MOD-POST Career Mode Bible | FAQ & Guides
Introduction
Hello all, there seems to be an increasingly higher amount of posts with the same recurring themes. I've decided to make a simple compilation of some of the best guides on this subreddit, as well as some simple explanations to help provide quick & easy answers to these questions.
Have a guide you think deserves to be on the list? Comment with it below and we can make our best attempt at creating a complete set of guides for Career Mode. The amount of guides in the last year or so compared to other years has dwindled, so hopefully this will encourage more excellent quality content.
This is a work-in-progress, and more guides will continually be added by request and as of publishing.
Tools & Websites
There is a plethora of excellent resources that will help with a lot of the things in this post. Some people prefer to play without the use of external databases and calculators, offering a more vanilla experience. After all, it's a single player game so it's your preference!
| Website | Description |
|---|---|
| https://sofifa.com/ | Best up-to-date player database. Can make shortlists, view old squad files and has a positional calculator to find optimal positions. |
| https://www.fifacm.com/ | Has some unique tools including a potential calculator to figure out potential for a player not at your club. Also has a 'wonderkid' list. |
| https://fifakitcreator.com/ | Only usable in-game on PC, allows you to browse and create custom kits for your team. Note that only PC can use any mods. |
| https://www.fifarosters.com/create-card | Nice tool to create very high quality FC 24 UT cards for your career mode players, allowing you to upload your own images. |
Regens & Pregens
Career Mode works by replacing players as they retire in the game with generated players that don't exist in real life. When you enter the loading screen for a new season, that is the moment that they are being created, replacing retirees for the season you have just finished.
Regens have identical nationality, position(s), and importantly, birth dates to the player whom they have replaced. They will always spawn in the new season between 16-21 years old, and in the same league (but not same club) that the retiring player was in when you entered the loading screen.
Pregens are a rarer, more pre-emptive form of player replacement. These are effectively regens of a player who is not retiring, so both players will exist in the game simultaneously. Pregens also remain at the same club as their predecessor. You could expect to find a Messi pregen at Inter Miami, providing he hadn't moved clubs, and wasn't retiring.
The importance of your awareness of these game mechanics, revolves around the fact that both regens and pregens will start with the same potential overall as their predecessor's highest overall in your save.

IMAGE Seems like a change to OVR is coming
In EA's Grounds image there is an Easter Egg about OVR. Seems like a change is coming to how it works in Career Mode, since their Producer reposted it.

RANT Fc26 player career mode is 💩
So I am the Bundesliga top scorer, 14 goals in 15 games.. and now I got injured because my manager decided not to sub me off when I got a knock.. and waited for my match rating to drop to 6.5.. now I am injured and it seems like these ea shits haven't done anything about it if a player gets injured.. and now look at his post in the game. I am fed up of this disaster

RANT Career mode is literally unplayable and I'm sad.
I'm a hardcore career mode player, I played all of the games since the early 2000s, before 24 I didn't even touch the online part of the game.
My problem is, the game is unplayable in every way: authentic is ridiculously slow, it feels every player is running in mud, competitive is like some sort of anime with the 8-10 goals/match. I tried a lot of different sliders and settings, but every opponent feels like prime Barca. I'm not say I can't win, it's just so unrealistic in every aspect that after a couple of games I always lose interest.
What can I do to enjoy career mode again? Can I do anything?

PROBLEM Career Mode will always be dead until they add this feature
as you see in the picture, everton is a 5 star team. this would be fine if not for the fact that 5 other teams in the prem at that moment are also 5 star. EA NEED TO FIX AI PROGRESSION.
without the fact that wonderkids sometimes decline or that some players just fall off, every single team only develops forward and its at a astonishing pace. this is only after about 4 seasons, and all teams in the top 5 leagues are 4 stars of higher. sure we can have new giants, but ea is making every single team giants. if not for my realism mod, the prem probably would have been at 5 stars for everyone. as soon as you are promoted you have to face 90 rated everton players, its so unrealistic
in addition all teams have practically infinite budget after the 2nd season, everyone generates so much revenue that a team like brighton can easily bid for mbaappe and in this save, endrick was taken by crystal palace. CRYSTAL FUCKING PALACE.
if ea want to fix this, they need to introduce a performance based rating system that drops or increases based on season performance. of course, that performance based rating in my opinion shouldnt affect their ability, rather their confidence and that could make them fall off. that could be the way to do it.
but before that, dynamic potential is good and all but we have to make more negative dynamic potential and fix the rating system beforehand. in no world should my striker be able to convert a outside of the box goal consistently and if not get a 5.5 for missing a "0.4 xg"
Overall, as soon as this is fixed career mode gets better significantly and ai progression feels natural instead of just pure development.

RANT FC 26 My Player Career - Scott McTominay is an absolute liability
Ive seen Mctominay on the pitch enough to know I was excited to play with him when I signed with Napoli in my 2nd season.
The problem is that FCs version of McTominay is the worst teammate Ive ever had in any sports game Ive ever played and it isn't close.
1) When I'm assisting him for a goal he has a ZERO % shot on goal percentage in 30 games. 0/22 on shots on goal when I pass him the ball. His favorite thing to do is to steal my assists. He will have a wide open goal right in front of the net. No goalie. No defenders. Hell pass every time and take my assist or lose possession.
2) His movement is HORRIBLE. He cant hold his position. Hes the slowest player on the field. He cant fight through a run to save his life. He constantly double fakes me with wide open runs to the goal and stops as soon as I pass the ball, forcing me to make a passing error.
3) His passing is awful. He waits to pass until Im covered or just sends a terrible pass out of bounds.
If I were McTominay, I would be suing FC 26 because what they have done to him in the game is flat out horrific. Im guessing he has probably cost me at least 50 scoring opportunities this season alone.
You're still awesome in real life Scott, but FC has done you DIRTY

IMAGE My studies suggest 5-4-1 is the best formation to get results
It's more defencive, perhaps boring, but time and time again, it proves better than my 2nd favourite 4-1-3-2
Defensively better, and surprisingly offensively better as players aren't frustratingly grouped together
I always start the season with the 2 formations, with 2 Xl's of roughly equal quality
And it's the 5-4-1 that consistently comes out on top

SUGGESTION The only thing I want in player career is manager instructions and tactics
Being able to see what our team is playing like, all the individual positions and focuses and what our role should be, what's expected from me
I always drop player career cause of this, like what am I supposed to do? What do you want me to do? You want me to be a box to box midfielder, a deep lying playmaker?
I always just have to understand and adapt myself to whatever the team's doing

It's the first time since FIFA 23 he has been the cover star. Hopefully we can get a good game to go along with it😭
P.S I just realised now that I misspelled Kylian, 🤦♂️

SUGGESTION The Ultimate EA FC Career Mode Wishlist
Introduction
Career Mode has one of the most loyal communities in sports gaming. Many players spend hundreds or even thousands of hours rebuilding clubs, developing youth players and creating football stories.
Gameplay improvements are always welcome, but what Career Mode really needs is more immersion, realism and long-term progression.
The goal isn’t to turn EA FC into Football Manager.
The goal is to make us feel like we are building a football club over 15–20 seasons.
1. Club Infrastructure
Allow managers to invest club money into facilities.
Examples:
Training Ground
Medical Centre
Youth Academy
Scouting Department
Sports Science Centre
Stadium Facilities
Each upgrade should provide meaningful benefits instead of just cosmetic changes.
Example:
Level 1 Training Ground
Normal player development
Level 5 Training Ground
Faster player growth
Better stamina recovery
Lower injury risk
2. Youth Academy Overhaul
Youth Academy should become one of the biggest long-term investments.
Possible upgrades:
Better youth coaches
More training pitches
Youth dormitories
Sports psychologists
International youth partnerships
Benefits:
Higher quality youth players
Better potential
Faster development
More local talents
Ajax should naturally produce more elite youth players than clubs with poor academies.
3. Stadium Expansion
Instead of buying only players, clubs should be able to grow.
Examples:
Expand capacity
Build new stands
Add roof
Improve atmosphere
VIP boxes
Club museum
Winning titles should increase attendance and allow larger stadium projects.
4. Dynamic Kits Every Season
No club wears the same kit for 15 years.
Every new season should generate:
Home kit
Away kit
Third kit
Goalkeeper kit
The designs don’t need official licenses.
Procedurally generated kits would already be a massive improvement.
5. Shirt Sponsors
Sponsors should change over time.
Big clubs attract premium sponsors.
Smaller clubs start with local companies.
Champions League success should increase sponsorship income.
6. Club Reputation
Reputation shouldn’t depend only on stars.
It should reflect:
Youth development
Financial stability
European success
Academy quality
Club philosophy
Young players should choose clubs differently.
A Dutch wonderkid should often prefer Ajax over sitting on Manchester City’s bench.
7. Realistic Transfers
Transfers should consider:
League reputation
Playing time
Club ambition
Weather
Language
Family
Rivals
Money shouldn’t solve every transfer.
8. Club History
Create a permanent Hall of Fame.
Statistics:
Club legends
Top scorers
Most appearances
Biggest transfers
Trophy cabinet
Former managers
Historic seasons
Every Career Mode becomes unique.
9. Dynamic Fan Culture
Fans should evolve.
Winning titles changes:
Stadium atmosphere
Chants
Flags
Tifos
Attendance
Small clubs should feel like giants after years of success.
10. Board Vision
Instead of random objectives.
Choose club philosophy.
Examples:
Ajax
Develop youth
Brighton
Buy young players
Real Madrid
Sign world-class stars
Athletic Club
Basque players
Roma
Italian core
Objectives should reflect club identity.
Final Thought
Career Mode doesn’t need hundreds of new animations.
It needs reasons to play 20 seasons instead of five.
Football isn’t only about buying players.
It’s about building a legacy.
Build the club. Build the academy. Build the stadium. Build the history.

Whenever I press approach to buy it comes up with nothing except OK.
