Moderator Note 👋 Welcome (back) to r/Farragut!

Hey everyone!

Just a quick "hello" to welcome everyone back to our subreddit. r/Farragut was somewhat abandoned and needed some TLC.

We've got a fresh group of mods now to spruce things up, and build back the community. A few things we've done in the last week:

  • Safety features turned on
  • Rules added to the side bar!!!
  • Automod rules in place to keep bad actors out (as much as possible)
  • User flair added
  • Thread flair added (and required)
  • New graphics for the subreddit

If anyone wants to see something added (maybe a user flair, rules, links, etc.) let us know. Again - welcome!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Hello Market invites families across East Tennessee to its Free Back-to-School Community Celebration on Saturday, August 1, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 11214 Outlet Drive, Knoxville, TN 37932. 4th of July Parade parking?

Hey guys, this is our first 4th here in Farragut and we’re wondering where would be the best place to park/watch the 4th of July Parade happening on Saturday? We live here in Stone Crest and I’m hoping any of you guys might have some good tips on where to go. We have 2 kids and our oldest is 9 and wants to have really good seats to see everything and our youngest is only 15 months and needs to stay as cool as possible so I’m hoping for a good shaded area or maybe a good place to park, and watch while still being able to be in the car with the AC. What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!!

Officials with the Town of Farragut said part of S.Monticello Drive between Clover Fork Dr and Briar Creek Dr are now open. KUB and Rural Metro determined that the leak was caused by a 3rd party contractor performing work in the area.

Please be aware that starting tomorrow, June 23rd, S. Monticello Dr from Briar Creek Dr to Weathervane Dr will be closed for the next 5 weeks for stormwater infrastructure upgrades.

Grigsby Chapel Greenway

They've had the greenway shut down for quite some time by the Lanesborough apartments. Anyone know what the status is/how long before it's resolved?

School

For the Farragut schools, why are they relocating the primary students to a different school when the (sorry for language) clusterfuck of traffic up by the Intermediate, Middle, and Highschool is only growing worse? I’m a student at the middle school and I take the bus and it takes me a solid 30 mins to get home and I’m the first stop

[Farragut/Campbell Station] Concern About Short Ramp onto I-40-East/I75-North

Hi everyone,

I live near Farragut area and use the Campbell Station ramp to merge onto I-40 east towards Knoxville every morning. I've noticed that the ramp is incredibly short, making it stressful and sometimes dangerous to merge onto the highway, especially with high-speed vehicles and trucks in the right lane.

Often, vehicles on the ramp are forced to stop because there's simply not enough distance to merge safely. This increases the risk of accidents.

Does anyone else experience this issue? I feel like this is a serious safety concern that needs to be addressed, and I'm considering reaching out to TDOT to request an extension of the ramp.

If you've been through a similar situation or know how to approach TDOT effectively, I’d appreciate your advice. Or, if you agree, perhaps we could make a collective effort to bring this to the attention of the authorities.

Thanks!

Schools and walkability

Hi everyone! We’re considering relocating to Farragut for a number of reasons including the schools and being pedestrian friendly. We understand the schools are highly rated but looking for more feedback. And we want our kids to be able to grow up in a town that’s safe and easy to navigate. Thanks!

Hey neighbors; take a second and drop the name of your small business/side hustle so we all can support our local entrepreneurs. Feel free to make recommendations or ask for services your are seeking!

Does anyone know what’s being built next to Dairy Queen, where the old Kroger used to be? I’m just praying to God that it’s not more apartments.
