market/news comprehension extension and think it would be a huge help to Rams prepping for interviews (especially in Gabelli). It works by highlighting text and explaining it in reference to the rest of the article, while also drawing upon implications and connected reports.

Some examples are attached above

Think it would be a great help to students undergoing finance recruitment, or looking to comprehend the news better.

Here is a link to the extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/Preface/bfhcgfomafahhbemkaenmipoobphombj

Have a great day!

Hello, I'm sending a couple of boxes to my LC address. What it'd be my apt#? How many digits should be? The floor i.e 16, then unit i.e 14 and there is a 1 or 2 after that in my assigned room info. Would my apt# 16141? Is the 1 or 2 number needed? Do I need dashes in between? Thanks!

Spacious 1 bed in Hell's Kitchen area $4,500 LOOKING FOR LEASE TAKEOVER

Here's the ad on Leasebreak for photos/info - https://www.leasebreak.com/short-term-rental-details/399589/601-west-57th-street?ak=866feedb39b569dbe52d298ed4005c28

Hey! I live in Hell's Kitchen and need to find someone to take over my lease because I need to be with family after a family emergency. It's a great 1 bed apartment in a luxery elevator/dooman building. SO CLOSE TO FORDHAM! Not even kidding, like an 8-minute walk. Great price for the area too! The bedroom is down a long hallway, so if you have a roommate, you can't hear each other if one stays in the living room. About 12 months left on the lease. The building is super clean, quiet, and around a bunch of the big NYC colleges and shopping centers, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone. RIght? (please put my mind at ease lol)

Thanks!

PRICE: $4,500 - I'll be happy to answer any questions in comments or via DMs. Thank you!

[Urgent] Looking for a roommate at The Arabella (2BDR) - August 2026 Move-In!

Hey everyone,

My friend is looking for a roommate to take over a spot in a luxury 2-bedroom apartment at The Arabella (448 E 189th St) right by the Rose Hill campus. Move-in is in about two weeks (August).

About the Place:

  • Location: Right in Belmont, super close walk to the Fordham gates.
  • Amenities: Modern building, awesome rooftop setup, fitness center, and a resident lounge for studying and hanging out.
  • Rent: 1590-1800 / month per person. (We can discuss subleasing and negotiate the price)

About the Roommate:
He has already signed the lease and is ready to go. He’s super chill, responsible, and looking for another student or young professional to share the space with.

Since move-in is right around the corner, we are trying to find someone ASAP so you can get approved by management and added to the lease.

If you or anyone you know is still looking for last-minute housing for the upcoming semester, please leave a comment or DM me with a bit about yourself!

Thanks!
