I’ve been thinking about the lyric “I’m not giving up, I’m just giving in,” from never let me go. I wasn’t sure what the difference was, but in my current deep depression, I wonder if it might mean giving in to the feelings, not fighting them or trying to fix myself. Not giving up on the idea of someday feeling better but not pushing back so hard against the heavy, heavy weight of the sadness.

Wonder if that resonates with anyone or if anyone has their own interpretation?

(I’ve also wondered about “to be saved” vs “to be spared” in the chorus of morning elvis.)

I am looking to get my first tattoo and I really want it to be Florence and The Machine themed- I have zero conceptual skills but am an artist, so not looking for drawn ideas just concepts!

I’m really open to anything just something with a lot of meaning in regards to her music. Can be big or small- little or complicated!

So I have a long history with Florence- I was first introduced to her age 6 when my dad let me borrow his copy of Between two Lungs on CD, we would listen to it and sing along dramatically on the long journeys back and forth from my mums house on weekends and he’d let me keep the CD until I saw him the next weekend.

We became estranged a few years ago whilst I was a long term inpatient at a mental health hospital. My mental health fully broke down that relationship but her music still allows me to remember the beautiful moments we had as father and daughter.

I was sectioned in that secure ward for 6 years and had very limited media from the outside world- but Florence was one of the artists I was allowed to listen to on the smart tv on the ward.

My favourite songs are:
Hunger (regarding my ED and mental health struggles)
My boy builds coffins (I don’t even know why I love this so much, possibly the narrative and storytelling)
Spectrum (helped me with my identity of being a lesbian growing up)
Shake it Out (helped with my recovery so much, a big one I’d just sing my heart out to when I was struggling)
Hurricane Drunk (How I saw my relapses)
Drumming Song (Just a beautiful song)
Dog days are over (This means the most to me, it was never one I really listened to and resonated with until recently when I left hospital 2 years ago after being told I would be incarcerated for life essentially)

My brain is terrible with concepts but hoping some of you amazing creatives will be able to give a helping hand and help get a beautiful piece of artwork on my body!

Pardon me if I missed it but did anyone else notice the mention of Florence in The Vampire Lestat where they are mentioning that she wanted Lestat to open for her?

Is anyone going to see her on sziget? If yes, do you know what it's there like? I want to be at the barricade, willing to queue for a good while...does anyone have experience with the main stage?

I ended up getting barricade for Ejekt Festival, and during Sympathy Magic has the absolute privilege for Florence to grab my hand twice, and sing to me for part of her audience walk.
Does anyone have any video of her doing the Sympathy Magic walk?! I was obviously not using my phone and enjoying it, but would love to relive the memory!!!!

So I relistened to Dance Fever today (for at least the thirtieth time) and I realized. . .Cassandra is amazing. Easily one of the best songs on the album. It had always felt like just another Florence song to me with every listen but now. . .it's music video worthy. Quite honestly, the whole album is worthy of music videos.

Hi! Been a Florence + the Machine fan since 2009, saw them at the Ascend in Nashville years ago and it was magical!!

I'm a writer, and my first published book came out this year, inspired by their song Blinding. I listened to it sooooo many times in the car when brainstorming, and it directly inspired some of the plot points.

I had hoped to send a copy to Florence (I thank the band in the acknowledgement!) but I see the fan PO box only accepts letters. Is that still the only way to send things? Would reaching out to her agency or management be a big no-no?

PS: the book is Awakened: A Curse of Rose and Snow, a YA fantasy retelling about sleeping beauty 😁

I just wanted to share this year because I know you all can relate. No one on my social media really has interacted with it just because they probably don’t get it. I feel like it will be more well received here haha

I got a cosmic love inspired tattoo last night and I wrote a little about it to try to make others understand it too. Here’s what I wrote and shared on Instagram:

Last night I got a very special tattoo inspired by “Cosmic Love” by Florence + The Machine. I know many people don’t understand my love for Florence and it is hard to explain in just a few words, but I’ll try.

This was the first ever song I heard by her when I was about 13 years old and I was immediately hooked. The pure feeling and raw emotion in her voice was incredible and I began to look up more songs by her. Lungs is such an incredible album and all of her songs are made with such care and detail.

Being lucky enough to see her live twice this year was beyond incredible. I don’t quite have the words for it. Hearing “Cosmic Love” live was such a transcendent experience and I knew I needed to commemorate it somehow.

Every time I look down at my arm I’ll get to think about the song that started it all for me. I’ll get to think of Florence when I see it and the little rabbit for her other song “Rabbit Heart” next to it. Florence is more than just music for me. She writes with such emotional intelligence and depth. She’s profound and music is truly her calling. Her voice is amazing and she’s a powerhouse vocally. I’ll forever be grateful I’ve gotten to experience and grow with her music. I’m a Florence fan for life.

I know most people don’t understand why I appreciate and love certain music, films, shows, or anything else so deeply but it’s because I find certain spectacle of myself in them and it makes me feel seen. It makes me feel less alone. It makes me feel understood in a world where I don’t always feel that. Isn’t that what all art is about after all? To make you feel something?

Hey everyone, so Never Let Me Go wasn’t on the setlist when she kicked off festival season at Hurricane festival. She added it spontaneously, I’ve seen people post the setlist, it really wasn’t on there. At first I thought she only did it at this show but she continued performing it at every other show. Do you think after adding it at Hurricane she was like „yeah let’s get it back on the setlist“?

Got a 1957 typewriter from my sister-in-law a few weeks ago and finally got around to servicing it last night. It was actually in pretty good condition, just gunky and some keys needed adjusting. I still need to adjust some further but I'm new to this and doing my research so I don't eff it up!

I've had a "coffee page book" (idk what else to call it?) laying around for a while that a friend got me as a witchy gift but I don't journal nor draw so it's just been collecting dust until now.

My first thought when I got it functional again was to test it out with some of my favorite lyrics! Yes, some are wrong. I had been indulging in alcohol. My bad, lol. Looks so cool with the typewriter font and stained paper. Think I'll try to do a little art project in my small bathroom with favorite lyrics & quotes typed out and glued on (now I have to go down the rabbit hole of wall papering but it'd be worth it.)

Anyway, just thought it'd be a fun share. I love how it looks!
