I’m (33M) a producer, singer, multi instrumentalist in the Somerset area who specializes in keys and synthesizer, but also does guitar, bass, drums etc. I am looking for some talented musicians who want to join a psychedelic rock band.

We are looking for three members. A soprano singer, bassist, and lead guitarist.

The music itself is synthy psychedelic rock with dream pop, stoner rock, and dark folk influences. There is a heavy social commentary aspect tied to the music and the overall work. It is humanistic in nature, a satirical critique of classical institutions like religion and politics.

We love bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Fleet Foxes, Radiohead, Black Sabbath, crumb, men I trust, mild high club, Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Khruangbin, Queens of the Stone Age, Wolfmother, and others.

We are looking for a singer with a higher range (more soprano than alto) and dynamic delivery. A delicate and intimate timbre (Ala men I trust) is something we’re after for much of the music, but some of it gets louder and harder so comfortability with a range of styles and deliveries is preferred. Songwriting experience is a plus. The ability to harmonize is preferred. (Vocals will be a shared effort, there is no “lead” vocalist per se, just whatever the song calls for!)

For the guitarist and bassist, we are looking for string players who have an innate understanding of their instrument. Songwriting experiences preferred. We are after a modern vintage sound, so in the realm of fuzzy, ripping, distorted, and riffy sections, tempered by more dry, clean, edge of breakup, jangly vintage tones, ala George Harrison, or more modern slacker rock like Mac.

I'm 23M, Guitarist. Looking to form a band that gets together at least a few times a month. I'm more fun in person but there's a certain romance in email collaboration. I want to keep playing my guitar in any capacity, but I love messing around with tape looping and I want to get better at singing, writing and working in a DAW. I'd like to write songs but ideally not by myself - I always love collaboration. I'm looking for anyone around my age who plays or sings anything, really. Standard rock instrumentation is nice, and if like me you're also interested in, or already do, make beats, electronic or work in a DAW, fantastic. I generally get along best with the girls and the gays, but I'm not fussy and make friends easily.

Re: 'electronic/indie' - I feel like I'll always be stuck in guitar music but all the music that I've ever wanted to sound like is also heavily electronic in nature, and I adore a lot of hip-hop production, espcially dusty/crackly/noisy stuff. I'd be especially interested in forming a band that sounds like Water From Your Eyes, Chanel Beads, Mk.Gee or The xx. My favourite guitar band is Sonic Youth, so of course I love noise, but I prefer to play clean and love stuff like The Police, REM/Television/Gang of Four, Soukous and Afro-Cuban jazz. What’s up NYC bassists? We’re a post-hardcore band that’s been grinding on some Hawthorne Heights, Circa Survive, Sleeping With Sirens type stuff, and we’ve got a few originals in the works that are in that same emotional, heavy, cathartic vein.

We’re just a bunch of regular peeps who love playing music that actually moves us. We’ve got a guitarist who can shred, a drummer who hits like a damn truck, and a vocalist who can scream and sing; we just need a bassist to bring it all home.

We practice in Queens and Manhattan with full backline, so no need to haul an amp just bring your bass and your A-game. We meet on Sundays and we’re all pretty serious about making this sound good. We’re not trying to tour the world next month, but we do want to play shows and maybe record some stuff when we’re tight.

Hi, is anyone who lives in New York City (Preferably Manhattan or Brooklyn) under 18 interested in starting a Technical Thrash metal band with me? I am a 14 year old male and I am fine with either playing Guitar or Drums, I already have possibly a keyboard player and possibly another guitar player.
