Discussion Thinking about Getting Jedi: Fallen Order
I’ve been thinking about getting Jedi: Fallen Order, and it’s now on sale for like $8. I love story games, like Spider-Mans, God of War, DBH, RDR2, etc. Is Jedi: Fallen Order worth playing?

Discussion Question about Battle Scars
I read novel and among others things, a few things in particular caught my eye. Apperantly lightsaber can deflect missiles ? I always thought you needed to use force to do so, but it seems like saber can as well in lore now, without worry of them exploding?
Another flash-bang; Cal squinted, managing to get his lightsaber up in time to deflect another missile. This one boomeranged back to hit its launcher— And the cantina went up in flames, the explosion rocking the entire building
Cal held his lightsaber at the ready in front of him, both blades blazing. He was working out his best strategy—deflect one of T1L-D4’s missiles back toward Killena, watch them both get annihilated
And is it me or Cal seems to love killing bit too much in this novel lol?
He also, at one point, jumps on a jetpack-flying bounty hunter, and she is alive until he rips of her helmet off and then she is dead? Like did he break her neck while taking of helmet or something worse?
He holstered his lightsaber, just for a moment, then used both hands to yank off the hunter’s helmet and end the fight. Without someone alive to control it, her jetpack flared out of control,

Discussion Just finished Fallen Order literally 45 minutes ago and here are my thoughts (spoilers obviously): Spoiler
THE TITLE IS A MISTAKE BRO PLZ IGNORE IT LMFAO
The gameplay was astonishing. Not only do you get 5 whole stances, but you get a lot of mobility and have a huge skill tree. My personal favorite stances are blaster and crossguard because, although it ain't double-sided, blaster is really good for multiple/fodder enemies while also being ranged and good for combos, while the crossguard is great for boss fights and does the most power, and the slowness isn't a big enough drawback for me to give it up. Even beyond that, the customization for the blaster, saber, and BD-1 are super fun to play around with! While I prefer to keep BD-1 white and red and have Cal's saber with the Jaro Tapal emitter because I feel that's just the best choice for me, changing the colors of the blade, blaster, and saber hilt were really nice, especially with the white and gold theme I went with. Same thing can be said about Cal's customization (I personally like his long hair version). I personally like how Merrin and Cal got together, and I know some might not think that and think it feels forced, I thought it was inevitable and really think they work together! I think really the only thing I dislike about this game is the ending and Bode's twist. While, in retrospect, I think the idea of him being on the Empire's side makes more sense considering he would give anything to make sure his daughter was safe, including joining the Empire despite them killing his wife, I'm not so sure on the whole jedi idea. He's always felt like the usual jetpack + blaster combo guy and I thought it was a nice contrast compared to Cal's usual jedi style. That is until he used force push on Cal and revealed his saber in which, it did get me surprised, but it kind of disappointed me a bit. I really hope in the next game, we get more info on who Bode was when he was a jedi like who his master was, the call before his wife's death, or even him as a padawan! Also, am I the only one who thought like 2 hours in that Bode would betray us? I might just be crazy. Cere's death was really tragic to me because she's been a day one goat for the crew, but I think her going out by Vader while putting up a good fight is very fitting of her considering what happened to Trilla. I think Dagen Gera was a great villain along with Rayvis and served their jobs really well (though the Bode twist kind of ruined it for me). I'm also very glad that Greez, Merrin, and Kate didn't die throughout the game. I also really like how Cal was struggling against the Dark Side's temptations and I really hope we get to see more of that in the next game.
Overall, I think the game could've had a better ending, but that doesn't mean I think it was flat-out BAD, I just think it could've had some more going for it. Overall, the gameplay and story combine was a 9.5/10. It was a really fun game and definitely one of my favorite games that I own, other examples being like Ultrakill (9.9/10) and Portal 2 (10/10). I absolutely would recommend this to any fan who has played Fallen Order and is thinking if the next game is really worth it. It absolutely is. It's like Fallen Order on steroids and aderal, pretty much all you could ask for in a sequel game. I just really hope the next game doesn't disappoint! Do let me know if you disagree or agree with anything I've said because I'd love to see how others feel on this game!
Also, not that important to my rating of the game, but my boss fight again Rick the Door Technician was extra funny for me because his animation broke and him approaching me didn't have any run cycles, but rather was just him standing while hovering towards my direction, and it was funny asl i can't lie.

Discussion I can't believe I slept on these games until now Spoiler
I just didn't KNOW. Does anyone else relate? Or want to yell about these games with me?
I got Fallen Order and Survivor from this year's Steam Summer sale since they were super cheap. I thought, "okay, I like Star Wars. For that price I'll finally play these silly little lightsaber games."
What I got was a story that made me feel the entire spectrum of human emotion, characters I'm now extremely attached to, amazing performances from some very talented and dedicated actors, soundtracks that I cannot stop listening to, gameplay that was both fun and challenging, and overall two games I know I will be getting immense replay value from.
I'm just stunned that I never knew how amazing these games are and I'm both disappointed it took me so long to finally experience them but also kinda glad because now I have less time to wait for the third installment.

EDIT: Yes, the Mire Terror glitched out. It was a cheap win for a cheap fight
I listened to the advice given and thought maybe I was being too harsh calling this fight one of the worst(or THE worst) in the game, and that there WAS a strategy involving Force Confuse, only to attempt it and learn that it doesnt work, at least not on JGM, which is ANOTHER huge oversight and unfair restriction that the fight forces on you. Idc if its a boss, fully upgraded Confuse should effect everyone who isnt a Jedi or droid
This boss fight remains badly designed, unbalanced, and has no sense of logic put into its AI, and is still one of the worst boss fights I’ve experienced. I even put on the closest thing to a RotJ Luke fit in preparation for a decent challenge, what a joke of a battle

Discussion WHY IS HE HERE?!?!
So was finishing up missing collectables post story, went down to the caves the Raiders hang out in and noticed the Rankor there had respawned. What? I even had the achievement for defeating all legendary foes. So, I kill him, grab a nearby chest I had missed, and turn around to see the body gone. Great. I go back to the Saloon, finish up the garden and get the seed map upgrade, start collecting those around the valley, kill some chickens, and then turn around to see THIS. he's just there, in a spot i had JUST walked over. Spawned from thin air!

Discussion Thoughts from a new player (Fallen Order spoilers) Spoiler
Really disappointed at the end of the game from a gameplay perspective. Curious if anyone else feels the same way.
I played right out of the gates on Jedi Master difficulty. This game had me hooked for so long, but the Trilla fight in the fortress at the end is so bad it's impressive. For most of the game the devs did a really good job ramping up difficulty and encouraging you to learn tougher mechanics like parries. In the previous boss fight against Malicos, getting good at parries rewards you a lot, giving you more openings. Then, shockingly, in the Trilla fight on the fortress planet, you parry her multiple times in a row and get punished with an unblockable attack. I'm not expecting to get a massive amount of damage off of a few parries, but I at least expect some combat advantage for the effort. But no, the fight encourages nothing but dodging, which is not only easier but also way less fun. It's really a shame. Up to that point, the game was not a masterpiece. The loot system is horrible, the story is just okay, and there is a lack of enemy variety. But in my opinion it was a solid 8/10 for the gameplay. It did a good job capturing that Dark Souls feel of getting better at the challenging combat. But when the game flips off the player so dramatically right at the end, it sours so much of the experience.

News So i translated the aurebesh words in the starting screen for fallen order during the game start intro and it's interesting to say the least
So apparently it translates to "Serenity" (slightly south-southeast of the the EA logo) and "Force" (east-northeast of the star wars logo) Pretty cool.

Discussion Finit l'histoire de Survivor
Bonsoir

I'm playing on the hardest difficulty, because it's a soulslike... part of the charm is the difficulty. But the rocket launcher stormtroopers keep wrecking me! I'm assuming there's no way to like, deflect them right? All Cal can do is dodge/roll out of the way and hope for the best? If I'm missing something, PLEASE let me know 😅

Discussion The shortfall of Jedi: Survivor
It was a very good, not great game. The biggest reason being that there absolutely should've been a game before this one. Every time Cal and Marin talk about the time between this game and fallen order, or during the beginning sequence when you're interacting with the twins and the hacker, or telling Bode how awesome or crazy they are, I'm like "WHERE'S THAT GAME???" I would've loved to have seen a game where the original crew eventually gives up on Cal as he goes from mission to mission with Saw Guerrera, gathering his new crew along the way.
For me, without that middle game, it makes this one hit super hollow. I think they upgraded the gameplay. I'm super grateful they added a scene skipping function. But those improvements make it a very good game, the poor writing and skipping to the jedi survivor part of the time line is are frustrating. Marin is too wise and too much of a know it all, although she's not awful, she's not a total Mary Sue. Cordova for me is a super dud for the story. The first time i saw him I was like "who is this? Oh, that's the research guy." I definitely wasn't excited about his appearance.
I think this game falls a little short on the story because they didn't have an in between game. Going on the saw Guerrera missions and seeing the team fall apart and building a new team would've been an awesome second game. Having those story lines shown, NOT TOLD, would've been awesome.

Help! level design is infuriating and the map is essentially useless. should i just skip to jedi survivor or is it full of more planets like zeffo?
also why tf does every game post 2020 have to try and be a goddamn soulslike? fucking worst sub genre you could possibly try and imitate imho. do traditional linear third person action adventure games even exist anymore ffs?

Fan Art Rebound Jedi: Battle Scars in a custon hardcover design depicting Cal's Lightsaber from FO
Hope this is still related enough to the games, but seeing as the novel was a tie-in, I think I'm in the clear. Recently read Jedi: Battle Scars and while the book was... pretty okay (6.5/10), I recently started learning how to rebind books in custom hardcovers. And since I hate the original cover art of Battle Scars, I figured I'd give it a shot.
The backside originally had a purge trooper helmet as decal, but it would cooperate so it left blank save for the frame
