I am currently seeking passionate volunteer editors who would be interested in creating cinematic trailers and promotional teasers for upcoming fanedit projects of mine.

At present, my CUTSMITH is a non-commercial passion project, and we are unfortunately unable to offer financial compensation.

If you enjoy editing, motion graphics, typography, sound design, or creating powerful trailers—and would like to contribute to a project dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and thoughtful reconstruction of cinema—we would be honored to collaborate with you.

Sound design is one of the most important aspects of trailer editing. If you're new to trailer editing and would like to learn more about how to use sound design in your next cut then I have two videos that might help you out.

The first one is a Sound Design Crash Course where Kent Lamm walks you through his process of sound designing a trailer for one of his short films.

The second video is from Chris MacDonald who's website is full of amazing resources about editing and trailer editing.

I edit this film into a fan made trailer of a fictional broadcast movie called Special Bulletin with a music that I don't own is Untitled #9. This is just for fun purposes, I like creating a dramtic trailers, hope you enjoy my own fan made trailer. Warning this video might spoil something, but I'm trying to keep it as a mystery.

Sharing the trailer for my new dark comedy short film Mein Surname. It follows David J. Hitler, a man trying to convince people he's a good person despite his notorious surname.

I'd be very interested to hear what people in a trailer focused community think. The film itself is 23 minutes long and I found cutting the trailer quite tricky. I kept going back and forth on the pacing and how long to make it, but this is the version I ultimately finished with.

I'd appreciate your thoughts on the edit. Does it feel too long for a short film? And most importantly, does it make you want to watch the whole film?
