How should users evaluate a mid-sized crypto exchange before using it?

I have recently seen some discussions about CATCRS. It is not a newly launched platform, and its public materials mention KYC, AML, MSB registration, account security, and risk control.

However, I do not think an exchange should be evaluated only by its website description, or by people simply saying “it is good” or “it is bad.” A more reasonable approach may be to look at several specific factors:

1. Whether account security settings are clear

2. Whether the KYC/AML process is reasonable

3. Whether deposit and withdrawal rules are transparent

4. Whether the system remains stable during extreme market conditions

5. Whether customer support can handle real issues

6. Whether the platform shows continuous operation and updates

For a mid-sized trading platform like CATCRS, which factor would you care about most?
Compared with larger exchanges, what do you think are the biggest advantages and disadvantages of mid-sized platforms?
